technology Laptop cannot connect to WiFi anymore

I hope this is the best place to put this.

For almost a year (I forget when), my computer stopped connecting to the wifi at my house. Everything I have tried doesn't work though, but I can use Ethernet and found out that I can use wifi ,but only if I am close to the router, but the wifi still isn't reliable. Furthermore, I usually use it on a room on the other sode of the house, where it gets absolutely no connection.

Other devices work in that room though, so it is the laptop itself. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver, using the troubleshooter, deleting and entering the connection again, updating the driver, and many other things. I fear that the adapter itself is broken, and it would need to be replaced. I just hope that's not it.

Edit: Problem solved.

If the laptop has trouble itself connecting...then I'm afraid it's your adaptor. You'll need to replace it. Use Ethernet cables for now until you can replace it. If you haven't tried, have you tried resetting your network adaptor settings?

To be honest if you have Windows 7 or Vista on your laptop then it might be the internet connection glitch. I've actually encountered this glitch before on my old school laptop and it's really funny of how this glitch never occurred on my school wifi but it would always occur with my home wifi and some people have never encountered the glitch on their Windows 7 computer. If it's the glitch that's causing the problem then unfortunately there is pretty much nothing you can do about it but you should never have the problem again if you install Windows 10 on your laptop. :)

Since it can work when you place it near the router, It doesn't seem like a driver issue, otherwise it just wouldn't connect at all.

I assume you've already tried soft resetting your WiFi router.

I think it really might be the laptop. Before replacing its parts I'd suggest taking it out to a nearby WiFi area like a Starbucks and check if it connects from there.
