Randimaxis 8,652 May 4, 2017 Author Share May 4, 2017 UPDATE: Our friend has arrived, and we have searched like Sam Spade. We looked into a number of things, including apartments and a trailer or two... But we found a house. After a bit of talk and explanation, it truly seems as if we're finally going to be stable once more. The best part? We move in starting Monday! ... and we NEVER would have made it as far as we did without the help and support of ALL you wonderful people. My fellow Ponyites, I cannot even begin to put into words my extreme appreciation for each and every one of you during what has most assuredly been the most desperate and worrisome time of my life. There were so many moments where I gained courage and comfort from simply re-reading everyone's kind comments... I will never be able to repay such kindness... except to say that my family and I love each and every one of you kind, caring people. Thank you for being our light in the darkness. *gigantic, all-forum encompassing hug* 5 ===== ( 0 ) ===== Fnord.

You, your wife, and your kids deserve a little stability and peace. I'm beyond words that you finally get to breathe here in a few days. Give that family a huge hug sir! Thank you to everyone who helped out in this.
GrimGrimoire 4,973 May 5, 2017 Share May 5, 2017 I am so happy that you reached a positive conclusion to your troubles. I spent many a night worrying about how things were for you and hoping things would work out. Time to look towards a brighter tomorrow and sail into it. 1 ~No profound statement needed~

Randimaxis 8,652 May 9, 2017 Author Share May 9, 2017 The lease contract was utterly ludicrous - they wanted a FULL YEAR'S RENT in advance, NO maintenance responsibility on their part, unreasonable demands on OUR availability and reserved the right to kick us out for even an imagined infraction. So... back to Square One it is. ===== ( 0 ) ===== Fnord.
Rikifive 24,193 May 13, 2017 Share May 13, 2017 Now that's ridiculous - so you're back on the edge? D: Getting a place to live is way too expensive and much more complex than needed. Randimaxis 8,652 June 15, 2017 Author Share June 15, 2017 [EPILOGUE] And so, after much trying and waiting and worrying... we are now in our new house. It's wonderful to be able to sleep without the racket of a ghetto hotel going on around us... no more having to hide the cat from the front office (no pets allowed - and we spent the better part of THREE MONTHS hiding him from them, despite room inspections)... no more random gunshots from right outside our door at 4 in the morning... Best of all? It means I'll have time to harass spend on you lovely folks once more... and I'll be doing so as much as I can. I wanted to take this moment to thank you, all of you, each and every one of you... there were a number of times I got no solace from life except for these dear forums. Even at the height of my misery, it was the kind thoughts and words of you wonderful Ponyites that kept that last straw unbent and unbroken. I could never have made it without the help of each and every one of you out there in ForumLand. Thank you - I honestly love you folks with all my heart... and some of my spleen. About a third of my kidneys. And my left pinkie toe. To recap: Crisis ended - much love for the Pony Folk. ... and now... ... CHAOS!!!!! MWA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HAAAAAA!!!!! (It''s great to be back!) 5 ===== ( 0 ) ===== Fnord.

Roughshod 719 June 15, 2017 Share June 15, 2017 This story of generosity has Rarity's approval. Oh, and I guess kindness was also a factor? There was quite a bit of humour here as well... Oh buck it, I'll just throw 'em all in. And as a special recognition for a moderator. Spoiler 1 The truth is always rough.
Snow 7,057 July 7, 2017 Share July 7, 2017 @Randimaxis Matthew, In our exchanges one thing you have said to me on far too many times is that something has "fallen through" what can I say, it sucks when things don't go according to plan, but there was one thing I felt in my heart of hearts and I knew It wouldn't fall through, Something that will always stick together and damn well it stayed afloat through all of this so I "took" it and had it turned into ponies, not sure what the thinking behind that is myself even though it was my own idea but I just realised it does count as something you don't actually have to give back and that makes me tremendously happy. I'd like to thank @Yellow Diamond and @skysweep For their efforts regarding The Gallery Of Goodwill as well as @Swinton and @Ariida-chi Who collaborated on this lovely piece. Things are looking better but I know it isn't quite over yet, I wish you the best of luck with whatever the future may hold and thanks for ruining my 18th birthday you meanie! Love ya Randi! 2 beans
Randimaxis 8,652 July 7, 2017 Author Share July 7, 2017 Yep, there go the waterworks. I don't know what to sa-... no, that's not right; I DO know what to say. THANK YOU. Thank you Snow - everything you've done for myself and my family is far more than I ever could expect from another human being who has never even met me. You went above and beyond, even going so far as to experience a little trouble because of it. *chuckle* But, through it all, you've been a shoulder to lean on, a kind soul to hear me vent about my pain, and a phoenix that has helped me to rise from the ashes that were all around me. There aren't enough words within my reach to describe the ecstatic joy you have brought to such a dark time. YOU, my friend, are the absolute bee's knees; my gratitude is eternal, and I will always be glad to be your friend. *bows exceedingly humbly* Thank you to GrimGrimore, Pathfinder, Hypn0ticD, Totally Lyra, Ninetee Saide, Sivath Flare, Spoon, Jeric and FeldO... and those anonymous folks, as well. I hate begging for money, but when we needed it, you heard me loud and clear. The money that was put forward was used to feed us, keep us from being homeless and allowed us to keep our few possessions (including the kids' bikes and the current computer I am using to communicate to you all with)... and that means ever so much to me... to us all (even the cat, I'm fairly sure). If I ever win the lottery or some such windfall, I'm buying each of you a life-sized plushie of whichever character you want. *massive, bonecrushing hugs* Thank you to so many folks who reached out to me with condolences, who got angry at the person who scammed us, shared their own experiences with me and were the balm that soothed the enormous welt on my soul from the massive burn Life had given us. There were a few times I was quite closer to the end of my rope than I care to admit... but it was these forums, and all the wonderful folks in it, that not only reached out to pull me back from the brink, but most certainly reminded me that there were people... and pegasi, unicorns, griffons, draconequui and such... who actually empathized with our plight, and whose generous kindness brought laughter - it's own kind of magic - into a world that had so little to enjoy. You all have my loyal friendship, no matter the storm. *handshakes and hugs all around* Thank you to Swinton and Ariida-chi for the exceptional artwork above; as I said, it was so beautiful, I couldn't help but cry tears of pure happiness at seeing such a thing - never in all my wildest dreams did I ever even consider the thought of seeing my family ponified... but I make you this promise: I'ma post this on Facebook, and y'all WILL get proper credit for it. I am flabbergasted by this incredible work of art... and humbled to be the subject. *confetti and balloons rain from the sky* Thank you to Yellow Diamond and skysweep as well, for the entire idea for the donation pool was to bring light to those who needed it - mission accomplished, you two; you made a forty year old weep in joy... you can cross that off your Bucket Lists. *hearty pats on the back, with handshake* Thank you to the staff here, as well; many of them kept in touch with me through all our tribulations even more than the forums did (which, actually, was a LOT), and their encouragement and understanding helped me to keep my head and humor during what was most assuredly our family's biggest crisis ever. I don't think I could ever thank any of you enough for allowing me to be a humble part of such a gathering of minds and hearts such as those who volunteer their time and efforts here. *applause and cheering* MLP Forums... YOU are best pony. 2 ===== ( 0 ) ===== Fnord.
