Current statistics of the ponies

After the first half of Season 7, here are the current stats of the characters:

  • Twilight Sparkle - As of Season 6, has had all of her arcs completed. But so far in Season 7, is currently in a big lead!
  • Rainbow Dash - Became a Wonderbolt in Season 6. Also shared at least two major roles with each of every Mane Six pony as of Season 6. So far, not doing so well this season, just as I thought. :(
  • Rarity - Opened her new store in Manehattan in Season 6. Also shared at least two major roles with each of every Mane Six pony (except Twilight) as of Season 6). Like Rainbow Dash was expected to not appear much this season, but is actually doing fine so far.
  • Applejack - Finally has gotten her episode where her parents finally make an appearance (only in a flashback) has been confirmed. At the same time, she and Twilight are the only ponies in it, with Twilight's appearance only a cameo. For the rest of the season, isn't expected to do very well.
  • Pinkie Pie - Was strongly expected some major roles with Fluttershy, but I guess it isn't happening now. Still, doing great this season.
  • Fluttershy - As expected, has gotten more screen time than Rainbow Dash, but may end up with less than Rarity for another season in a row. Either way, she'll do fine.
  • Spike - Only one episode confirmed so far -- Triple Threat.
  • Cutie Mark Crusaders - Earned their Cutie Marks in Season 5. Recently shared a major role with three more Mane Six ponies, and they're getting another one (Campfire Tales) this season.
  • Starlight Glimmer - She's lucky a few of the old writers have given her some episodes. But I don't think she'll appear much this season, regardless.

Just like I thought, I'll bet Rainbow Dash fans are already disappointed by now with the expected lack of her this season.

most characters whose most successful goals have finally been met (such as earning Cutie Marks, becoming a Wonderbolt, etc.) may face less screen time in later episodes.

^That is mad retarded. Why evolve the CMC and remove the narrative crutches constraining their ability to offer interesting plot lines and then subsequently drop all that potential like a rock? We NEED CMC episodes concentrating on their lives after cutie marks. We NEED episodes focusing on their interactions with a reformed and repentant Diamond Tiara. And most importantly, we need Spike to make some moves on Sweetie Belle for Celestia's sakes! Dx

I suspect the writers are not following any trends or statistics and just writing episodes on characters with ideas that interest them. So even though RD and Rarity had some good plotlines and such recently, they may still get a lot of attention this next season just due to popularity among the writers. They appear to be listening to some of the fanbase queries and trying to give us episodes answering some of those questions, but I imagine each other writers have charcaters they themself want to try to tell stories about, so who knows how that will all mesh out.

I expect Spike and the CMC will each get about the same amount of attention they got last season. GlimGlam will probably play a larger role this season as well I expect much to the frustration of many.

And Spike x Sweetie Belle = No.

~No profound statement needed~

I actually expect less Starlight than last season, and she might turn into a CMC in regards of appearances. CMCs hopefully more attention than last season, Pinkie and Fluttershy defintely need more, Spike around the same as season 6, keep the BIG Spike season for Scorpan's season! Hopefully Twilight will get to do more than last season and actually act like a Princess of Friendship.

Also not only Pinkie the CMCs need to share an episode with, Spike and Starlight should have an episode with CMCs too!

Rainbow Dash got as little screen time as Fluttershy did in Season 5. Rarity had NO major roles until halfway through that season. Plus, Rainbow Dash had the least screen time of the Mane Six in Season 1 and Rarity had no major roles whatsoever in Season 3.

More hilariously, one of them didn't appear much in every odd numbered season on the show. So anything can still happen. They're not going to get a lot of attention in every season, especially this odd-numbered Season 7.

I'd point out that Twilight, Spike, Dash, Pinkie, & Rarity have all matured a great deal since S1 (I can't even remember the last time Dash was boasting or Rarity fainted while having The! Worst! Thing! EVER!, for instance)

Apple Jack has probably changed the least but was already the most mature in S1

Fluttershy has grown some since S1 but IMO she is now the character with the farthest to go

Which is why it's her turn to get more attention for once. And I'm sure Pinkie Pie could use some too.

Since Starlight is socially estranged, and has more considerable character "flaws" which some may see as an added charm to her character, I feel like she will definitely reappear more than once, she hasnt been a part of a close group of friends for nearly as long as the others, there is a possibility for carbon repeat themes but now rather using Starlights character as the medium... As for CMC I dont think they are just going to stop making content, I just think for fans its different level of approval now because literally a large amount of their charm and character came from the fact that they had a goal, and we watch them try to achieve it, the remedy of their episode dynamics... They have some more pony combinations in a solo episode they can experiment with... and show new personal friendships on new levels... but I think Starlight is here to stay, the new writers are hoping on to the current content of the show, and Starlight along with haters, has MANY fans....

Non nobis, Domine, non nobis, sed nomini tuo da gloriam.

Valve model does not work unless you hold monopoly over content distribution of other parties. If this isn't the lesson learned in the previous seasons, it will surely be the center of attention in the upcoming content.

  • 1 month later...

One month later, here's the new statistics for some of the characters:

  • Starlight will certainly not get any large roles for at least episodes (starting with a Flurry of Emotions). I guess that means I'm correct so far on the "bad luck for her" part.
  • After 7 episodes, Rarity and Rainbow Dash are now even less likely to appear much this season. The way I see it, both their first Season 7 episodes are "musts" as Rarity hasn't spent much time with Sweetie Belle in the last two seasons, and we know Rainbow Dash's parents will be in the other episode.
  • Spike still has nothing after 8 episodes.

  • Spike - Nothing much new, but should get at least 2-3 major roles this season.

Begging your pardon but becoming Dragon Lord and effectively saving Equestria through diplomatic ties with the dragons along with befriending a Changeling who was ultimately responsible for overthrowing Queen Chrysalis and eliminating the threat of the Changelings is quite a bit more than "nothing much new." :mustache:

Oh and Spike saved the Crystal Empire. TWICE. Definitely can't overstate that.

Exactly this! Now all the stories he needs is his origin and destiny! Plus maybe some development with other characters that aren't Twilight or Rarity! XD

With 25% of Season 7 complete, here's where they stand now:

  • Twilight Sparkle - Did two really hard things this season: Deciding where to send Starlight away someplace else after Starlight's graduation, and spending time and taking care of her niece, Flurry Heart. Currently stands in first place.
  • Pinkie Pie - Did everything it took for her older sister Maud Pie to help her see that Ponyville has a lot more to offer than her hobby of rocks. Plus, she's getting another episode later within the first half of this season, the one with the yaks from Yakyakistan.
  • Fluttershy - Did an amazing performance of building an animal sanctuary! Plus, she's getting another episode later within the first half of this season with Discord.
  • Rarity - Only thing she's done is doing childish activities with Sweetie Belle in one episode. She'll get another chance to reach the Top Three in Honest Apple, but after that, she'll fall back down to the Bottom Three 'cause she won't get more episodes for long.
  • Rainbow Dash - While we thought Parental Glideance would be a Rainbow Dash episode, as it actually turned out, it was a Scootaloo episode. So, technically, Scootaloo was the one who developed and not Rainbow Dash. Which means Dash has no chance of moving up to the Top Three at all, and that means bad luck.
  • Applejack - Did absolutely nothing, but she'll get at least two episodes later this season. Unfortunately, they won't save her from the Bottom Three.

Currently in the Top Three (doing great): Twilight, Pinkie, and Fluttershy. Even though they're stuck at a red light for two episodes in a row so far (and it could be four by next week), they've also had a lot of lines.

Currently in the Bottom Three (bad luck so far): Rarity, Rainbow, and Applejack. Two of them mostly only spent time with their little sister figures, so they're not really developing further right now.

Rarity already had an episode, has another coming up and going from that press release has at least one more later in the season, she's getting about as much focus as Applejack Pinkie and Fluttershy so far, more than Rainbow Dash but less than Starlight and Twilight.

I don't mind the lack of Rainbow. It's time for the other characters to shine. :)

If I don't understand something or Interpret it wrong, I'm dutch. Sometimes I gamble for meanings of the words. And sometimes I write the wrong words, like week and weak for example. Sorry for it already. :smug:

Discord, Twilight, Sunset, Fluttershy, Starlight, Rarity, Luna, Celestia, Big MCintosh, Cadence, Shining, Minuette, Lyra, Rara, Sweetie Belle, Cheerilee, Derpy, Spike.

Applejack's starring roles includes Honest Apple (with Rarity), The Perfect Pear, and Campfire Tales (with Rainbow, Rarity, CMCs) - 3.

Fluttershy's starring roles includes - Fluttershy Leans In, Discordant Harmony (with Discord), and A Health of Information - 3.

Spike's starring roles only includes Triple Threat - 1.

CMCs' starring roles includes Forever Filly (Sweetie Belle only, and Rarity), Parental Glidance (Scootaloo only, and Rainbow), Hard to Say Anything, Campfire Tales (with AJ, Rainbow, Rarity), Marks and Recreation - 5.

Starlight's starring roles includes All Bottled Up, A Royal Problem, and To Change a Changeling - 3.

Discord's starring roles only includes Discordant Harmony - 1.

__________________________________________________________

So judging by these stats, and the number of episodes we have left, that leaves Uncommon Bond to most likely be a Spike episode (with or without somepony else). It better be! He needs his fair share! John de Lancie doesn't remember voicing this season so it can't be a Discord episode. The Mane Six are going to rule the finale I'm pretty sure!

I don't understand what you mean by this. In this episode, Rainbow learned to appreciate her parents, while Scootaloo learned nothing.
