Amazing and No. Starlight will still have a decent role but not a MAIN one. I think that's set its course already! Season 7 will depend though, I really want Babs to appear again more than anything else!

Well for all of the complaints that Season Six received, they did show that they are willing to try new story telling approaches. I'm hoping and expect to like it overall, even though you will have one or two episodes I probably dislike, a few I think are harmless but a little light on fun/laughs/depth and a few like, and one or two that I think are those 'God Tier' episodes. Basically, like every other season for me.

 

After the finale, I'm not sure how significant Starlight will be, but I expect dedicated episodes to continue.

"Good" and ..."no" are what I want to say. I don't mind Starlight getting a spot with the mane 6, but I don't want her hijacking all the main roles while the mane 6 get screwed for it, have her work with them(and not just Twilight) and I'll settle.

 

As for the quality, I always want them to be good, but whether I think it'll actually be good is another story, especially after S6

They've been very secretive about it given we haven't even had a basic animatic but I have no doubts that this will be another good season that adds more lore, world, and character building. Starlight? I wouldn't mind seeing her in the main role yet only to a certain extent. She still needs to go that extra mile before I can say that I like her as a character.

I imagine the show will truck along at about the same quality as it has been for the past couple of seasons. These writers know what they are doing (for the most part). What will be interesting to see is if they tie the show into the upcoming movie at all.

Less Rarity and Rainbow Dash. That means no Daring Do episodes, no "pranking" episodes, and no PPOV-like episodes.

 

An episode where Twilight and Applejack are the only ponies appearing in it.

More Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy, with Pinkie not sharing any episodes with Applejack, Rarity or Rainbow Dash this season (like in Seasons 2 and 3). They especially need some major roles together, and Pinkie also needs a CMC episode (since she's the last Mane Six pony without one) before Spike or Starlight can have a chance for one.

Well, I get really skeptical when it comes to what should happen next in this season, such as whether there will be episodes that'll literally end up being identical from previous episodes; same story but everything else is different.

If season six was any indicator I'd say its going to be Meh with some actually good episodes sprinkled in there to make the meh episodes that much harder to watch.

What needs to happen is that only 8 episodes this season can either focus on Applejack, Rarity and/or Rainbow Dash because last season, their total major roles totaled to about 12, which is a little more than how much they got all together in Season 4.

 

Though some people keep saying they might get a lot of attention for another season. But really, they shouldn't.

 

On the other hand/hoof, at least 6 episodes this season should either focus on Pinkie Pie or Fluttershy, 2 of them featuring both.

 

Put them all together, that's a total of 14 episodes, added together with the two-part stories makes 18, which leaves 8 episodes left for Twilight, Starlight, Spike, CMCs, and any other ponies out there.

Some good, some meh, some bad. Not sure what to the total ratio will be, but I'm optimistic for more good than the other 2. Only time will tell.

 

As for Starlight...I'm hoping she's demoted to supporting character. One my big issues with S6 is how she played such a big part after being added to the cast so soon (even if she did get some better chances at redemption). So I prefer she appear less and not steal the Mane 6's thunder as much.

 

...though knowing them, she'll probably become an Alicorn with Twilight as her mentor/sidekick (and the Other 5 (further) reduced to minor characters)

I hope it doesn't come to that! I want the Mane Six to say, thank you very much! Unless we move to G4.5.

What's REALLY annoying is that, for a season with a theme of "Explore equestria" we got almost NO exploration! Just old places we've already been to with manehattan and canterlot

 

More places like the dragon lands and griffonstone would be greatly appreciated.

Ignoring the rainbow dash part (Who is my favorite character so I'm biased), Rarity is INCREDIBLE as far as episodes go, with her episodes being consistently the best in the series with the least bad ones-- there may have been pony point of view for a bad one, but then you have just SO many good ones like Saddle and row review, inspiration manifestation, art of the dress, for whom the sweetie bell tolls... Rarity is GOLD for slice of life.

Assuming that issues 51-53 are connected to season 7 in the way i'm thinking, Shadow Lock seems like an interesting villain so far.
