spoiler What will Rainbow Dash's parents be like?

So we were told that Rainbow Dash's parents Windy Whistles and Bow Hot Hoof. We weren't told much more than that's though.

 

There are still a few questions this raises. Why haven't we seen them in important parts of Rainbow's life? What are they like? Where are they now? Do they even know what she and the other Mane Six have been through? Did they disown her? Do they not care for her? Does she get paid enough from Weather duty to live on her own without their support? Are they perhaps dead? What do you guys think?

I'm calling it. They're gonna be incredibly successful/famous parents who are quite different from RD(who didn't want to follow in their footsteps), and while they usually mean well, they're often neglectful and distant of their daughter

I don't doubt there's any possibility in that, Megas, but it just sounds sad.

They took care of Rainbow Dash ever since she was a baby in her mother's hooves, and now she's grown up and it feels like they purposefully got rid of their own daughter after all those years? That's more emotional than the thought of Applejack's parents being dead.

But we have, back when their names were Rainbow Shine & Rainbow Blitz.

Not to sound heartless, but from a storytelling perspective, it does spice things up a bit. I mean, so far the worst we've gotten was Rarity being different from her parents(but nothing bad), bickering siblings, and Fluttershy's brother being a prick. Giving them some real tension could lead to a lot more interesting stories

They confirmed not to long ago that that stallion isn't her dad, and that other pony was just a generic BG pony for the longest time :/

Yeah, but having parents that don't care for you is already a recipie for disaster.

We've already seen how much of a bad influence Spoiled Rich was on Diamond Tiara. Compared to those things you've mentioned, I think the idea of Rainbow Dash not being cared about by her parents is the worst thing that's possible to happen.

I never said they didn't care about her. Like I said earlier, they usually mean well, and they clearly love her, but a combination of many things(like a busy schedule, important events, etc.,), would cause them to not spend much if any time with Dash, causing some unintentional neglect. I'd also like to think they had Rainbow Blaze take care of her most of the time, who is probably her uncle(they're most likely related). They'd be like Filthy Rich, or Charlotte Pickles from Rugrats: a good person at heart, but doesn't translate well into a good parent

Bear in mind, this is all pure speculation/headcanon, so don't take it to heart

Given how they are said to be overbearing, I can also imagine that they could be too supportive and caring for Rainbow Dash, which she would feel embarrassed by.

But however they act, I just think it is cool that we are finally going to see them this season.

I think they're going to be the embarrassing type. The pony most obsessed with being awesome and looking cool will have the least cool least awesome parents imaginable. 

Just my bit of speculation.
