Midnight watched the exchange between the three ponies, thinking. Are ponies really that judgemental over a species? Why can't they just show respect? And if maple is afraid to be herself, then what does that make my friend? he shook his head, trying to stop the train of thought. "I don't understand why anypony would want to judge you" he said, possibly intefrupting the conversation." He looked over at wiiguy, and back at maple and sighed. "Listen, my friend spent years trying to be the perfect model of what other ponies think a pony should be, and it isn't healthy, mentally or emotionally. You can't just risk throwing out who you are to please others. I don't want a mindless robot that just goes around pleasing ponies just son they can score friendship points. I know being who you are is risky, but I'd rather have a pony that wants to be somepony they are, instead of who they aren't."

"Oh I think I remember that now. It was so I could scare the others... They did enjoy that but I remember I didn't" She said remembering that bit of her history

Midnight was slightly agitated, and opened his mouth to say something. "Well, i want you to realize tha-" he paused. He looked at maple and calmed down. "Just get out of the bush maple, whatever problem you're going through your parents and your friends can talk about it. Just come on and well go." He smiled. "Even if I have to drag you out of there by the hoof." He said jokingly.

Will finished up by saying to the parents, "Well, my items may have temporarily turned a Pegasus into a Bat Pony. Turns out it can work the other way too." I hope they're catching on to my meaning.

Maple stood up "Alright." She said before heading through the door. "Hey. Mom. Dad." She said nervously.

Fluttershy

"What do you mean by..." When Maple walkied in Fluttershy screamed rather quietly just due to general shock and passed out.

Discord

Discord, on the other hand, laughed needing to cover his face with his paw. "Maple. Why did you want to do that exactly? Did you do it to scare your mother... Becuase if you did that's not a good reason."

Maple

"No! No! It's because I want to be a pegasus for a while." Maple said "I want to see how differently ponies view me with feathered wings."

"I honestly don't know." Midnight told maples parents. "Oh, how rude of me, Midnight Controller, that's my name." He looked at discord, then at maple. "Honestly, why? Why would a captain of Luna's royal guards want to be somepony they're not?" The realization hit him. "I see, fear. I understand a vampire fruit bat is something interesting, but I already have a friend that tries to be somepony they aren't. You don't need to please ponies by changing a form."

At Midnight's words, C. Will switched out. "You don't need to please ponies by changing a form, you say" C. Will repeated his words even taking on Midnight's appearance when he said those words.

"First of all, I'm a Changeling. Changing forms is what I do. Second, I change forms usually to help my Unicorn Host with his talent of telling Disney Stories." He said, as he changed through several Disney character forms. "Thirdly and be honest, who is this friend who tried to be somepony they're not?"

"Midnight, Dad It's ok. I'm not going to stay this way, and it's not to please others I just want to again See what my life could've been like." Discord gave Maple a disapproving glare causing her to freeze up a bit

"I'm not sure why you want to. I mean if you're telling the truth what if you like 'being normal' over Being the honorable Captain. Things like that you really need to consider." Discord said grabbing a mirror which showed Maple's reflection as a bat pony. "Look at yourself now. I know you think you don't belong in the two groups of ponies but that's because you're unique Maple. I don't care how temporary you may think it is this is something you need to hear."

"That's not what I meant." Midnight said, but he could barely contain a giggle at how precise the form of himself was. "I mean, personality wise, throw out everything you are in order to make ponies happy. If you're doing stuff like that for fun, its okay." He looked at the changeling. "The friend I know, spirited dreams. Earth pony, over in in the small house with blue flowers along the sides of the house. He goes around pretty much saying yes to everything even though he doesn't agree with it.basically, he's afraid of being tossed to the Timberwolves for saying something against majority opinion, that's why he agrees with it." He sighed. "Its sad, but he just wants people to appreciate him. Which is why maple wanting to become a pegasus to make ponies happy kinda hits close to home for me."

U. Will switched out, facing Discord and Midnight. "Look, I was just trying to help a friend. That's the kind of pony I am." He directed his attention to Discord. "But, if you want to punish me by throwing me into another dimension or something, then go ahead."

"If that's okay, fine." He said. "Oh!" He took out a book labeled "History of the crystal empire" and handed it to fluttershy. "I'm supposed to give this back to twi later, but I'm kind of busy at the minute, can you return it for me?" He asked.

Discord took the book "I'll make sure it gets back to her so no worries. Midnight was it... Let's make your coat match that name." He said snapping when he did Midnight's coat turned VantaBlack with small white spots on it making him look a lot like a night sky. "There is that better?" HE could barely hide his amusement and he failed

Midnight looked down at his coat in horror. "oh come on! Orange is my favorite color for Luna's sake!" He yelled, but smiling.  He looked like a painting of the night sky, however his cutie mark, a game controller, remained unchanged. It doesn't even match with my hoodie, either. He thought.

Midnight shuffled a bit, trying to figure out weather to laugh or be emberassed at the bad puns. "Well, thanks for that." He said, pulling off his hood. I really need a mane cut, this stuff is getting too long, he thought to himself.

He laughed, and looked at discord. "No sir, no romantic interest in any pony whatsoever. And plus, if I tried to hit on her, she would hit me back, and not with love letters, but with big metal spears." He looked up aty the window maple claimed into "I thinks she wants to be appreciated, that's all."

Discord shrugged "Despite popular believe Maple really does like romantic actions. She just acts like she doesn't on the surface. She's a very sweet pony and this is probably a result of that kinda harsh exterior." He shrugged

"Simply put," Will said to Fluttershy "I allowed Maple to temporarily become a Pegasus using the very same items I used to help you temporarily become Flutterbat on that one Nightmare Night years ago. She can easily switch back to her natural bat form with a bite of the BatPone Apple. I did this as a gift between friends."

"Ah, I see." Midnight said, remembering maples reaction when the blue earth pony came by earlier. "But like I said, I don't really have anypony I love romantically. Im just not ready to go down that path yet." He stifled a laugh. "Not that I'd have any chances with hers anyways. She the captain of Luna's royal guard and im just a pegasus from cloudsdale"
