I would like to see both, but I tend to enjoy the movies more. Not that the three episode-length specials were bad, I just don't think they are greater than the sum of their parts.

Spoiler

I wish we could get a movie or at least another special about Starlight's adventures with the human Mane 7. She was the best part of Mirror Magic for me; Juniper Montage is a bit of a mess IMO after the events of Movie Magic. We need a better villain if there's going to be someone messing with Equestrian magic. Like the Dazzlings!

I don't mind more movies, but just give me an entire tv series at this point. The specials really feel like they want to go for it

Yeah, I get the sense they maybe testing the waters. There is also the possibility of them doing a show and movies. I honestly like the movies a lot better though.

I feel like if they should go for a spin off of "Friendship is Magic" it should be with characters other than the mane six.

I mean we already get enough of the mane six in Friendship is Magic.

I agree.

Also, yeah I really liked starlight in mirror magic. Would be cool to see more of her in the series.

Dunno, most likely, they'll return to movies by next year now that the pony movie is out of the way, assuming they aren't planning something else of course :please:

If they do go for a full series, they should at least come up with a full opening sequence for the episodes rather than the boring one we got with the specials. Maybe use the remixed FiM theme from the first movie.

And while they're at it, give us some songs! At least one every couple episodes, assuming Daniel Ingram is fine with working on another series at the same time as FiM. For me personally, the music has been the best thing about the movies.

Movies do allow for more content but it comes at the cost of only having one Equestria Girls related project per year, something a lot of fans don't particularly like. At this point, I think having more specials would be a good idea so as to give EQG more slice-of-life experiences and eventually getting its own television series. There is much about this world that remains unknown and a series would allow for an exploration into this world.

Just give us an EQG TV series already.

The specials have proven that the franchise can work in 22 minute increments and I feel now is really the time to do so.

There are apparently shorts coming at some point. Turns out those Russian music videos that surfaced a while back were actually Russian dubs for the shorts instead of being from the specials. I thought heard something about another movie a while back, but I don't think that's confirmed. Plus this tweet seems to contradict that:

I wouldn't be against another movie or even more specials, but I'd also be interested in a TV series if they were to make one.

The movies are a little bit enjoyable in my opinion.

I agree. I think another movie would be fun, but I'm deathly afraid that it would be subpar. I am really liking the specials and I think Hot Rod is right. I think they may be testing the waters to see what kind of feedback and draw they get form 30 min episodes of the girls.

I personally would love a series of EG simply because I adore Sunset Shimmer and it doesn't seem likey that she'll be returning to Equestria permanently.

I completely agree with more music and an actual theme song. Granted the guy has been preeeaattyy busy with the movie but in the future, whether movies or shows, I would love more music!

I liked it actually more without theme song. It is faster and we'll get more time for the actual show.

Or with the regular theme song but humanized. :3

I think movies really NEED to be epic, which is a problem - an episodic format would let us get episodes that aren't all about the (hu)mane group, but could give us cmc or crystal prep episodes, with or without Sunset being awesome or RD being 20% awesomer :D

Personally, I think they should go for a series. Sure, the specials weren't fantastic, but they clearly showed what great things EQG could pull off in a 22-minute format, especially given what's established. And, a lot of the time, I think they succeeded. Granted, I do think the TV movies are a little better quality-wise, but at this point I do think a change of pace and direction would be very greatly appreciated.

Also, with just how many things were established in the specials (especially in "Mirror Magic"), many of which feel like we are going to see and more that I really want to see, part of me kind of thinks that's just what they will do.

Honestly, I just really hope Comic Con gives us some idea on what we can expect next. Apart from the rather vague fact that we are getting YouTube shorts, we literally have zero idea on what it will even be, right down to what format it will take. And that especially sucks for me because "Mirror Magic" just left me wanting more.
