general Dogs vs Cats???

I've always loved cats, and cats have always loved me. I used to hate dogs, because they'd bite and bark at me... but my aunt has a westy that looks like this:

and he kinda helped me be less afraid and put off by dogs.

 

I used to know a cat, and I like to say I we were friends... The last time I saw him I knew it would be the last time, somehow I knew. He was run over a little while after that. So I have a really personal thing with cats

I'll take cats. I don't handle animals of any kind very well, but if I had to pick one or the other between cats and dogs, I'd definitely take cats.

With my recent experiences with dogs, definitely prefer cats as I have yet to see one as violent as my dad's dogs can be.

I love cats for their intelligence and laziness. Particularly in the laziness department, they remind me a lot of myself.

I know that I'm presumably going to be lynched for saying this, I really don't like dogs. They're so loud and inelegant. Not my sort of animal at all.

I like both, but I'm definitely more of a cat person. I love their independence and mysteriousness. They're also probably the most low maintenance pets ever - I only have to feed mine really. They go outside and piddle and plop well away from home so I don't have to clean it up haha.

Just going to be honest, from life experience... Cats > birds > fish > horses > every other animal besides the above and dogs > dogs

Really like cats and have only met a couple of dogs ever that I could even reasonably tolerate at best lol. Not that there aren't great dogs out there - I am sure there certainly are, but they're certainly not for me.

I think dogs are better than cats, as they don't scratch and don't trigger my allergies like cats do.
