Help! I’m totally obsessed with spike~!

Ever since I’ve been watching my little pony, I’ve found spike so endearing and adorable! His cute little dragon face and personality traits are interesting yet often overlooked I feel, I think he’s relatable, lovable, and has a lot of flaws, yet is pure at heart which is overlooked by many fans as well

mostly I find him relatable due to his depiction in the show and how he is presented, in a way I feel like him (doing chores, having a crush, feeling like I don’t belong) I love him! 

 

(Yes he needs better episodes I’m just talking about him as a character!)

I used to have a massive obsession with Twilight Sparkle back in the day!

Although Spike does have some bad episodes, its fine, he's a good character and Twilight just wouldn't be Twilight without him!

About me, i am a bit obsessed with Starlight for some reasons. 'Starlight' keywords in internet are so addicted that i always click them without my control, i keep to remind myself that there are other characters in the show that i loved too but it doesnt help.

Spike is great. His existence holds up more of the show than he's given credit for, in my opinion. Twilight's character is basically incomplete without him by her side. He gets a bad rap in some circles, but I think he's had a good run as the more vulnerable young character he's been. There's really only one of his episodes I acutely dislike myself. Even if he gets few focused episodes himself and few of amazing quality, I'd even argue he's more important character glue than most individual members of the Mane 6 in at least 3 seasons.

In all seriousness, though. Nothing wrong with that, go ahead and like Spike as much as you want. I, myself, have downloaded over 100 Starlight pictures on my hard drive. Don't do that, though.

There's nothing wrong with being obsessed with Spike or any other character as long as it doesn't interfere with your daily life.

Spike is one of the most memorable characters in mlp. He never complaints and enjoys has life where many people would have left Twilight for what he has too do.

When was the last time he had a bad episode? C'mon! People on this post are talking like he had a bad episode recently, which he hasn't! His only problem right now is that he's not having enough episodes so he can develope more!

He hasn't been in a bad episode since Princess Spike which was back near the beginning of season 5. It feels like a lifetime ago. o_o

As for the OP, having an obsession with a single character is a double edged sword. The downside is when he gets excluded it's a disappointment. The upside is being focused on a single character tends to last longer than being a fan of a series in  general (at least for me) and that propogates into the rest of show.

For example I still watched CSI all the way to the end of the series, but it was more out of a sense of duty/tradition than me looking forward to seeing a new episode. Thanks in part to Spike, that hasn't happened yet for MLP.

I have my little shrine of desktop icons that link to episode screenshots of my favorite dragon to cheer me up when I'm having a stressed out day at work.

As long as your character obsession isn't causing you to lose sleep or not eat and you're not harassing his VA, then embrace and enjoy it while it lasts - having a character that lets you feel strong happiness, sadness, and sometimes even anger is a great ride!

Triple Threat, his only and not good episode this season, the only saving grace of that ep is Ember and Thorax pairing.

His performances in S7 are spectacular (Once Upon a Zeppelin, Celestial Advice etc), he just has some few screens and few lines that worth more over 20 minute of an episode. In Once Upon a Zeppelin, Spike just need 30s to become best character, as a Starlight fan, i am a bit envy.

Spike doesnt need episodes, he just need few minutes to become the best character.

I think Spike could use some more resounding episodes, as in the episode has a greater impact on the series and Spike himself, not that he hasn't gotten a few of those in the past (Like when he saved the Crystal Empire), but lately it has felt kinda dry. 

It was also from a Spike episode that we got this super cute scene of Twilight and her friends waving Spike off

I disagree to that last part. Spike is still waaaaaaaay behind on his development! He's on the right track, but he's needs considered a main character and he needs be treated as such. 30s of being awesome is what a supporting character does. That's a position for someone like Big Mac.
