movies/tv Dumbest movie you've seen

Tropic Thunder.

The humor was bad, the plot was bad, everything was just bad. I actually started to feel sick while I was watching it, and I was out of school for the next week because I had the flu.

I often tell people that the movie made me sick for an entire week.

I'm kinda neutral on that film. I kinda liked it for a dumb comedy film with snippets of action thrown in (kinda like The Avengers *ba dum tist*)

My favorite part though is also my worst issue with it... the idea behind it and the marketing. The idea behind it was amazing! It was a satire of action films and action film stars, even to the point where it had fake trailers that were parodies themselves!

But what sickens me a bit about it was how it was marketed. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the previews and trailers did not mention that Tropic Thunder was about the making of a film. They portrayed and action-comedy based on the Vietnam War which is okay I guess, but that's NOT what I liked about it at all. It's almost insulting really, like false advertisement!

I guess the heads of marketing thought the concept of the movie was too risky so they just portrayed it as the film that was being made in the film, but not the film itself... which is dumb... really, really dumb...

Movies that I also hated the marketing for are SuckerPunch (explained above), Madea Goes To Jail (advertised as a comedy, but half the movie was some shitty Tyler Perry drama that I did not pay to see), and Remember Me (advertised as Robert Pattenson lovey-dovey film for the Twilight fangirls, but was really a good family drama with an odd twist ending)

Human Centipede 2

That exists?

I have yet to see the original, but if there's a sequel, even if a knock off, I am interested

The Last Airbender .

The idea of developing the show into a movie wasn't so bad, in fact, it sounded pretty awesome, but damn, M. Night Shamylan, what have you done ? I'm sorta easy to please when it comes to movies, but even I can't deny that movie was pretty bad. The only movie where I was like "ehhhhh......." after finishing it

Okay that may be a bit harsh to call that dumbest

I mean I HATE this film, but its still nothing compared to Dragonball : Evolution which may be the worst adaption of an anime I've ever seen!

Don't even bother. It tries to be all "meta" and it's about a retarded guy who sees the movie and tries to reenact it. I'd avoid it like the first one.

Rocky Horror isn't bad, its one of my favorite musicals because it dared to be different!

But then again you were probably not the one who made the chart :P

I actually love Rocky Horror. But I didn't make the chart...

I can't remember the title, but it involved aliens, zombies and terrible special effects.

Basically, aliens in shinysuits come to earth on spaceships held up by strings, but when no one takes them seriously (*Le gasp*) they bring back the dead, and apparently cover them up in horrible make up and teach them how to look like their having a stroke, rather than limping.

If you're thinking what I'm thinking, that would be Plan 9 from Outer Space, by Ed Wood. Black and white? Brief appearance by Bela Lugosi (all appearances of whom after a certain point were noted by the fact that he covered his face with a cheesy cape)? Big bald dude with a thick accent playing some sort of detective? If we're on the same track, I will agree that it was one of the worst films ever.

Right up there with Twilight (they don't sparkle, they tear people's throats open), Manos Hands of Fate (also by Ed Wood, IIRC), and anything by Uwe Boll.

lol Nostalgia Critic is great, though sometimes I can totally disagree with him.

Like with Pokemon The Movie he said he hated, well me granted the ending was rubbish "and the Pokemon's tears revived Ash" and the fact that they totally forget the completely valid lesson that would end the entire Pokemon series "fighting is bad"

Then again I have Pokemon The Movie 2000 which is pretty much better in every single way! :P

Pretty much, yeah.

Something else I'll bring up: Movies that intentionally try to be bad for the publicity. Those are probably the pinnacle of dumb movies.

Seal Team VI

Where do I start. The entire first half of the movie was a team of hulky guys doing push-ups on an aircraft carrier deck. Every few minutes one guy would look over the ocean and have a flashback fade on top of him at 50% opacity as he remembered his dead friend. Somehow everything looked blurry and had a mess of flashy effects to do with contrast and lighting even on the most basic scenes.

In every single scene, they were teasing each other in the stereotypical macho bravado way. Great entertainment, really enrapturing.

So after fast-forwarding to the 80% mark, they finally get orders for deployment. Cut to push-ups.

There is a ten minute montage of trekking through an Afghani desert, running out of water, and general complaining to get to the objective.

They are on the high ground and stumble on a situation where terrorists of some sort are about to shoot a random civilian truck driver. Acting like the professionals they are, they argue over the radio whether to save him or 'blow their cover'. There is a whole lot of dramatic dialogue. Truck driver gets shot, then seal team 6 shoots terrorists.

They reach the objective (via a cut to the front of some big warehouse at night) and ask the leader how they should go about destroying it/saving some guy/whatever it was they had to do there. He says to just go in and shoot everyone, then he will laser designate the what's-it and exfiltrate.

Here comes the big action sequence. Gunfire sound effects. The seal team run around the dark grounds firing back but there are no enemies on screen. I could actually see the orange tips on the plastic guns they were using. For some reason, there are trenches dug out so they hop in them. One guy gets shot but he lives and recovers at the end of the film.

The what's-it is laser designated. Cut to low-quality recorded footage of various US jets dropping bombs for five minutes.

The team escapes just in time because they leave these things to the last second. There are firecrackers going off everywhere.

Push-ups. Reminiscence.

American anthem during the credits.

:(

The dumbest movie I've seen is The Strangers. 87 minutes of the most mind numbing pseudo horror I've ever seen. Normally I wouldn't spoil it but its essentially 87 minutes of 2 people walking around their house while people mess with them, then they are killed in the end.

would make a better horror movie than The Strangers.

I can neither confirm nor deny myself being the cause of electrical related malfunctions. Anyways, you wouldn't happen to have a jar of replacement magic smoke would you?

The happening

First, the science, the movie wanted to make me kill myself, not the bucking plants.

The direction was il suited to the style.

And the acting was aweful.

But the plot was just sooo dumb.

Daft Punks "Electroma" Real piece of junk. I love Daft Punk, My fav electro artists but that movie was a bust. IDK how they thought a movie about depressed robots was gunna be good. Yea seriously, it's plot involved 2 depressed robots doing nothing for 2 hours and commiting suicide. Mind you it was completely silent. There was not one word spoken for 2 hours.

Strangeland.

Someone told me it was the scariest movie they had ever seen, so I rented it and brought it to a horror movie night with some friends. It was ... just ... awful.

Phat girls, while I'm completely for the moral of the movie, the way they handled it was, cheesy, sleazy and cliche'. Edited by Crystal Sparkle

~I love the way Storm Spark makes love to me! No one is as manly as he is~

Piranhas.

And no, not this one:

I'm talking about one that was just a bunch of scenes spliced together from different movies and footage.

The only part they actually recorded was the control center and the voices.

And the voices weren't in sync with the video.
