Theory Skystar has Earth Pony blood?

We all know the Hypogriffs are part pony, part griffin. But exactly what kind of pony does Skystar descend from? She appears to have enough strength to lift this big guy.

I dunno. The movie and overall MLP media states they are part pony and part eagle. Out of those who knows how hippogriffs are in real life myth, I'm inclined towards the eagle part, is actually from griffons  . Maybe their origins dates that stray earth ponies and griffons met at Mt Aeris, fought over territory, then some saw how pointless it was, made peace, some married, the first hippogriffs are born, and their ancestors face extinction in the area because because no more griffins nor earth ponies where born due to interbreeding, or the stubborn traditionalists left
