How do people react when you tell them you're a brony?

Surprisingly I don't get a lot of guff. I used to, but then I moved and the state I'm in now doesn't really care. It's so much more diverse here that if you say "oh, yeah, I'm a Brony." someone might laugh or smile or shake their head, but it's good natured and they keep talking to you, not avoiding you or calling you "gay" or "f*ggot"... so, it's a nice change. I get no real opposition.

My family is pretty chill about it. They didn't have much of a reaction outside of my brother teasing me a little. But I remember when I told my friends or other people close to my age, they had much bigger reactions. I guess we just care more about things like that than adults do.

When I just became a Brony in 2012 nearly everybody just laughed about it. Nowadays it's 2018 and most people don't know what a "Brony" is.

Alex, Alex! You're walking away from history! History! Did Chris Columbus say he wanted to stay home? No! What if the Wright Brothers thought that only birds should fly? And did Galoka think that the Yulus were too ugly to save? -- Centauri to Alex Rogan; "The Last Starfighter" (1984)
