I disagree with everyone calling Celestia a troll. She sent her sister to the moon so Equestria wouldn't be covered in eternal night. She is a fun loving pony who wants people to think of her more as a friend than SuperPowerfulOvertheTopMegaUltraSupremeDictatorthatRulesOverAbunchofHorses.

Guys don't forget that Celestia is still a Princess and still royalty. There are certain jobs that she just won't do...such as helping the guy with all the bags...that job is left for the filthy rabble.

I get she is a princess and shouldn't be one to work, but, she also pretty much laughs, like when spike was attacking the city?! She sent a few useless Wonderbolts. Not even a few royal guards?! FOR A DRAGON!!!! :o

Celestia? Kind? Comeon, we all know she is a iron hoofed trolling evil ruler, I mean.......She sends 2 tickets to sparkle insted of six or seven, and dose other things throughout both seasons

She gave 7 tickets at the end of the episode when Twilight wrote the letter.

Also, I don't think Celestia is a troll. She just likes to joke around alot. I love her personality.

But you guys are right about her not helping the town often.

Her ponies have to learn to help themselves, and learn from their mistakes. Like a good teacher or parent she can't always be interfering to do it for them

Did you ever think she did it on purpose to teach her a lesson?

I feel as though Celestia is one of three things...

1. She really doesn't care inwardly and is actually Trollestia. That, I don't like to believe and mostly false. Most of what she did can be easily justified and although questionable, she is a pretty benevolent ruler.

2. Celestia is a tragic princess and can't do everything she wants to do because of some other external power. Maybe she really is a good princess but can't do everything she wants for the ponies because maybe her council keeps her from doing anything or something. Really, this would be accurate but we don't even know if she has some external power when dealing with government.

3. Celestia does care but is only one pony and no matter how powerful, isn't omnipotent or omni anything. This is probably the case. She probably does care for the common folk but can't juggle her royal duties with caring for the common ponies.

Well the Wonderbolts go at much faster speeds that the Royal Guards and were able to slice through the spines on Spike's back. Seems like a much better choice to me.

They were probably sent ahead of a main force, due to their speed, in an attempt to keep said rampaging dragon occupied until additional help could arrive. ;)

After many (2) months of careful observation, I think I can safely conclude that Celestia is a very kind and loving leader. However, she is a bit of a prankster, and often enjoys a little adventure. This is evident the episode "Best Night Ever" When she stated that she was glad to have invited the Mane 6, because she was hoping they could liven up the always boring Grand Galloping Gala. Even though much damage was done, she really didn't care one bit. And just enjoyed the ridiculous, and slightly chaotic, behaviours that they brought along with them.
