Gender queer basically just means you're not cis but not necessarily fully trans either, it's often a term used by people who try to figure out their identity or are very early into transitioning and feel like that they aren't "fully trans" yet. It can mean non-binary, but it doesn't have to. It's a bit more broad. Non-binary and abinary should be the same though. Queer on its own is mostly used for sexual orientations other than hetero, really. It's very frowned upon by a big amount of people who are LGBT+, so I'd be careful labeling anyone but yourself like that. Here No Longer 5,276 February 25, 2020 Share February 25, 2020 (edited) I'm here and I'm still queer. Dumb funny rhymes aside, I'm still gay and non-binary, not much has changed there. Edited February 25, 2020 by Angel_Dust

I could say the same thing in more words, but I go by my sex when I talk about my sexuality, because if I didn't I have no idea how I'd term it in a way that doesn't become word salad or is just really long. The best I could say is that I'm a gay male that identifies as a non-binary gender. Edited February 25, 2020 by Angel_Dust

The page on gender neutral language and word usage here says "enby" is the term for that aside from of course things like "person" (which I find to be more preferable because I don't feel like I'm being catered to). Though I'd imagine doing so off-line would be a good experience to have. Probably imagine it like going to a convention where I find people like myself and I'm more in my element than at other public spaces.

So at most you may expect some questions, what I've heard though they are just nice. Personally if you do not feel like going alone maybe find an lgbt group close to you there will be people in your position. While I believe they are meant to be comfortable given it is a gender clinic if you don't want to go directly to one you could talk to a doctor and have them book you an appointment so there's that. 1 DA: http://fluttershyfan94.deviantart.com/ Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/user/Fluttershyfan94

Due to it being confidential that is, my advice just send them an email they'll be accommodating I'm sure. (I don't mean name or location, but rather what they do there) I do agree with Fluttershyfan94: You should contact local LGBTQ centers and/or groups (by the internet or phone, for now...). Trans especially. You are unlikely to be the only transperson closeby so they can likely offer advice and experience. I'm wanting to go to a gender clinic so I can begin to transition, like gender clinics here are like places to get a gender specialist basically (in a long way) fully make sure you're trans before starting hormones, speech therapy, etc etc Yeah, I saw a LGBT group on FB, but I'm not out to my family that I'm the BT in LGBT lol, so I can't without questions coming up that I dont feel comfortable quite at this moment
Treeglow Flicker 13,619 May 13, 2020 Share May 13, 2020 @Sherbie-kun I've been to a gender clinic only the once a few years ago. Initially I approached my GP about my gender issues and then was given an appointment to speak with a nurse specialising in gender issues. After which, I was referred to the gender clinic. All they seemed to do during that one appointment was run through a list of questions, some were pretty personal. But you only have to answer whatever you're comfortable with answering. I was pretty nervous about the whole thing. Not to mention completely and utterly stressed because of my parents. I confided in them that I wanted to transition because I genuinely thought they would help and support me, unfortunately, it wasn't the case. Anyway. I could only go to the clinic once, because I was unemployed at the time and didn't have the train fare to be able to travel to the clinic. I've taken a more clandestine approach towards my transition since then anyway.

Fluttershyfan94 5,742 May 14, 2020 Share May 14, 2020 @Treeglow Flicker I always find it sad to hear when the parents don't support it. Like although I understand their point of view I suppose I would think that they would choose to support what would have you feel happier. However rather it often becomes a hostile environment out of nowhere. In a way I have a similar story to tell but that story awaits another day to be told. 1 DA: http://fluttershyfan94.deviantart.com/ Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/user/Fluttershyfan94
