Welcome to the official Flaedr/Synth Crescendo music thread! This will be filled with everything (Pony and Non-pony) musical that I make. So first, let's get some important links in.

Anyways, how about a little introduction? I've been making serious music since about the beginning of October, however, I have been always wanting to make music for a couple of years now, but never had the software to do so. Finally in August, I decided to say "screw it" and get myself FL Studio 10, but never did anything with it until October. Right now, I would say my style is definitely more towards a techno style with some orchestral components, but I hope to soon branch my style to all different genres of music.

That's exactly how I felt when Captain Marvelous posted the Code Lyoko theme in the "What are listening to right now" thread. I loved that show so much!

Your music is really great! I used to use FL Studio, but I'm using Reason 4 at the moment. You should really try out Reason. It's surprisingly easy to use and you can do a heck of a lot more in Reason than in FL Studio. This is coming from a long time FL Studio users, but it's best to stick with what you're comfortable with. I'm actually using Finale the most because of my classical music training.

 

I can't believe I digressed. xD Do you use vsts or did you use the sounds that comes with FL Studio? Also, what edition did you get? Fruity edition, producer edition, or signature bundle? If you use vsts, I suggest checking out Synth1. It is a virtual synthesizer which lets you make pretty cool sounds. (It's free!) For orchestra sound, you may want to take a lot at the Eastwest/Quantum Leap orchestra. (NOT free D:) A certain guy we all know and love use that. haha Of course, if you already know about this, feel free to ignore me. xD I know an amazing vst for reverb though. It's much better than the one that comes default with FL Studio.

I'm actually using Finale

 

Ugh.... I really want Finale....

 

Do you use vsts or did you use the sounds that comes with FL Studio?

 

For these songs, I didn't use any VST's (At least I think I didn't), but I have been getting into them recently, since I just got FM8 and Massive (So... many... presets...)

 

Also, what edition did you get?

 

Right now I have Producer's edition, and I think I'm just going to stick with that.

 

Also, I have started my amazing final piece for Integration (12 minutes I'm hoping for), and with the pattern per time rates it's going at so far, it should have about 360 or so patterns by the time it's done.

I would also recommend checking out "ReFx Nexus." It's great for electronic music.

 

I have the fruity edition because all I really use is the piano roll. I'm not doing any audio recording. xD I got Finale because my music theory workbook allowed me to get a discount, so I bought it for 150 dollars. I'm pretty lucky. You can consider getting the student discount though! *Studying music technology at community college*
