In this Direct, we get Simon Belmont, Richter Belmont, Chrom, Dark Samus, and the Kremling King, King K. Rool (also pronounced Ka-Rool, for those who watched the TV Show).

Technically, Castlevania has been known to have ratings as light as E for Everyone (NES Games), T for Teen (PS1 and Rondo of Blood for PSP), AND M For Mature (the Kojima-made Castlevanias). It's a variable rating system.

Man that Direct was pretty cool.  I wasn't expecting King K Rool to be announced here, but given how much people pushed for him in the Ballot, him making it into to Smash make sense.

Also given that Castlevania gets an echo fighter, that means third party series can get echo fighters as well.  Given that Knuckles is an assist trophy, and Shadow is nowhere to be found, I assume he will be announced as a Sonic echo fighter relatively soon.

Most likely some time in one of the next two DIrects. I imagine that the next Direct will focus on Custom Moves, amiibo compatibility, stages, and characters. For all we know, I hope that Ryu gets some moves like Dan's Gadouken and Koryuken as custom moves. Daimando wants to make it so Shadow brags about being playable as if he owns it, when that happens.

Not surprised that King K. Rool finally made it in seeing as the Donkey Kong franchise was missing its key villain--several other franchises represented have had theirs--though I will give props to the trailer for teasing us before revealing him proper.

King K Rool looks like a nice addition. But I sure hope they're done adding third party characters. It already looks like we have a lot of them. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad we have Snake, Cloud, and Simon, but they're starting to get crazy about it.

I'm happy that King K. Rool is being added to the franchise, but I half-expected it, to be honest. 

The addition of the Belmonts caught me off guard, but I welcome it, as I never imagined characters from Castlevania being in Super Smash Brothers.

Never recalled the classic Simon being in a rated M for manly game . I think even Mirror of Fate was rated T . Anyway, Simon is for kiddies compared to Bayonetta, but I think she's rated T for........ I'll hold that joke . But we have Snakie, who already appeared in Brawl, from a mostly rated manly games

Getting more new characters is pretty sweet, I didn't expect any other new ones at this point. However...I really wish this Direct wasn't for Smash Ultimate AGAIN. 75% of their E3 Direct was Smash and right now, at least to me, the games outlook for the Switch is very mediocre. Then we get this Direct which is just Smash. I like Smash Bros., don't get me wrong, but I hope there is at least one more Direct this year that highlights other things.

I honestly doubt Lords of Shadow will get any sort of mention from Nintendo any time soon; which is a shame. The music from the first LoS was amazing stuff, and Gabriel Belmont was a DAMN fine character.

That said, having both Simon AND Richter is amazing in itself! They only need Alucard and the Castlevania contingent is perfect, IMO.

The problem for Nintendo is that Super Smash Bros is pretty much all they have right now. Of course, Metroid Prime 4 and Pokemon 2019 are a thing... But I'm fairly certain we won't hear a thing about either until after Ultimate is released. (I could be wrong on Metroid Prime 4, but Pokemon almost definitely not).

They really should have had more up their sleeve this year, but for whatever reason they didn't. But hey, I'm sure those sad excuse of Pokemon games will sell like hotcakes and will effectively put Nintendo and its fanbase into a frame of mind where they don't even have to think about how this year really wasn't great.

Super Smash Bros Ultimate is pretty cool, though. It could have just been another Wii U port, and it would have sold very well just like the rest of the Wii U ports. But Nintendo chose to make a new Super Smash Bros instead, which means they certainly still have some spark left in them. I wish Nintendo could have also had a better Pokemon game and Animal Crossing to really round out the end of the year, but what can you do?

It would be silly to not mention Lords of Shadow at all in Smash Ultimate. They can't pull the "they didn't appeared in Nintendo" card because many Metal Gear trophies in Brawl didn't appeared in a Nintendo game, plus Mirror of Fate pretty much kills that excuse. I'd love for at least a trophy for Gabriel, Gabriel is best Belmont

Seriously though, I guess this means multiple 3rd party characters from the same franchise are fair game, which means characters like Shadow, Ken, Jeanne and Ms Pacman are now a possibility. But I wonder if this means brand new characters are fair game as well and not just echoes, I'd love to see Raiden, Terra Branford and Megaman X too
