Smolder being Spike's offical girlfriend! (Theory)

Spike and Smolder have a close bond, there's no doubt about it! But I'm starting to move away with the theory about them being related. Who cares Spike's past anyway? He doesn't! He cares about his future, and Smolder could be a part of it! 

I can't think of a better way for Spike to end that stupid crush on Rarity than getting a girl who he relates with, is close with, is a dragon like him, close to his age, and who might share the same attraction! Rarity won't be able to take advantage of him anymore after this! >:) But who knows if she'll approve? Excellent episode idea!

Now Big Jim said they didn't want to give the Mane 6 any relationships, but Spike isn't Mane 6, is he?
