Hearth's Warming Eve

Do you consider the season 2 episode Hearth's Warming Eve to be a "Christmas" episode?

 

I know it takes place during Equestria's Christmas equivalent but I don't think they mention

 

Hearth's Warming except for when the ponies are talking about the pageant.

 

I was just thinking about this & I wanted to know your thoughts.

It's more about the Founding of Equestria and they discovered Friendship helps untie them against the Windegos.

It's definitely their Christmas episode but like most media they're afraid to make it too specifically so. It has all the look and sound of a Christmas episode but they customized it to make it more their own thing. I'll always consider it their Christmas episode, no matter what else it may be called.

It's their equivalent of Christmas, but much more secular. 

Just as the Disc-World has Hogswatch as their winter solstice and New Year holiday.

It's a lore dump ... Or at least it would be if we had lore. As far as Christmas is concerned, it lacks that warm, cringy feeling of a holiday special.

It's Equestria's version of Christmas, except that it has different traditons and history.

It felt more like Thanksgiving with a Christmas skin. I honestly prefer the later HW episodes

I prefer the later Hearth's Warming episodes, too. My favorite being Hearthbreakers.
