gaming Nintendo Direct September 4th

Hi everypony

It seems that tomorrow at 3 PM PST/6 PM EST we have a Nintendo Direct that will be about 40 minutes long, and promises coverage of Pokemon Sword and Shield, Luigi’s Mansion 3, and a few other titles coming for the Nintendo Switch. What else does everypony think may be broadcast during the direct? The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild 2? Super Smash Bros Ultimate? Feel free to share thoughts down below, and I’ll see you all there tomorrow

I'm open to Overwatch on Switch and I'll probably get but honestly I'd be much more interested in a CoD rerelease on Switch, even if it's an older game/

I have no idea what else to expect as there's already a lot of Link's Awakening, Daemon X Machina and Luigi's Mansion, so I wonder about what new games they have

I wonder what they're going to show here because even though a lot of it doesn't interest me, they have quite a packed line-up until December.

SNES on the NSO seems pretty likely. I don't really care. SNES games aren't much more exciting to me than NES games. SNES games a year after launching the service is just a piss-poor low bar (which, let me remind everyone that the Switch as a whole is two and a half years old now, which makes this so much worse). I know so many people would be so excited to see SNES, but at this point it's too little too late.

I think it's pretty likely we won't see Animal Crossing. I hope I'm wrong. I'd give it a 50-50 on that. We definitely won't see Breath of the Wild 2. That's far out in the future.

Pokemon and Luigi's Mansion 3 are the two most exciting 2019 titles IMO, so I'm glad the focus is on them. I'm still not happy with so many aspects of Sword/Shield, but the Galarian forms have at least made me interested in seeing more of them.

The leaked company for the SSB DLC character is very unexciting to me. I'm pretty sure I've never played or even had the interest in playing any game from that company. Joker was random (although I like him, because I played Persona 5), but the other two DLC characters have earned their spot. This one just seems random. But I don't know anything about the company... I just wish SSB wasn't becoming the irrelevant to Nintendo third party fest it is nowadays.

I always have my pipe dream announcements - a new Paper Mario in the style of the first two, or some form of Golden Sun revival (more significant than a port). But they're pipe dreams. And I probably mention them every time, because nothing ever happens, of course.

I'm waiting for N64 games to come to the switch, just so I can play BattleTanx: Global Assault again.

Animal Crossing looks great. Not much new was revealed, but what was revealed at E3 already makes it amazing. It was certainly nice to see it!

Otherwise, not too much exciting. More SSBU DLC after the fighter's pass has the potential to be exciting. Although the fighter's pass choices doesn't really lend me too much confidence in who they'll choose. For the love of god, please give us some first party Nintendo characters.

I've low-key always wanted Terry Bogard in Smash, but never expected it to happen. To see it here really warms my heart

Was a solid Direct, though not as great as the last one. There was still some great announcements, like Xenoblade 1 getting remade(though it shouldn't have closed the show), Jedi Outcast getting a rerelease, the Deadly Premonition games and Town

Also, shit they managed Sans too!

Animal Crossing footage was neat, but the Banjo gameplay has me sold. Also, Terry Bogard is an insanely good addition and I'll take that to my grave.

One of my favorite games is finally getting rereleased on the Switch. It languished on the WiiU because it wasn’t what was promised, and it came out at the end of the lifecycle. Also weird censorship. Great memes from that censorship, though. I’m so freakin hype. 

Oh yeah, Animal Crossing is cool too. But Tokyo Mirage Sessions! Now that is something special. <3

But Banjo's honestly looking pretty good. He has a really, really good recovery and fairly decent projectiles. FSmash and Up Smash are both pretty solid, though his jab is terrible and his jumps without up B are not that great. Seems like the first balanced character introduced into the game DLC-wise.

Might this game appeal to me as someone who played and enjoyed Persona 5?

I was interested in months ago, but when I saw the trailer and the idol stuff I was kind of like "meh", but I'm not closing my mind to the game completely because of that, as I'm interested in playing other Atlus games after liking Persona 5.

I've never played Undertale, but I'm not too bothered by the addition. He's just a Mii costume, which will appease the fans of the series (somewhat? I don't know, people seem excited) while not even taking up a slot. I mean the character he comes with is Banjo & Kazooie. Who can complain about that? Not even me, and I've never played a Banjo game in my life. lol

You can shift the color scheme of Obra Dinn. It’ll still be monochromatic, but less harsh. I can post screenshots later, but it won’t be for hours, and I may forget. 

I bought Tokyo Mirage Sessions to hold me over until Persona 5 came out, as I had already played 3 and 4 about as much as humanly possible, and ended liking it so much more. I really did like Persona 5, it was a lot of fun, but anyone I can get to even consider TMS#FE I consider a win. I’m hoping it’s uncensored this time, and maybe a soundtrack to go with it.
