I feel like I'm not allowed to/shouldn't change anything about my online appearance or I'll let my friends down. 

For example, changing my avatar from Della Duck to someone else or when I posted things besides My Little Pony on my DeviantArt page.

Aw I'm sorry to hear that, Sparkle. You should have any avatar you want! I liked the old Della Duck one, however I like you expressing yourself more.

Users say they like/they'll miss Della Duck any time I change my avatar and even though I love Della with ALL of my heart I feel like

I feel obligated to stick with Della Duck because that's who everyone recognizes me for/by and I don't want to let anyone down by changing things.

I understand that feeling. I once had a pfp that everyone knew me by and when I changed it - everyone got upset with me. However, once they saw that I stood my ground and wanted to express myself, they respected it.

That's normal. It's natural job of brain in minutes of stress to model dangerous situations for you so you could avoid them. It shall end when you will get rid of extra stress.

At first I was upset because when I changed the motherboard on the computer it didn't work. I enter the BIOS then clicked save and exit. Windows loaded. I don't understand why it didn't work the first time I turned it on. If I try to turn on the computer again tomorrow I don't know if it will work or not. Now my computer works. Now I'm very happy that I can use the computer.

I feel like both of our avatars are/were instantly recognizable and I’m trying to show that I have more than one

favorite character.

It’s why I changed my signature from Gen 5 MLP to Molly McGee to now having a Twilight Sparkle signature

and also why my avatar is Pipp Petals instead of a Disney character like I would usually have.
