Friendship Premier Racing Series

For over two years now, I've been wanting to do a mock league based on the TV show My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic after I found someone had painted the Mane 6 ponies(Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Fluttershy and Rarity) for the game NASCAR Racing 2003 Season, but I had never really the heart to do it based on there being no real tracks from the show so it would have to be based on real life as well as the lack of cars based on characters. After talking it out with a friend for awhile, I've decided that the league will start off with Season 1 being based on the 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series since 2010 is when MLPFiM debuted.

The cars will be ranked fairly for the first season with ratings being changed and updated after the first season. The drivers will all be characters that appeared in the show at some point, and maybe even a few from the movies. I hope no matter what your opinion is on the show or racing, that everypony/everyone can find something to enjoy about this.

Basically all the characters will have cars painted to look like them, they'll race with the computer controlling the AI, and just like with real racing series, they will race a 36 race schedule and whoever scores the most points at the end of the season, that character will be champion.

Practice 1 for the Apple Cider Shootout at the Daytona International Speedway has been completed.

Fluttershy, the element of Kindness, was the first pony to ever pull onto the two and a half mile superspeedway and became the first to take time in the brand new My Little Pony based season. For much of the 45 minute practice time, the ponies were split up into pairs of three, drafting together to try and get a handle on their cars and get used to drafting with one another, and when the session had ended, it was Twilight Sparkle, new to the town of Ponyville, who stood above every pony, just barely edging out Rainbow Dash for the top spot.

Practice 2 for the Apple Cider Shootout at the Daytona International Speedway has been completed.

For the ponies second practice of the day, the second session was ran under the lights, and like with the first session, it was a incident free run with all the ponies and creatures working together to try and get their adjustments fixed for the Apple Cider Shootout that would be run the very next night. Unlike in the first practice, Twilight would struggle to find speed and would place 7th in the rundown, while it was her faithful assistant Spike who would be at the top of the charts when the hour long.

Apple Cider Shootout

The Friendship Premier Racing Series made it's first appearance at the Daytona International Speedway, in Daytona Beach, Florida, for the Apple Cider Shootout.

Rainbow Dash led the field to the green flag after winning the pole position by a random drawing and would lead the first ever lap in Equestria's first ever exhibition race as over seventy thousand ponies were in attendance for the event as they all cheered on their favorite pony as the speeds between the nine drivers on the track was intense as well as the racing, with all of the Mane Six, Princess Celestia and Spike all working together throughout the race to prevent Nightmare Moon from trying to score the win, but Moon was the class of the field, leading for 23 of the event's 75 laps.

A competition caution would come out on Lap 25 to allow the drivers chances to make changes to their cars before racing resumed, with Moon once again being the head of the pack while Rainbow Dash would lose the draft and soon a lap and Twilight Sparkle would spend six laps on pit road to fix a broken axle, but Sparkle would get back on track and would finish under power. Meanwhile with less then five laps to go, Fluttershy and Rarity would draft together and pushed their way past Spike with Rarity playing defense for her friend for the next three laps but on the final lap Rarity made a move to try and get past her but ran out of time as Fluttershy scored the historic win.

Cherry Hill Ranch 150 #1

The Friendship Premier Racing Series made their next stop at the Daytona International Speedway, in Daytona Beach, Florida, for the Cherry Hill Ranch 150 #1.

Rarity led the field to the green flag but it was Twinkleshine who would lead the first lap of the Cherry Hill Ranch 150 #1 duel event as the battle for position and the lead would happen all over the two and a half mile track with drivers such as Apple Cobbler, Princess Celestia and Twinkleshine would all have their time up front leading the race, but when the race's second caution of the day came out on Lap 59 it meant that the race would be extended by way of the Green, White, Checkered Rule. When the caution had come out it was Parish Nandermane who was the race leader and he was able to keep a hold of his lead through the first lap and was leading at the White Flag, but a push from behind by Diamond Tiara allowed for Prince Blueblood to make a move in Turn 3 and was able to hold on, leading only the final half mile, score the upset win.

Cherry Hill Ranch 150 #2

The Friendship Premier Racing Series made their next stop at the Daytona International Speedway, in Daytona Beach, Florida, for the Cherry Hill Ranch 150 #2.

Rainbow Dash led the field to the green flag but it was Twist who would lead the first lap around the two and a half mile track as the 21 drivers raced to set the lineup for the Pony 500 later on in the week. The first six laps would have a different leader before Derphy found herself in the lead and would block for a few laps when the first caution came out on Lap 13 that would knock out Nightmare Moon, Twist, Spitfire and Fluttershy. After some more battling for the lead, Scootaloo would find herself in and lead and would remain in the lead for 13 straight laps before finally losing the lead before the race's second and final caution came out. Silver Spoon would assume the lead late before she was passed by Dr. Hooves.

Hooves would lead for a lap before he was teamed up on by Rainbow Dash and Derpy as the two drivers would draft together for the next seven laps, with Derpy blocking for her friend before she was finally passed by Ms. Cheerilee and Silver Spoon as the teacher and student worked together to try and catch the Element of Loyalty, who never once in the race left Derpy's draft when they found each other, as Cheerilee made a move on the Backstretch but couldn't pull it off as Dash would hold on and score the win.
