Why does it seem like Manehatten is mostly Earth Ponies?

One thing I've noticed about Manehatten is that it appears to be mostly Earth Ponies. This becomes apparent when taking a look at all the background ponies. Almost everypony living there is an Earth Pony; in fact I'd say the city has a higher EP concentration than Ponyville (which has been established to be mostly EP). I mean, there is the occasional Unicorn or Pegasus, but other than that - it's mainly Earth Ponies. My question is: do you notice this, and why do you think this is?

My guess is that Manehatten is the EP equivalent to Canterlot and Cloudsdale; where the city is highly concentrated with one type of pony. Maybe when the ponies settled in Equestria, Unicorns went to present day Canterlot, Pegasi went to present day Cloudsdale, and Earth Ponies went to present day Manehatten. It seems like a possibility, but again, I'm curious to see what you all think.

Pegasi prefer to live in the sky.

Maybe Manehattan is seen as less fancy than Canterlot, so less unicorns. Then again, Manehattan horses have a strong fashion sense, and like Canterlotian Pegasi, are rarely shown to save time for the animators

Oh, that does make sense. You'd think the hoity-toity attitude would appeal to more unicorns, but Manehatten is definitely still rougher that Canterlot. I'd also think that there are a lot of pegasi who actually do prefer living in grounded cities, but probably not as many as those who prefer living in the sky.

It's a shame that we didn't get to see more Canterlot/Manehatten pegasi. I actually think pegasi look great in outfits, and I think the wings actually add to the overall look of the outfit, rather than detract from it. Oh well.

Was not about detracting their wings with the clothes, but because it was extra work for the animators. 
same with kirin stallions, they’ve just removed eyelashes from mares, and poof, stallion. It was more work

Yeah, I see what you're saying. It just sucks that pegasi get the least amount of screen-time just because of convenience . But I'm starting to get a bit off topic .

Guess it has to do with how we see they stratiphicate pony society.

Unicorns are nobelty, pegasi are either industrialized or athletic/militar, and earths are usually merchants

It’s just like asking why there are so many unicorns in Canterlot. It’s a region thing, I think.

I mean, it's pretty obvious or rather difficult to notice for a few people. In any case: Since earth ponies usually are affiliated to the ground, they rather work and construct buildings to provide shelter while unicorns live in castles and villages. Aside from the lore, I think the show writers thought it was a funny idea to portray New York but with ponies in it.
