What irrates you about yourself?

My laziness and tendency to procrastinate rather than do things that I should be doing.

Damn near everything. My entire being. My multitude of mental problems, my anxiety issues, my bipolar depression, my lack of true talent, my lack of reliability, my consistency of failure, my meaningless ramblings, my appearance definitely, my nervous ticks, my total lack of life ability and probably more. There's always more negatives to be found about me.

My OCD. So tired of replaying stuff in games because it won't stop freaking bugging me about doing everything "perfectly." :maud:

I have that problem too, especially when I look at my feet and the floor so much:unamused:

I hate my imperfections. I know that no one is perfect, but I hold myself to unrealistically high standards and every little imperfection about myself bothers me.

I sometimes stutter and get horribly tongue-tied. I used to be an excellent speaker but somewhere along the way I developed a bad stuttering problem which manifests when I’m too excited or just really tired. It’s pretty embarrassing.

I'm not as smart as I'd like to be. And thanks to evolutionary biology, there's nothing I can do about it.

That I am little bit of a bastard. But at least I am honest about it. Also, that is part of the charm about my character. And... there are no two ways about it when you are stuck in the middle like myself. Meaning that there is suffering in this revelation. But there is also great joy. So, when all is said and done. That which irritates me the most about myself, is also that which I love the most about myself. Paradoxically speaking. This is what takes me to that perfect place where you can see everything with true perspective, and just laugh at life.

The fact that I'm a perfectionist, so everything I do needs to be exactly the way I want to be. I have OCD as well, which makes that problem even worse. I've learnt to accept and learn from my mistakes over the years, so I have gotten a lot better with that luckily, but it's just one of those things that still irks me. :adorkable:

At first I rejected the zero, but that was because I simply didn't understand it. Now I do.

I understand how you feel. Being a perfectionist can be challenging because we always want things to be just right. It's even tougher when you have OCD, as it intensifies the desire for perfection. However, it's great to hear that you've learned to accept and grow from your mistakes. Over time, you've become better at handling these situations. Still, it's normal for certain things to bother us despite our progress. Just remember to be kind to yourself and acknowledge the progress you've made.
