Did anyone have any VHS tapes growing up or even still have any? I don’t have any VHS tapes anymore, but I remember having some.

I think most of them are long gone now, but I had a bunch of movies and TV shows on tape, under the reasoning that 'I'll watch it again later.'

The one I played the most was a SpongeBob one that I could've sworn only had 6 episodes on it? I'd mostly watch it in a backroom at the office my mom worked at. It came in the classic nickelodeon orange plastic. I don't remember all of them, but it had "Wormy" and "Club SpongeBob" with the magic conch shell.

I also had,

"A Bugs Life"

"Antz"

"Toy Story"

"Dinosaur"

"Lady and the Tramp 2"

2 Different "Bob the Builder"

"Beauty and the Beast" including the in-between Christmas special?

"Peter Pan" 1 and 2

"Blue's Clues"

And some others I'm sure.

We still have one tape, but it has footage of me as a baby. My first step father was really into pirating, so we had a huge DVD collection at one point.

Most of mine were shows I recorded off the TV, I think. Maybe one or two movies, but hell if I can remember what they were.

I was born in 2007, so we didn't have them laying around the house. But I did find a VCR and some tapes. Sadly, the VCR didn't work, but I believe the tape is still functional. So as soon as I get a VCR, I will see what's on the tape, because it is not marked.

While I no longer have movie or TV show official VHS tapes, my memory is so out-of-random that I can't name them all.  But I do remember at best nostalgia owning A Goofy Movie and Toy Story 1 on VHS:Twilight-clap:  There were at count 2 Arthur season 1 tapes (4 episodes in total) I had before they both strangely disappeared:okiedokieloki:

I don't have any VHS tapes, I used to, but I found more convenience in DVD's because with a bluray drive you can support most of the modern formats including its predecessor DVD.

One movie I did remember having on VHS and rewatching was BFG 1989. VCR's had neat features in them that let us record TV programmes though which was nice.

I used to own various Disney movie VHSs and some Sesame Street ones. My Grammy also had a collection of Strawberry Shortcake ones. Can't remember any other ones we had.

If there's one I would puchase on the spot, it'd be that for sure :ButtercupLaugh:

I had most of the Disney movies, plus some others like Home Alone and Star Wars Episode 1. Unfortunately, most of them got sold by my parents years back, which does sting a bit, but at least I still have the VHS player.

At first I rejected the zero, but that was because I simply didn't understand it. Now I do.

Yeah, I used to watch VHS growing up, I'm pretty sure that's how I learnt to use a remote as a kid.

Whole bunch of VHS tapes to count, but my favourite ones were the Monster Truck tapes, that's how my obsession with monster trucks started, with all those VHS tapes such as Battle, Return, War Of The Monster Trucks, and Bigfoot: King Of The Monster Trucks.

I have literally thousands of VHS tapes. My entire collection was on VHS so when dvd came to the fore I had to replace many, but never got to all of them because VHS has a lot of titles that never came to dvd, especially the old or unusual stuff that you never see in the mainstream. I now have thousands of dvds, but I still have most of my VHS collection as well. They may not look as crisp as dvd but they still work just fine and they have certain advantages that dvds don’t, like the absence of menu screens that take forever to load and show a ton of spoilers before the movie, and the ability to stop mid-movie and play from that point a week later if I want, without having to wonder whether or not a dvd player bookmarked my spot. VHS is bulky and takes more space on my shelves, but I’m not giving them up for anything.

When I was a kid, we had a VHS player (not a recorder) and some tapes, some movies and some cartoons, though they were pirated copies and not factory made. They all were in Russian (the Western ones had Russian voiceovers) and I do not understand Russian, though for something like Nu Pgodi or Tom & Jerry it did not matter as there is very little talking in those cartoons.

Later I got a TV tuner card for my PC, but had reliability issues where the recording would get corrupted or randomly stop or some other problem, so I bought a VHS VCR in 2006 or 2007 and started using it - video quality was somewhat lower, but it was way more reliable.

Now I have multiple VCRs and still record VHS or SVHS tapes from time to time. Most of the tapes I have I recorded myself from TV and most of those are various concerts or music TV shows.

A year ago I bought some tapes about steam locomotives and trains in general.

While I am not using my VCRs as much as before, that is more due to the fact that I have a way to record/download from IPTV, so now I use a VCR to record from a channel I cannot get the other way or as a backup. If the provider ever stops me from doing it, I'll go back to using the VCRs more. My tape collection is not that big though, only a bit over 100.

There are a lot of tapes but many of them are junk and were donated to me by family members who didn’t want some of their less-impressive movies. Everything has its place, but not all of it is great. Fun to peruse though sometimes, especially when it’s hard to find movies for a certain mood.
