Carolina 212 July 1, 2012 Share July 1, 2012 Not really a moment, per se, but just an overall attitude I get from the show sometimes. Ponyville in general seems like a very cliquish town. There are quite a few episodes where the entire town pretty much shuns somepony just because they are different. Just look at Zecora! Must be tough to have everyone disapear and close shop just because you come into town. They also responded with mass hysteria in "Cutie Pox" when they believed Apple Bloom was "cursed." Luna was treated similarly, although, I guess in her case, it was at least somewhat grounded. Still, with the mob mentality they have in Ponyville sometimes, they may as well be sheep instead of ponies! Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I watched it once, hated it SO much because of how AWFUL and mean EVERYONE in Ponyville was that I literally have not watched it since nor WILL I watch it ever again. It is the antithesis of what My Little Pony is all about, and I genuinely hope that whoever wrote that particular episode was flogged and fired, and then flogged some more for bastardizing MLP, and my darling little Fluttershy. I assert that it was a poorly written fan fiction that was mistakenly animated.(Can you tell I feel very strongly about this?) Feel very strongly about what? My "meanest moment" vote goes to Trixie for ruining Rarity's mane. That was cold and very childish. She couldn't make something as beautiful as Rarity is had, so she just ruined it. But not ONE person mentions Dash's friends completely crushing her spirit in Mare Do Well just to "teach her a lesson"? The fact that they have to LIE to her face in order to falsely convince her that she's totally worthless for no good reason? Thank goodness Pinkie wasn't involved in that scene, at least. Sure, Putting Your Hoof Down has a lot of nasty stuff, but that was under the influence of iron Will, as well as the other mane 6 telling Fluttershy to toughen up. Mare Do Well is entirely their own idea, and the moral should have been that bragging is annoying, but secretly ganging up on your friend to make them feel bad is downright cruel. Really makes the show hard to recommend as a whole, when it teaches such a bad lesson. But there is a good fix fic for it. Man, I understand them bullying the CMC over not having cutie marks, but bullying someone for not being able to do something? That's pretty harsh. Also when those two ponies in Putting Your Hoof Down called Fluttershy a loser.
