Honestly, though, I don't see Luna ruling over her own kingdom, not with what we've seen from the show. It looks like she's more comfortable with a background role. I say let Celestia do all the hard work.

I'm with the Solar Empire all the way. The fact that Luna got jelly over the ponies sleeping through the night is just really petty to me. If she had a problem with ponies not caring about her night then make the night more interesting or give them something else about you to like. Don't have a tantrum like a little filly who doesn't get her way. -_-

 

Celestia on the other hoof has ruled alone for a thousand years and has managed to keep Equestria safe. Yes in the Canterlot wedding she was beaten, but I didn't see Luna stepping in trying to help. :okiedokielokie:

Think about it this way. From the moment you wake up to the moment you go asleep, everyone else is asleep and ignoring you. No one is paying attention to you. At all. Ever. After who knows how long of that (any where from 10-1000 years for all we know) that would make anyone crazy.

Then you find another reason for them to love you. She had countless options to make her life better and she went for the worst possible one. It not only shows how horribly impulsive she is. It shows she can't use common sense at all. Pretty obvious that ponies need sleep to function during the day. She wants to be noticed? She wants to be loved? She wants to be acknowledged? Then she needs get off her flank and do something else other than raising the moon. That's the definition of insanity. Keep doing the same thing over and over again and expecting to get different results. This is why she can't rule, she doesn't have ambition or the brain for it.

That and she had the nightmare forces slowly attacking and grinding away at her psyche. And you think that that's all she did was just raise and lower the moon? So far, cannon wise, nothing has been confirmed, but I've seen plenty of stuff where people have speculated on what she was doing during that time, and she wasn't just sitting on her plot, let me tell you.

Wish they had the same thought process for Celestia instead of making up outlandish things to make Luna look better. It seems to me Celestia is doing all the work around here and Luna helps ponies with their nightmares and goes on holidays.  -_-

This was all pre-nightmare moon. She was trying to do things to make the night better like make crops that would thrive under moonlight or something like that. I dunnno. I can't really remember. Besides, it's all just speculation until something cannon comes out.

Everyone is free to make their own choices.

I would go with Lunar Republic all the way. Where people express their feelings, instead of showing off pretty masks the whole time.

Where there isn't snobby behaviour, but sincere expression instead. Besides, I like to hang out in the night.

About Luna's imprisonment. If Celestia just would have listened to Luna's emotions, instead of what she did to her sister. Luna was alone in the night, she was hurt.

Some people sometimes adopt this reckless, aggressive behaviour, but inside of them, they're just looking for love.
