A few pages back I posted something about playing nice in this thread. Yeah. That didn't have an expiration date. Debate and discussion on another's unpopular opinion is acceptable, but when it exceeds several pages of back and forth, that should be a sign to take the debate to a topic specific to the item you are discussing. You know, for SEO.

This opinion could transcend unpopular and be flat out controversial, but I'm going to say it.

 

The Michael Brown thing got really out of hand. It was ridiculous. It's not like the kid was exactly a model citizen. I think if he would have complied with the officer, this could have been avoided. And everybody acting like a bunch of animals wouldn't have solved things either. "Yeah let's destroy the homes and businesses of anyone and everyone who wasn't involved with this! That'll show those cops!" That was what I thought was most tragic. People losing their livelihoods over one defiant, arrogant hoodlum. Do I think he should have been shot? I don't know. I don't know what happened so I can't render my opinion on this. Or, well, I could, but I don't want to without having evidence to prove what did or did not happen. Do I think this could have been avoided? One hundred forty percent, yes. Even if the cop was a racist and just wanted to shoot the kid for no reason, there was a better way to handle the situation than rioting. Acting like a bunch of animals makes you no better than the cop who shot and killed the kid. Actually, it makes you worse. Looting and destroying the businesses of people who had nothing to do with it is barbaric. I think the reason most people were rioting was because they had a reason to loot and pillage. The people who actually gave half a shit were peacefully protesting. 

 

I think racism is wrong. I think abuse of power is toxic. But you know what, Ferguson? How about there not be any cops in your town? If they're so bad and racist, then let's just take them all away and see how much better it would be.

 

I think it's these kids who believe they're hot stuff and they're above the law. And it's the parents' faults for not teaching them about a little thing called respect. It goes a long way, whether you're black, white, Vietnamese, Czech, Russian, Mexican, Canadian, Arapaho, Brazilian, German, Ethiopian, British, Chinese, Australian, French, Libyan, Seminole, Egyptian, Saudi Arabian, Israeli, Japanese, or whatever you are. Treat someone with respect and odds are they'll treat you the same. You teach a kid to respect law and the officers who enforce it, and he will only get into trouble once in a blue moon.

 

That's my two cents on that.

You know those Kidz Bop CDs, where children "sing" popular pop songs?  I hate those!  Not only is my hatred based off of the fact that those kids shouldn't be near a microphone, nor is it just on my hatred for almost every song that they mimic, but it's just wrong how they have children singing songs about sex and having sexy figures.

It pains me to say this, but that is not the case at all, as a Southerner myself. 

 

Town over from mine called Greenville used to have a very racist sign up proclaiming it had "the blackest land with the whitest people," and if I recall, it wasn't taken down until the '90s, but it was far after the Civil Rights movement in the 1960s. Even then, I still hear family members and friends use the N-word nearly every day, and it's been moreso than normal because of the riots in Ferguson.

 

Then we have these things called conversion camps, which exist for the sole reason to convert homosexuals into heterosexuals. I have heard about what they do in there, but I'd rather not reiterate on this site out of fear of getting a warning.

 

Lastly, I remember that the county seat in my relatively small county, Bonham, put up a nativity scene in front of the courthouse for Christmas a few years back. It offended a Jewish Family, and a few local athiests were unhappy because of separation of church and state and this was a state courthouse. Didn't want religion to play any sort of role in politics whatsoever, which I feel is understandable because this isn't a theocracy and we have the right to worship as we please. They succeeded in getting the nativity scene taken down, but a couple of houses were burglarized and vandalized afterwards and they belonged to those involved in the nativity scene being taken down.

 

One last thing - as an athiest myself, I remember when people at my school uncovered that I was athiest. I remember people would stare at me as I walked down the hall and I could hear them whispered. I ended up eating lunch in the bathroom for 2 weeks because I was afraid of being harassed for it.

I personally believe that most should go for the job industry after high school before college, to not only familiarize yourself for future occasions, but to take a break from learning, as college will feel underwhelming very quickly, as with work you gain personal experience and payment

-Sometimes I'm more attracted to the hot alien women you'll find in movies and in video games than an actual real life human chick.

 

-I personally think the iPhone 6 was a complete money grab. Besides the fact that it has a bigger screen and all, there isn't much of a difference in performance. Sure there's a few features that come with the device, but those same features can be applied to a regular iPhone 5 if jailbroken. I mean, what the fuck Apple? If that's the case then why not add Touch-ID to all the newer devices in the next Software Update. You really had to go and make a brand new device?

 

-I'm all for the death penalty.

Mako is the second best character in Legend of Korra, and while I'm very proud of the staff for going the direction they did with the last scenes in the finale, it bothers me that for many fans, he's being remembered as the guy who didn't get the girl(s) instead of as the guy who really grew up over the course of the series. When we first met Mako, he was a prickly and insensitive jerk who was rightfully bashed for his behavior. However, between his work with the police, his encouragement and always adorable (in a Makoish sense) love shown to his brother, and his learning the value of self-sacrifice from Korra herself, his development was fairly impressive. Wish it was recognized more.

Fluttershy is the most boring character, Rarity is best pony, reading is better than texting, snakes are absolutely the cutest things ever, I would rather live underground than in a treehouse, The movie Epic completely ruined any thoughts I had on small mythical creatures, asparagus is delicious, Diary of a wimpy kid is overrated
