I love Wobbuffett but yeah lets ban him. Oh and should I ban Keldo, Genesect, and Melotta? No one has been able to use them unless they have an Action Replay.

 

Well...you can directly download them to your game through a site called Pokecheck.com. Those ones were probably made with Pokegen.

Depending on when this is, I want in. I don't have a reliable work schedule now, but once college starts, I'll have a much better time of knowing when I'll be available. However, that won't be until early September, so I might just have to wait for a second tournament.

@, I don't think that we actually came to a conclusion on which one we're using. I'm fine with either one, though.

Also, just like Evilshy, once college starts up my schedule should be a lot easier to interepret, but I think I should be able to make it to the first one.

Lets use Showdown. Its more up to date with the metagame, it doesn't glitch out as much and its more visually appealing.

Yeah I think Showdown would be better because if nothing else it looks better. In that case how exactly do we organize a tourney with it? Can you challenge people or something?

You could ask a moderator on the website on how to start up a tourney and everything else you need to know.

I would like to join in as well. I have not played Pokémon since they moved to the DS though, so I'm unfamiliar with Generation 4+. I also do not agree with the list in the slightest, but I suppose things change and new TMs are created. And I suggest just straight up banning Wobbufet from the tourney because of already said side effect.

Don't agree with what list? The ban list or the Pokemon bans? Okay, have fun playing a game with no strategy where everyone spams Double Team to the point where even Ariel Ace wont even hit.

 

Also Red, I think we should make everybody list their teams just to make sure nobody is cheating by changing their teams to counter the opponents team.

Ok how about I send everyone a separate PM asking them to list there teams. Granted I'll know there teams but I suck anyway so it doesn't matter.

Yes only one team. So once it starts the Pokemon you have are the Pokemon you'll use until it's over.

This. It should be shown who everyone has when it starts. This way we all know what we are up against whether for better or worse and no one can change in the middle while they sitting on the sidelines.

So...my team is almost finished. Should I replace Magnezone with a Stealth Rocker? Because honestly my Magnezone trapping scheme probably wont work due to the fact that there is only 1 other person here who does Smogon competitive battling seriously.

I still don't have my team figured out either. I really want to use Typhlosion because he's my absolute favorite but apparently he's kinda meh. What would be a good replacement? Lucario? Alakazam? Vaporen? Espeon? I guess it depends on the rest of my team which may or may not be un-balenced.

I do not disagree with having a ban list, I just disagree to certain Pokemon on there (and not). But all of my experience is with Gen3-, so I understand that things change.

 

 

And I'm still working on my team. I have the idea down, I just need to finetune some things. Back when Gen2 was the shizz, I played against people all the time. But I'm so out of practice, I'll probably lose first round.

Oh I get it, you're unhappy because Blaziken is banned, aren't you? He's banned because he as access to the ability "Speed Boost". Which means he can set up a Swords Dance and Speed up in 1 turn, making it so no time is wasted setting up. He also has crazy high attack, and combine that with the ability to raise its speed every turn...its just awesome.

Typhlosion is just a Charizard clone. Same stats, but different Dream World Ability. Typhlosion also doesn't have the 4x Stealth Rocks weakness so I guess thats a plus...

Apparently Typhlosion has something over Charizard in the form of Eruption. Meh I think I'll replace him. But I don't what to use instead. Maybe a support Pokemon or something like that?

Supports never hurt, just do not get stuck with that thing being your last pokemon. Its never fun XD

I Recommend the site http://challonge.com/ for setting up tournaments, it's quite easy to use and offer various types of tournament styles.

DE (Double elimination) is recommended though, competitors who fall out on the first match in the winner bracket, still got a chance to get back in the loser bracket in the tournament. The chance to do so is smaller however.

 

As for the tournament itself... Why didn't i find this thread earlier, i would've signed up for it. x)
