Not enough options on the poll. My vote would be to let the show run it's course and whatever happens is what will happen. Sure a day may come when the show ends and the Herd falls apart into a fraction of the size it is now. But even if there are no more episodes the show, the world of Friendship is Magic, will never die. Not as long as there are those who remember it.

 

And I know for a fact that there will be Bronies who will stand by the show even after it has ended. I know I will be one. My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is the first form of entertainment that has actually had an effect on my life. Sure the dream of being a game designer came from... well... Video Games. But it wasn't video games that got me out of a bad place, that taught me how to be positive, and how to let go of a lot of negative emotions I had bottled up inside me for too long. No, it was MLP: FiM that made me a better person. So I won't be forgettng it anytime soon, if ever.

 

Also, My Little Pony will never die. It's been around in various forms since the 80s. If it can survive 20+ years and come back multiple times in various forms, it's certainly not going to end if they decide to bring G4 to a close.

As most people have said here, let it go on until they run out of ideas, then stop the show immediatly. No one wants MLP to turn into the crapfest that spongebob currently is......

Well as much as I would like it to run as long as possible, I wouldn't really want this if the episodes became boring and maybe they even changed voice actors. Voice actor changes would do it for me. It means the show is dying. So I'd say die with dignity.

I want it to die with some dignity. Stargate lasted ten seasons and ESPECIALLY the last one sucked. They got rid of almost all the original characters, and all of my favorites. (Doctor Fraiser, General Hammond, Colonel O'Niell.) I don't want that to happen to MLP.

 

Atlantis did it right, they had a beginning, and an end, and they stopped when they got there.

I would like to see it run as long as possible barring something dumb like a disney takeover and refocus of the series. Thing is no matter how staid the average episode gets there would always be episode portions that would live up to the memory and individual good episodes. It is the characters and the world. So long as the characters stay true to what they are I cant see me finding any episodes not worth watching at least once.

 

But you see -- that is why stargate failed at the end -- THEY GOT RID OF THE ORIGINAL CHARACTERS... IE if they were to defocus and follow other ponys than the main six to the point where you saw them once a year and pretty much never together that would be an example of how they could kill the show.

 

Will put it this way -- there is a lot of time between the episodes. Even if they ended up past a power point where things started to fall apart they could always do "Lost Tails" filling in the gaps in the older seasons at lower power levels.

I think we I would like it to go on for a long time, when it ends many people on the forums will leave, I am choosing to stay until G5 or until the forums shut down, then we can all bitch about how bad G5 is and how they should bring back G4 ponies

Every show ends eventually. Few shows do it well. If FiM is going to go at some point, then I would want it to go out with a bang. Big grand finale, including one of those "you're screwed" moments that you see in alot of series finales. If you want to see a great example of this kind of moment, watch the Power Rangers in Space 2-part episode, Countdown to Destruction (the episode that ended the Zordon-era Power Rangers). That's a "you're screwed" moment in a nutshell.

 

Every villain that was ever in Power Rangers up to that point was there. And the leader of the villains at the time, adhering to the Millenium Message, decided to launch a full scale invasion of Earth. This invasion was so massive and brutal, that even the combined powers of the Rangers wasn't enough to stop it, causing them to lose all but one of their Megazords, just to hold off the enemy. Cities on Earth are destroyed, and it seems that all hope is lost, until the regular citizens decide to stand up and fight. And they are led by none other than Bulk and Skull of all people, characters that started as bullies, but through the course of the various seasons became actual heroes. Of course, the Rangers do eventually win, but it's by the skin of their teeth.

 

And to put it bluntly, this kind of scenario is the most likely if the writers and producers know in advance the show is on its last season. At that point, alot of producers usually say, "Screw it. Since this is our last season, we're gonna do all the things we've always wanted to do.". This usually leads to some really crazy things, especially in kids' shows.

 

So will FiM have its own version of this? Well, only time can really tell us that one. But I will say that it would be a great way to end the series, if it did come to that.

 

Do I consider this the 'death' of FiM? Well, not really. There's a difference between ending a series and killing it. If it's done well, the ending should leave a lasting impression on the viewer that makes them want to go back and re-watch the series. That's the point of an ending. And this kind of thing is one way to make that happen.

I really don't know what I'd do.. I'd probably be sad that it ended, but I wouldn't want it to end like Pokemon.. for me to really decide it would have to happen. Sadly all good things (and bad) come to an end.

I don't even want to think about it dying right now. I just got into the show a few months ago. I want to at least enjoy season three before thinking about the show's cancellation.

I just joined this community so it would suck if they would cancel the show like after the third season. And if it ends than it will be well remembered. MLP is a huge help for me because it helps me to escape from my own mind what is right now filled with saddnes. And ofcourse the show has great morals and lessons to teach to everyone. I really learned something from it and i hope in the end i will become a better person in general.

So i dont really know and i want to know how should have my little pony ended... and i really dont care. But i think as long as these people are in charge than it will be good as season 1 or 2.
