What was your first week as a brony like?

I was a very quiet brony. I liked the show, but I didn't confess that I really liked the show yet. I didn't want to call myself a brony at the time because it sounded really weird, and most bronies I saw were annoying and obsessive.

So, technically, my first week as a brony brony was awesome. I learned how to use pony vectors in my art and I started improving drastically.

Later, (to this day) I'm more calm than before, though. I'm just waiting for something.

...Something we're all waiting for.

It was actually very awkward for me. I still couldn't believe that I liked this show. I really didn't want anything to do with it or even want to be associated with bronies (even though that I knew that I was one deep down inside). I started looking up more fan related stuff about the show like music and videos, and it made me feel a lot better about becoming a brony. By the end of the week, I actually felt the urge to show my friends the show, but I was able to hold myself back from that (though I did eventually show a few of them an episode, and even converted two of them). I'm not as obsessed now as I was during the end of the first week, but I still LOVE the show.

Well I was just psyched to find out how great of a show it was! So my first week as a brony ~ kinda lonely cause I was like there is no way I could tell my friends that I got into this kind of show. A couple days after watching the first season of MLP and was just browsing online looking at information on the show etc... when I came across MLP Forums out of the blue. I looked around for a while just checking out the place and such. I mean I had never joined a forums site before but i did know what they were. The place seemed really awesome and I joined! Upon joining I come to find some of the kindest people that I have ever met. So I guess you could say that I am thankful for becoming a brony. Becoming a brony has taught me to be tolerant of others & to always be kind to everyone because you never now what someone may be going through  . I really love it here.

I watched it on and off online when I had free time, while looking at various memes/clips in between episodes. I wasn't obsessed with it though because I didn't really like sitting at my computer all day long, so I watched about an hour or two at most per day.

But everything changed when I found the ponies on Netflix...

I had resisted what I had at the time called the "Brony Virus" for nearly a month. When I decided to watch the show from Episode 1 Season 1 I finally gave in.

At first it was scary to be honest. I was going into unknown territory, into a place that was as far as I had ever deviated from what was "expected of me". I was worried what would happen if people found out. Especially my family.

Oddly enough I've gotten more flak for being a gamer than I have ever gotten for being a Brony so everything worked out I think. ^_^

 Hmmm... my first week as a brony? Well, that would've been sometime back in February this year; it started with me watching some of Yaplap's shouting PMV's, but I can't really say I was a full brony at that point. However, I just kept watching more, and more, and more parodies, and the more I watched them, the more I wanted to get what was actually going on in the show. So, eventually, albeit, still reluctantly (I was, after all, quite self-conscious of just how bizarre it was for a 20 year old guy to start watching MLP, but hearing about the brony fandom encouraged me), I decided to start watching the show, and, well, it was a great first week.

I was interning in D.C. at the time, and there were only two other students from my school out there, so I got lonely sometimes, and I think MLP was just the medicine I needed; it was a wonderful way to unwind and relax after a hard day's work at the place I was interning, and just always put me in a good mood! So I'm glad to say that that first week was just the first of many wonderful weeks to come in which I went through the entire first two seasons and really got into the fandom!!! :D

I got into the series in the middle of Season 2. First week was basically watching Season 1 and previous Season 2 episodes on YouTube. It was fun.

The first week of me being a brony consisted of me watching around 10 episodes of FiM per day; for about 5 days straight. Then when I watched all 52/52 on Netflix (this was in early July), I started watching all the canon songs, and a few fanon videos on YouTube. Then I took a break for a bit. I returned from to the Brony scene in late August after my vacation, and that's when I joined the forums.

It was in July 2011. I was on some other forum and the people there convinced me to watch the show. I watched the whole first season in under a week (season 2 wasn't out at that time).

Then I started to hang around the pony thread. Fast forward a few months and I met Feld0 and Kurtiss on the same forums who were planning about creating a whole new forum just for My Little Pony.

I stuck around and signed up to their new forum. As you can see, I'm still here now, almost a year later! :D

First week as a brony went like this, I go to YouTube and see some mlp FiM episodes, think to myself "this seems more like season 1-3 spongebob than a little girls show", but my dissapointment wasn't how I was sucked into this great fandom, but rather "damn it, UFC 151 was cancelled!". Sorry but I won't lie, I put that before My Little Pony....

It was pretty awesome. I had a really high self esteem and was hooked on the show. I didn't want to stop watching it and got through about half of season 1 within a day. After that, I found the forums, and the rest is History.

I told people I was a brony by putting up a Facebook status saying 'like for a confession' and the first one I put was 'I am a brony'. The rest of them were just stupid random things (because my life is really boring).

I found out about FiM by complete accident, but after that I watched a vid here and there, and eventually liked the show. I was so scared of mentioning it to anyone that every single hint of MLP content I heard during my regular life made me chicken out and just...get out of there the first chance I got. I grew paranoid that people would find out by just looking at me, and every night of that week I would lie in bed and ask myself "why do I like this? how can I break it to my friends?" and the same answer always pops into my head.

At least, I dont have any friends that would accept the fact that I liked cartoon ponies..

I had heard Brony music before I was actually a Brony and loved it. I became a Brony on June 11, 2012, after watching the first couple of episodes. The following week I stayed up late at night watching episodes on my mp3 player, and I got about halfway through season 1. It was a wonderful week. From then on I started watching more and more and my love for the series only grew. I've watched every episode at least twice and I'm planning to re-watch the entire series a third time before Season 3 comes out.

My first week as a brony was exactly the same as many people's. I watched all the episodes (not secretly but I didn't go around telling anyone), discovered the fandom and all it's amazing members, I also discovered brony music and fell in love with it and I made an attempt at drawing a pony.

Surprisingly, I had no idea about the darker side of the fandom back then. I used to think that our fandom was the one pure fandom on the internet. Then I saw a related video on youtube called "Pony thread simulator" and discovered the shocking truth. Now I just ignore everything negative that has to do with MLP but it still kinda bugs me.

It was rather interesting. As soon as I realized on about day three, "Hey. I don't give a $%#& what people say, I LIKE PONIES," I felt better and just went along like everything was normal. I didn't get insulted by my parents (much, but they just insult me because they can, they don't mean anything bad by it,) and my friends were cool with it, too. It was actually rather nice.

Right, now I remember the show used to air at ungodly early hours where I live. Thankfully that changed but overall I'd say the most important thing was having something to look forward to.

  • 2 weeks later...

It was weird. I'd known about bronies abd accepted them, but I didn't understand. then, I watched the show and couldn't stop. Then, when school started, I wanted to explode. I wanted to tell everyone, but I couldn't. I don't know ANYONE mature enough to accept that I like ponies. Now, I'm open about it with friends and on the internet, and I'll drop hints to my bronyness sometimes, but I don't tell my peers, because they wouldn't get it.
