gaming GameStop to sell classic games (e.g. N64, PS1, Dreamcast)

Provided they even do this, what would be my incentive? I can use emulators and even if I wanted the console, I could get one off of ebay with more controllers and games for less than what it would cost at gamestop. That and Neo Geos are inherently expensive, though I may pick up their newest iteration.

I can neither confirm nor deny myself being the cause of electrical related malfunctions. Anyways, you wouldn't happen to have a jar of replacement magic smoke would you?

I wouldn't trust eBay on this. Sometimes, the seller would give you a fake copy and not give you your money back. It happened to me several years back when I was supposed to get SA2 for the Dreamcast and got the demo disc instead of the actual disc, so basically, I got ripped off. The seller never gave my money back, and eBay didn't even gave him a complaint, so... yeah. http://mlpforums.com/public/style_emoticons/default/dry.png

Idk, the Commodore 64 I snagged off of ebay arrived in the condition it was posted as. Only needed it for the SID anyways which works great. Though Commodores are a dime a dozen. Still would rather use eBay for a Neo Geo than Gamestop.

Please god, let this also happen in the UK.

Please. Please please please please please please!!!

Words cannot express how amazing this would be. There are so many old, classic games that I never got to play growing up, and I'd literally build a money cannon and unload a full magazine of said cannon onto GameStop.

Hey, Guess what? If they did this, They WILL have a new original customer. This would change my forever!

Seriously, I need to look at every single Pawn Shop/Value Villiage/Goodwill to find a good game to brag at people.

NOPE! I will always support the smaller gaming businesses that sell even more retro selection such as Atari, Colecovision, etc.

Plus, GameStop might price the shit out of older games, because knowing them, they seem to always have a $10 increase from other gaming retailers. The game place I work at now has a copy of the new Dream Drop Distance game for like 25 bucks while GameStop sells it for 39.99. It's bogus.

GAMESTOP JUST WON THE WHOLE FREAKIN INTERNET!!

Now,

Seriously, I'd end up spending a few hundred dollars on NES games alone, not to mention Genesis, SNES, N64, Turbografx 16, etc...

I wonder if they'll carry really old games like for the Apple II...

(Ultima FTW!)

Heck, I relive the classics every day. I stopped buying new video games seven years ago because nothing looked interesting anymore. The most recent thing I have is a PS2, which I still use as my DVD player. I also have a Dreamcast, a GameCube I never use, and a Genesis. That's more than enough gaming awesomeness for one person, and I'm lucky enough to live near the best independent retro game store in my state. Not kidding. All their games and systems are buffed out, cleaned and tested, many with their original manuals and cases. Insane variety, cash trade-ins...the place seems too good to be true, but every time I go back it's still there... O_O

I have been annoyed with GameStop for their complete disregard for old games and the poor condition of their used stuff, not to mention the prices. I never shop there. It's great they're finally offering this service for interested gamers who have no other place to go...but for ponies who do, hooray for us. ;)

Omigosh...

You mean...

I can get myself a real, beautiful, DISC copy of Grim Fandango?

...

I...I am seriously having a minor heart attack...

Gamestop doesn't sell used computer games :/

Anyway, this is pretty awesome. There are plenty of great PS1 games I want to get my hands on. And I don't see why people are complaining; Gamestop has a lot of faults, but if there's one thing they do well, it's underprice used games. The Gamestop here, at least.

I can just go to my local game X-change and buy a mobile NES/SNES system for $50.

This doesn't really excite me very much, sad to say xD

u gimme dat adres 2 dat playce rite nao or alse i wil eet yew

Really, though, that's pretty freakin' awesome. I've always wanted a portable N64... But a portable SNES would probably be really cool. Portable NES would be pointless. Can emulate that on like... anything, these days.

Mhhm. They have like, aisles and aisles full of retro games.

I'm pretty sure they still sell Atari's and all that stuff.

I'll take pics soon enough xD

Yeah, I have a place like that.

Problem is, they know what they're all worth, and then up the price because they're the only place around that has them. I've bought maybe 2 games there.

...Actually, I'm almost hoping this is a fake rumor now. There's nothing out there in the area I live in that sells these kinds of games and systems. I could open my own store and hopefully make BILLIONS a pretty decent living off of this stuff.

This can be good or bad, I mean it's gamestop. All they care about is money. And now that they have finally realized that people pay large amounts of money for old games, this makes me think they will be charging a lot for the "Retro" games. But if they don't over charge for the games then they will have finally made a good move.

Hopefully they get copies of Earthbound and don't realize how butthumping expensive it is, that way I can buy it and not make my wallet cry

Our game X-change sells the original Earthbound for about $10

Hopefully gamestop won't capitalize on how expensive it CAN be.

I'd sacrifice a goat to get Earthbound for the price.

Why haven't you bought it? I would've seized an opportunity like that instantly

Dude, buy that. That's such a low price oh my gosh. Those cartidges usually cost about ten times that much on Ebay, and like yeah
