NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH OKAMI AMATERASU. If you came here expecting a ponification of the wolf goddess, you'd be wrong.

This here was done for an art trade with the lovely Peppermint Feathers of DeviantArt. She drew my OC Pearl Necklace, and I drew her interpretation of Celestia's mother, Queen Amaterasu. This OC was designed by her, NOT ME, so don't give me the praise on the design. Here we go:

It's a girl right?

Haha jk, really good art. I don't see how everyone can draw these ponies so perfectly besides me :c

Anyway, her head looks a bit smallish though in comparison to the rest of her body. Must be me

I agree that the head is a bit small, but the mane and tail's colour coordination is absolutely beautiful when it goes through those swirlies. I don't know what I mean right now, but the colours that make her up are so... bright and awesome, yet not stupid and icky like some of those nooby OC's that we all know about...

The bottom of the tail, though, is randomly flat. Just a little thing there. Also, your style of art includes extremely thickened line art that's not like the show's. That's not bad, I just felt the need to state that I noticed it, because... no reason. :/

The head may look small because of the longer neck. I gave her a smaller head to indicate more maturity than Celestia and Luna. Bigger heads and eyes make things look more youthful. Personally, I tried to have it bigger, and it just looked wrong.

Thank you though!

The flat tail was gotten from the person's original art and design, which I tried to emulate as much as possible. Also, thicker lines are easier to work with, make smoother (since I don't vector, all hand-done), and I do think it looks rather showlike myself. Close enough. The lines used to be thinner on my style, and it didn't look quite right, as well as making it more difficult to control. I'm still trying to get the correct line thickness down that makes it quicker for me to belt out the art. The lines are the most time-consuming part. Will probably go back to a five or sixish setting on my brush, which is what I've been using in the past.

But yes, sorry if I seem all defensive you guys. @_@ I'm just saying stuffz.

What do you use to draw ponies? Both program and hardware wise, plz.

And nah, you aren't being too defensive, really. It's your artwork and you should feel proud. xD Also, the only thing I can think of when I see your username is "Arylett's Big Tush." ; w;

...I'm just going to pretend I didn't see the part about my butt.

MOVING ON

I sketch it out on simple paper, then I go over the lines extremely obsessively with Photoshop (CS3, because I'm outdated like that) and a cheap bamboo wacom tablet.
