Not sure if this is entirely permitted, if not then mods go ahead and banish this thread to that place where forgotten forum posts go to die. (This thread is under Movies/TV as that is the most relevant section :/)

So, I have a youtube channel. It has only 1 PMV (the first and I hope not the last), so it´s also my fav, because I don´t have any other videos :lol: It´s probably I got a little feedback so I lost the will to make another one. I use Sony Vegas Pro 9.0, and my hardware sux so I can´t use AAE. I´ve been making videos (not the pony but machinima and stuff) for year and a half. I got into it because of the gaming - as a WoW player, I wanted to make amazing machinimas. And tips... well, If you want to know something, ask me.

I do pretty much anything that has to do with plot. Analysing mlp stories and exposing plotholes. Writing mlp fanfic and maybe doing a few fanfics.

The account I use isn't that active in terms of content since I'm still developing content. Or in the case of the above series. I cant be asked. Edited by ceresbane

Above is my most recent video, i got into making videos when YouTube first came about, but at that time it wasn't possible to make money off it so i couldn't justify spending large amounts of money on software and hardware for no return, fast forward to just over a year ago, i felt like my PC specs were sufficient enough so i set to making gameplay videos. I record using Fraps and edit with Sony Movie Studio Platinum 12.0 (It was Sony HD movie thingy but i cant re-download it for some reason when i changed PC, so i've had to buy this one). I'm not sure what my favorite video is, most likely the one above or my previous DOTA ones, the others (while they have monetization and get more hits) were not as fun to do.

 

I'm going to steal a tip from Freddie Wong, Make YouTube videos that YOU enjoy doing, even if others are not keen on them, have fun with what you are doing.

Well, that's not the most recent, to be honest. But I don't want to have people who come to this thread start in episode 2 of my LP instead of episode 1.

 

What is your favorite video you have done?: Honestly, a tie between my two LP's: Europa Universalis 3, and Pokemon Crystal Enhanced(a ROM hack)

What software/hardware do you use?: I use Fraps to record my games now, Audacity for the commentary, and Windows Movie Maker(SO POOR :() for the editing.

How long have you been making videos?: Since March, when I posted the first episode of my Crystal Enhanced LP. The 2 videos before that were simply videos with a static background + music and lyrics in the description. I don't remember why I uploaded them, since it happened back in 2009, but I'm not complaining; it's only because one of them got 20,000+ views(!!!) that I was able to become monetized with Youtube and thus actually make money

Why did you get into it?: I was bored, and I wanted to show people some of the games I play. Plus, I'm poor, and I was hoping that my videos would make at least a little bit of money. Unfortunately the last part hasn't happened yet, but I'm trying to get there! I just need some semi-famous person also on Youtube to give me a shout out so that I can really get some views/constant viewers soon.

This is a song that I wrote. It is my favorite video because it means a lot to me and I know that other people will be impacted by it, which was the whole point of me making it and posting it on YouTube. If you would like, you can comment on my forum page about the video. (btw, I am aware about the poor sound quality. And my voice. I'm not the best singer, nor am I the worst. Camera wise, I have used a GoPro HD, a Sony HDR-CX550v, and a Sony HDR-CX100.

 

For editing I use Sony Vegas Pro 10.

 

How long have you been making videos?

 

I have been making coaster related videos since 2007, but I didn't starting posting videos until 2009.

 

Why did you get into it?

 

I have always been into video production and theme parks. So one day I thought "Why not combine the two?"

 

Any tips for other people?

 

Don't expect to be a "overnight sensation" or anything like that. Just gradually build a loyal subscriber base over time, and eventually you will grow, and grow, and grow!

How come you Americans get the best theme parks? the ones in England are terrible! :L

I don't really have a favorite video since I don't really think mine are up to par yet.

I use mainly Sony Vegas 12 and Fraps. 

 

How long I've been in the biz? I'd say 3 years but I closed my other account and made this one a year ago
 

Why'd I get into it? Boredom, I have too much time on my hands and I usually talk to myself when playing videos games so I thought why not share what I say?

 

Tips: You're not going to get popular fast even if you are really good at. Stay positive and just keep uploading until people start noticing you. That's really all I have to say

I'm still working on what I want to do, but so far I've been doing basic reviews of the MLP comics, a tokusatsu (Japanese Live action show) and a retrospective of the Ace Attorney series.

 

Frankly, I'm actually going to try my hand at Character analysis - Just seeing what makes certain characters tick and such.

 

Why did I get started? Just wanted to have some fun.

 

What program do I use? Magix Movie Edit Pro 2013, a decent program that only goes for less than fifty dollars.
