So one of the best things for animes are the fights. It is one of the best moments that take place in an anime. So what is your favorite fight that took place in an anime and why?

It can be anything. It can be from the last episode, in the middle of the season, when ever.

 

One of my favorites would be the last fight between Kazuki and Papillon. It maybe a short fight, but it's great. The two are pushing themselves to win. Even using their powers in new ways they have never used tell now.

The other one would be the last battle in Gurren Lagann. This one great because, well that background music is so great. I mean this is the kinda music to fight to. Also everyone just pushing themselves to win this fight and what they say during the fight is also what makes this fight so great.

Goku wins fights by standing around and yelling for 10 minutes. Naruto wins fights by throwing his hands around a bunch of times. Jotaro wins fights by pure swagger.

It's not much of a fight, but one of my favorites is the one between Sailor Moon and Pharaoh 90. Lots of emotion for one part which is barely a fight, but I still love it.

I have 2 from 2 different show's that i really like;

 

From Bleach (and this was hard to choose there all awesome) i picked Ulquiorra vs Ichigo. I can't find it on youtube which suck's but it is probably over an hour long, so bear that in mind from the 3 min's summery of this amv:

This amv is great is showing it because it give's a good idea without giving away the full fight. This fight also talk's about peace and justice and hate and how to solve them which is also very interesting, as the two fightee's have very different ideas about what they should do.

Goku vs Frieza from DBZ will always hold a special place in my heart :')

 

 

It's just so epic on every level. Frieza is made out to be the most terrifying fighter in the universe, we see him kick the snot out of everyone he comes up against, but then; our hero, Goku faces his down despite the odds.

 

Though Goku has improved his fighting skills, it looks bad for him throughout the entire fight, until Goku transforms into a Super Saiyan for the first time; enraged at Krillin's death.

 

Goku, with his newfound power seems a match for Frieza, and to add tension to the fight; the planet is about to explode.

 

Just everything about this fight is great. Emotions run high, hope seems utterly lost, and it is tense the entire way through. Not to mention this is the first time we ever see a Super Saiyan on screen.

 

This was before being a Super Saiyan became a gimmic, so at the time it felt new and mysterious.

 

 

I salute you Goku, you brave Saiyan you.

Has anyone seen R.O.D. The TV? It isn't quite a battle, but I absolutely love how the Paper Sisters twice work together in perfect sync to defeat two different hostage takers. Here's the first scene. I couldn't find the later one where they save a whole airplane (except the wings) and rescue the passengers.

Record of Lodoss war has always been my favorite, and I would put the confrontation between Parn/Ashram/wagnard as on of my top cinematic moments, let alone anime battles. The fighting only totals a couple of minutes, and I couldn't find a compilation because it cuts to other scenes during the battle, but the emotional tension between the characters, and the beautiful art and score make it work even with the mediocre dub.

 

Major spoiler, btdubs:

Ahram's death has always been an emotional moment for me, and a representation of a tragic hero, his loyalty to Beld's ideals doesn't allow him to see the ambiguity of the situation, and it leads to his own demise. "Destiny, of darkness..." Couple that with the mythological idea that love reconciles the duality between the anima, and the animus, which is shown in parn's rescue of Deedlit, and you have one fucking awesome finale. Fuck yeah!

Samurai 7 is my favorite anime... I think. The fights were over the top and at times kind of ridiculous, a blend between samurai and mecha. Still, it's incredible and takes itself fairly seriously.

Oh my god, a discussion about best battle in anime and no mention of Fate/Zero? WHAAAAAAA?

 

Fate Zero is extremely balanced in fights, and no deus ex machinas helping or hurting fighters.

 

Tactics are actually really good.

Here a mage fights a mage assassin. It's set in modern day, and you need to see tactics like this, because it's amazing.

 

Here is an aerial dogfight between two fighters. It gets so insane for the animation quality here. One is a improvised F-15, the other is some ancient babylon flying death machine. Just watch Gilgamesh vs. Berserker.
