How would we do this?

 

A few friends and I are going to watch the premiere together, we could record it and send it to whoever is in charge, and they could decide if they wanted to use parts of it.

Here ya go! I'm freaking excited about it!! So much foreshadowing goes on. I have a few hypothesis about the season, but I won't say here unless you want me to.

 

But I think this is an awesome idea. i'm all for it!!

I..I don't know if I want to do this. First off, I consider myself too young to do this. Second, don't have a good quality camera. Last, I hate showing my face on the internet.

I might be in on this. I can send in an audition, though I don't mind being in some sort of queue. I may go watch the 8-minute preview now, and tape myself watching it. I haven't seen it as of me writing this.

 

EDIT: I found that my webcam is too crappy to do this. Oh well...

The only suitable camera I have is the webcam built into my laptop. Never used it before so I don't know how good it is. It should get the job done even if it doesn't look spectacular. Count me in.

 

I have got Skype, video, etc. But I would honestly kind of dull the bronies' reputations. I am your stereotypical "squeaker" blond, pasty freckled white kid with no tan

Our reputation isn't fantastic as it is. We have a collective reputation of being overweight, nerckbearded dimwits, though there are many bronies who aren't; those who hate us do so for hate's sake, not because of anything reasonable. If anything, you'd fit right in with the rest of the less than stellar-looking bronies such as myself. Bronies' most important legacy isn't one of creativity or attractiveness anyway, it's one of compassion and acceptance. Having unattractive people next to beautiful ones would only help to bolster our reputation for loving everybody and would showcase an environment in which anyone could find a place. Besides, I'm surely less pleasant to look at than you are, so they'll forget all about what you look like after I appear, assuming I can even make the cut into the final video.

 

Also, as Crispy said, the video is strictly for us as a forum community, not something for the entirety of the internet. Only other bronies would even care about it, regardless.

What kind of auditions? We want as many people to participate as possible and we want genuine reactions. Clips from each submission would have to be combined for the video, and undesirable things can be removed during editing.

I would consider doing this, but I have no idea how this is gonna work...would we all film ourselves or something? And is it our reaction to the whole episode, or just parts of it?

EDIT: We could just send in clips of our reactions to the episode and then just splice it together to make one video.

I just ran across this thread. This sounds like a great community project to bring people together, and I think we could all have a lot of fun with it. It doesn't need to be a video for the entire Internet, or even the rest of the brony fandom - I'd be perfectly content for MLP Forums to have its own little things like this.

 

I'll put it up for internal discussion with the staff. We can assist in organizing and making this happen.

 

By far the easiest way to do things would be to set your computer's webcam to record video shortly before watching the premiere for the first time, then sending the recording in (which we can provide facilities for, or YouTube can be used). It would then be edited and stitched together into a single 5- to 10-minute video.

People with webcams who can record footage of themselves watching Season three's first full episode for the first time, as well as any people willing to -potentially- be editors who would piece this entire video together once all footage is in, are needed.

I checked out more stuff on Youtube and I think this vid is also a good model for us.

 

 

Amazing! A lot of people who film themselves on YT are just irritating, but these kids are pretty cool and I was touched by the guy's genuine reactions to the show and how quickly he came around to liking it. (He sounds like David Tennant, LOL.) They also had a great idea: using headphones so that the audio from the show didn't interfere with their reactions.

 

So how would the videos ultimately be posted? By us or by the editors? And would they be files of individual bronies, which would be enough to flood YT, or more easily digestible montages featuring reaction clips from multiple bronies? So many possibilities.

 

I'm forseeing a possible issue with too many footage people and too few editors. I'm a good editor myself, but my only software (the ancient Windows Movie Maker) is so bad it can't make new videos. (I can save them as projects but the software refuses to turn them into new files.) So I'm stuck on that end.

 

But if I can find my webcam and figure out how to use it, I'll be happy to contribute footage. I'm a pretty expressive guy, and I speak out loud several times when watching.
