How open are you about ponies?

I would say I'm pretty open about it. I'm not afraid to wear any of my three pony shirts out and about. Well...I haven't worn two of them down at college yet, and the first one was sort of subtle; a periodic table showcasing the Elements of Harmony rather than just the elements, but with only very small white outlined pictures of the Mane 6's cutie marks in the corners of the boxes. You'd need a sharp eye or be a fan to realize what it was.

If I know a person well enough, and I don't know if they're a brony or not, I will "fish" for it, so to speak - wiggle in a reference here and there, see if they pick up on it. Though, sometimes I just come out and ask if they've heard of the show. Personally, I've gotten a "No" and a "Yeah, I don't watch it, but I don't care." I also "fish" sometimes regardless of whether I know anyone when I play online games, because it's fun to try and find other fans to talk about the show for the rest of the match or whatever it is.

Then comes my roommates. I got that over with quickly enough, since my computer is showcasing it literally every waking hour. None of them watch the show, but all of them are non-haters. It helped that one of them is a huge anime fan. Around them, I couldn't care less if other people know I'm a brony, because if my friends don't care, then nobody should care.

Of course, this sort of "enabled" me to go ahead and ponify everything around my friends, and they have gotten irked about it on occasion. I've since apologized and promised to keep it to a minimum, since I realized recently that that having something you don't take part in shoved down your throat is really abrasive to most people. They accepted, knowing full-well it happens to all of us; for example, one of them cited that I probably feel left out and annoyed when they start talking about League of Legends, since I don't play, and three of them do, which results in me being silent while they LoL it up.

I'm getting off topic. I suppose a tl;dr version of the above is, I'm kind of apprehensive about it unless I have a friend or a family member (yes, my immediate family knows) with me. If that's the case, I'm not afraid to show it.

Only a couple of my friends know that I'm a brony. And my whole family knows about me liking this show and they're cool about it and nor do they care. And a couple co-workers know as well.

Very! :D

I was actually surprised that my friend group had little to no reaction though. i s'pose they just already know me as crazy so nothing I do could surprise them XD

i actually 'converted' several though :3 One of  my friends, i showed him an episode and he became completely addicted, like me! :3 One of my friends, Skye Freewing here on da forumz, had already been into ponies since November '11 and had kept it a secret! xD Another of my friends is kind of into it, but casually. The rest of my friends, with the exception of one dude who laughs whenever I mention ponies, really don't care :P

Maybe one day I will find other people that are  into this show so I don't feel left out. But the two co-workers that do know don't care that I like the show. I keep it very private when I'm at work I don't tell them at all.

I accidentally told one of my friends at school, who then told one of his friends who somehow came to the conclusion that I watch pony porn. he then told everybody that and now im the person that watches pony porn. which I dont. I think it's disgusting.

Is it bad for me laughing. I have had a similar incident. I am not at the same school (be glad, everyone knows. They even made it humiliating by giving me stuff that had to do with the situation. It has nothing to do with ponies.) but it has now started at my new school. FUUUCCKK. I feel bad for you that people found out the wrong think. At least they didn't think you watched MLP G3

I am a bit open about it, to most post people I know. I am becoming more open about it as more people I know join the herd. I am super open to it to other Bronies, which I should. I haven't converted much, it just seems to happen. It is weird. But, I want to convert a few people. One has a stressful life and needs to be more happy. The other used to cut and burn herself. I want her to understand that she doesn't have to hide her emotions and to be happy like Pinkie Pie.

I am very open about it. I have five My little pony related t shirts thanks to my mom, dad, aunt and cousin, and I wear them all the time. I'll probably take my brony wallet out to shop as well. I don't want to convert people into being a brony, though I'll ask them to be open-minded about it. I don't get many insults wearing the shirts, as I have lots of friends.

A few friends and My mother know about it. Fortunately, EVERY boy in my school enjoys the powerpuff girls, so I use that to my advantage to get them to try the show out.

Since I’m drawing pretty much all the time, and I often draw ponies, some peoples ask me sometime « wtf I’m doing ».

I’m totally fine with the fact of being a brony, even if I often only claim that I like MLP. I don’t need to say “I like it, such as millions of peoples on the internet”, and since the notion of “bronies” is mostly unknown in France, I usually only answer “I’m drawing little ponies, Why? Because I like it.”

Of course I sometime have the occasion to give more details, in those cases I can explain nearly everything about the fandom (except why some peoples likes “cupcakes”, it’s still a mystery for me). And for now on, no one has been able to change my mind about ponies.

The sad thing is that, even if most of the peoples I talked with accepted it (some don’t, like my mother, but I’m ok with that), none of them had the curiosity to give a look at the show by themselves.

But here it is, I have no problem with the fact of being a brony, I don’t impose it to the peoples around me, but I won’t let them forbid me to enjoy it.

I'm only open with my friends, I haven't told any of my family, and i plan not to. My best friend didn't even know until she looked through my photoshop files, she then she didn't ever tell me she knew until she yelled 'Soups on everypony' and i said I do t know what's worse, the fact that you just said that or I know what it's from. The only other people that I know of that know I watch it are a guy, 'javery', and an annoying girl, 'Knishna'. Those are just nicknames though.

If my family finds out its either because of my best friend talking to me about it in front of them, they here me watching it on youtube, or my sister or dad sees me drawing ponies. Also, I consider myself as a closet brony, but everyday I slightly let bronyness slip out, the other day, my mom to stop whining, I unconsciously said I'm not whining, I'm complaining.

I am very open. Maybe even a little too open sometimes, I've fallen for a lot of trolls by being so open but I'm definitely proud, I actually just came here to post something about that. I'll attach it to this instead.

I have pony stickers (although they're previous generation, but I'll take what I can get) on all of my duotangs for school, and my MP3 player but that one isn't seen often. I also wear the one shirt I have sometimes and I plan on wearing the new one that should arrive soon. Only problem is my school is uniform.

post-2458-0-60486800-1357680936_thumb.jpg

A picture I took for exactly this, I have them in the exact same positions on all three.

This really just ended up being kind of bragging. Sorry about that, seeing these other posts I want to talk about the topic a bit more but I don't really like talking about myself. I'm open about most things now but earlier on I think I hid it at school a bit. In my current state of openness and pride I don't really understand why I ever hid it. I think the main reason people hate on us so much is for breaking stereotypes and because it's easier than trying to understand and I've always tried breaking stereotypes so I never really had any trouble with it.

OK, WELL IM SORTA ON THE FENCE.

I ALWAYS TALK ABOUT MLP TO MY FAMILY, AND THEY DONT MIND OR MAKE FUN OF ME.

BUT AT SCHOOL....WELL, I TOLD MY BFF THAT I LOVE MY LITTLE PONY AND AT FIRST SHE IS LIKE, O.o... Okaay.

BUT I TOLD HER SOME OF THE BEST EPISODES AND SHE KINDAA GOT INTO IT. BUT OF COURSE, SHE WILL NEVER EVERRR BE A BIGGER BRONY THAN ME. SHE KINDA JUST COMPLETLEY FORGOT ABOUT IT THE NEXT DAY.

IM NOT THE TYPE THAT WOULD SAY "I LOVE MLP" AT SCHOOL AND ALL THAT. BECAUSE MY BFF SAID TO MY CRUSH, "DID YOU KNOW, SHE LIKES MLP!" I WAS SOOOO EMBARRASSED! WHAT A FRIEND SHE IS. -.-

BUT

(btw, brohoof for the giant 'but'! xD)

On the other hand, I'm the type of brony to show up at a close friend's house with a mlp bag. I own a a bag with Derpy and Rainbow Dash and it says 'MUFFINS!'

So lets say im going to a sleepover. I'm not afraid to show up with that bag! :D

I have about 4 pony shirts and Rarity headphones. I will wear them in public but I don't bring it up around my friends very often unless they bring it up first. There aren't many bronies round where I live and most of them are shy about it if they are. I am open to talk to most about it. Some times people question my shirts and I'll just tell them I enjoy the show and that I'm a run-of-the-mill brony. My family doesn't really seem to care. I live with my mom and sisters, but I haven't told my dad because it doesn't really seem necessary. I have made a few references of the show on facebook and nopony seemed to mind so I don't mind being open about it on social networking. I don't really go up to others and ask them if they watch the show because I know some people are turned off by it and whatever not everyone can like it, but if i see a pony shirt or other merchandise on somepony else I'll make a remark about the fandom or quote the show or something and see if they catch it. So yeah...

Like music? Of course you do! Here ya go: http://www.youtube.com/user/concertoldham

Rarity is best pony because she is refined, poised, strong and genuine all wrapped up in a beautiful package.

I'm on a navy base, and when I can go around in civilian clothes, I wear my brony shirt and my wonder bolts hoodie. There are actually a good number of brownies roaming about here.

As for watching the show, however, I just lay in my rack with my iPad and watch the shows on it on YouTube.

I'm rather open about my addiction to the fandom, but that's mostly because the group of friends I hang out with are Bronies/Pegasisters as well. I don't really mind the opinions of others when it comes to My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, but when trolls start to attack, I get a bit upset and don't want to share my personal opinion with anyone outside of my group. That normally doesn't last too long because I'm always able to turn to my fellow Bronies/Pegasisters for confidence.

That's one of the best parts of my group of friends both on the Internet and in real life. By the end of the day, I'm still proud to be a Pegasister and it's because of the confidence they've given me. I don't think that anyone should be ashamed of liking something that others do not. Hasbro may have assumed that only little girls would watch the show, but that certainly does not mean that My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is reserved for a specific audience. Never be ashamed of who you are!

I dont wear my pony shirts in public but most of my friends know that im a brony and I am currently in the process of converting one.

Lol, it's the way you use "Convert". It's not like we're on a crusade or something. CUTIE MARK CRUSADERS EXTREME LOVE AND TOLERANCE!!!! Yeah...no. It's great that your friends share the same interests. I'm rather lucky to have friends that don't always like the show, but tolerate it.

My brother knows I like ponies but that's about it. I have hinted it to my friends a few times but they don't seem to realize. Mainly watching MLP is a private thing for me.

I would be more open about it, but I don't exactly go up to random people and say "I'm a brony." But I do tend to talk about it to my friends. I don't exactly have any pony shirts, though.
