Are you sure your not confusing gen 3 for gen 4? Gen 4 only introduced 4 fire Pokemon. 3 of which were the starters. And the other 1 was the evolved form of an already-existing pokemon.

 

Both gens were pretty lackluster fire wise. Trust me I like gen 4 even less.

Obviously Kyurem will play a much larger role, and If every other game ever is correct you will probably be able to get all three dragons, so perhaps N will be fightable after the elite 4.

Also arceus was hidden out of the public eye for the longest time, I'd imagine there's probably a pokemon or two we don't yet know about

No, Arceus was legitly hidden, no one discovered him til a year after release, those three were more like Darkrai, Shaymin, and Manaphy

My theory: When you catch Kyurem, Reshiram, and Zekrom a whole new pokemon appears which represents all of them combined.

I agree with your theory of there being a missing pokemon- considering there are 649 pokemon total... it's a rather odd number. I just feel like there should be 650 .

Kyurem is the empty shell of the dragon that was Reshiram and Zekrom combined. (I might be getting this wrong though it's been awhile since I've played BW.)

Its not hard, think of it like a spiral. I caught him the day after I got the game on release. With my FIRST quick ball. Was so damn lucky!
