About the OC-

 

Name: Alora

 

Age: Ageless

 

Species: Dream Creature

 

Affinity: Life/Death

 

Secret Talent: Musical Ability

 

Family: Her mother, reprosenting nature, is Moriko (http://nekromantiafo...766016#/d5gwx4z), the last living Viathyn to this date. Much like her daughter, she doesn't simply reprosent her Affinity, but rather IS her affinity. Alora's father is the serpant king (naga pony) who controles the nightmare realm. Hence, Alora hadn't technically been born, but was created within the Dream realm and forced into Reality. Her father's relations with Alora's mother had been regretably.....forced.

 

Magical Aura: Alora's magic derives from the energy she recieves from those of which die or are killed by her. Because there is always death, this is generally a never-ending cycle. While this gives her a much more powerfull approach, she is sworn not to use her abilities on a living being unless provoked or if the being otherwise must die. This doesn't mean her abilities don't go to waste though because the spirit energy harvested, harnessed, and abssorbed by her also makes it possible for flight and many other various skills otherwise unimaginable. When killed, Alora's energy is sent into the dream world, where she is spat back out into the reality realm.

 

Personality: Alora is a very antisocial creature, prefering not to make attatchments due to the knowledge that everypony (even Celestia herself) must die. She also harbors conflicted feeling about her line of "work" because, while she enjoys killing (very sadistic) and has a hidden fetish for pain and blood, she often feels guilty if she believes the person in question is too young (although her sadistic side dominated her general personality). People who are considered "evil" often interest her and she has been known to give these beings "breaks" from death occassionally. However, Alora can also do a very large amount of good. She can cure disease, heal wounds, and sometimes even bring the dead back from the "fade" (oblivion plane where energy goes to be recycled and transformed). Sadly, doing such a deed can make her very ill, as it drains her own energy and any illness or wound absorbed will appear upon her own person untill her immune system fights it off. Due to all of this, Alora has been known to have shifting mood swings ranging from raging anger to severe depression in a matter of seconds. When alone, Alora has also been known to talk to herself as though she were a seperate being all together. It is unknown weither or not she has multiple personalities.

 

Other: The necklace around her neck was placed there by an unknown being and cannot be removed untill she encounters the owner of it's key. This is an ongoing search for her and her single companion, Shi (a spirit fox crafted by Alora).

 

Fun facts:

 

* The vibrant colors that adorn her were inherited by her father as a warning to other animals that she is (1) a carnivore and (2) venomous.

 

* She once wished to be a professional music performer, but was unable to accomplish her goal due to a terrible accident that happened upon her first attempt at stage performance.

 

* Alora is also capable of drawing, though rarely does it because her time is consumed by her work and the harvesting of excess energy left by the dead.

 

* Alora only has markings on her left side.

What type of music were you thinking of writing? Instrumental? Trance? Dubstep? Ambient? I'm not even sure if I could write lyrics on-the-spot, but having some sort of idea as to where you're headed would help the creative process.

To be entirely honest, I think most any of those would work. You have to take into account the fact that I probabely won't have any background either, so pauses shouldn't be too long. I'm fairly good at most diney peices (particularly "I won't say I'm in love" and "Reflection). However, I've also been known to sing a few Evanesance songs, sometimes even Greenday. I can even do screamo if the mood srikes me. Basically, I'm offering you complete and total freedom. Although, try not to do too much "talk-singing" because my voice is too strong and it messes up the effect if it's too high-tempo. If it's something like Greenday's "talk-singing" I'm alright though, because it's more singing than talking. One Direction hates me though if that gives you an idea.

 

PS: I obviousely sound different than both disney examples I gave you, because I'm a different person. I won't say I'm in love is too nasal-based (can I say that?) and my voice tends to intensify Reflection.

I might do a duet violin/piano or tuba/piano combo'd with a beat of some kind, go for something a little Youngbloods.

My goodness, you sertainly captures her bipolar disorder. Although, I think her desire for a companion is more about the search for the owner of the key that unlocks her necklace (unlocks her heart....hehe), so maybe a little less about a comunity? I hate large groups. This would eb amusing, but my brain doesn't know how to sing it. Opera though, I can do opera. It's a softer opera......like phantom of the opera, but I can do opera XD

I've been living in a cave and I have no idea on how to use a recording software on a pc or where I can get the software but I think that you will like it a whole lot more once I sing it out.(or not since i have no training whatsoever and i never sing in my entire life)

 

I don't think that I can change the lyrics to be about a key with that song in mind, I think a christmas jingle or grimdark christmas style songs would fit that kind of lyrics more.I'm also getting the idea for a classic+rap for that theme but it might be overused these days.

No no, don't worry a bit. That would help a ton! It'd give me some much-welcomed insight on the tempo of your song and, if your too nervous to post it here, i'd be find with you messaging it to me.

Uhm, I've absalutely no clue. A lot of laptops have a built-in mic. I can get to a recording studio if need be (better results and all that shiz). Maybe it'd be better to ask someone else.

Yeah, I tend to do things like music a lot more methodically than necessary. At the same time, its' a lot more effective and comes out a lot better than just working stuff in and everything.

We have a similar midset. Not exact, but very similar. I tend to begin with a melody, some sort of beat is always necessary even before I begin lyrics.

I.....sort of like it, odly enough. Of course, I couldn't sing it XD If I find a male role, this would be quite interesting. In fact, it would make perfect sense with the fiction I'm writing because (four main character, one is male) there is a bit of a lasting feud between my boyfriend's OC and one of the other main characters because, while "OC" (no spoilers) has the key, the other has always been sort of.....obsessed with her (desperately in love, it's sort of funny actually).

I'm in the proccess of writing a duet song and I think that I can write down the music notes in numbers now that I'm sober and the kind of music I think of is less dramatic.It will probably take forever when writing songs without any kind of mind altering substance.
