Thoughts on "Bronydom death"

I know it's a sad thought but noting lasts forever. I'm not looking forward to the day that Hasbro announces the final season of MLP but i'd rather see it end while it's on top then have the episodes drawn out and turn to crap. But with the MLP community being as creativity strong as it is there would still be plenty of fan-made material to keep the die-hard fans interested.

All I can add is this: Get involved now while MLP:FiM's popularity is peaking. Don't wait until it's too late to soak it all in from the extensive toy displays in stores to any big or not so big conventions you're undecided about attending. Only those who don't participate will regret it.

Hey, as long as /mlp/ on 4chan stays alive, we stay alive. Might sound sickening but it turns out, even though the people on /mlp/ are all weird they dont rely on the show itself for entertainment. They rely on fanfics, scenarios and fanart. Even if the show discontinues /mlp/ will still be very alive and who knows, someone there might pick up were the show left off.

(Sorry for the long abstence from the forums, ive found 4chan quite amuzing other than all the random porn floating around there.)

There were 12.7 million bronies in 2010, in the united states alone. I mean, half of America. 50% of every man, woman and child. It only keeps growing. We only keep growing. Our comunity still has years, half of a country dosn't just dissapear.

I can't deny you the fact that it's very unlikely that the fandom will entirely disappear. Here's my thing though, I wouldn't mind seeing some of the most extreme parts of the fandom entirely disappear. Much like the, "The PPPPproject" it just makes the entire Bronydom seem crazy.

I stumbled upon this, and I just wanted to address it.

That ENTIRE thing was blown WAY out of proportion. It was a single group with a SINGLE member in it. It was a troll, and people fell for it in droves.

There is still a fandom for Arrested Development, Firefly and Serenity. I'm sure there are more cancelled Fox shows with fan bases but these 3 come to mind and these happened about 10 years ago with only a few seasons each. The good thing about art is that it never dies. Cowboy Bebop was only 26 episodes and a movie and people are still fans of it. People are still Elvis fans decades after his death. Tex Avery toons still have a fandom and there hasn't been a new one for quite some time. In short, no I don't think it will die as I see this show standing fairly well to the test of time.

I can neither confirm nor deny myself being the cause of electrical related malfunctions. Anyways, you wouldn't happen to have a jar of replacement magic smoke would you?

"Will we last forever?" - it's not a correct question.

What are we? We - it's our community. What is our community? It's not just a people united by one TV series. People won't live forever... and some day TV show ends too.

But how about our goals? How about our ideas, our hopes, our dreams, our thoughts, our art (music, video, pictures, fanfics)... these things are our community. And only these things will last forever. The trail we made in this life won't disappear...

Maybe in 50 years or more, someone will listening to one of our songs, and thinking about group of people, who decided to challenge the world and show what the true friendship is...
