123457 51 October 28, 2012 Share October 28, 2012 as a British musician, singer and songwriter, best known as the lead vocalist and lyricist of the rock band Queen. As a performer, he was known for his flamboyant stage persona and powerful vocals over a four-octave range.[4][5][6] As a songwriter, Mercury composed many hits for Queen, including "Bohemian Rhapsody", "Killer Queen", "Somebody to Love", "Don't Stop Me Now", "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" and "We Are the Champions". In addition to his work with Queen, he led a solo career, and also occasionally served as a producer and guest musician (piano or vocals) for other artists. He died of bronchopneumonia brought on by AIDS on 24 November 1991, only one day after publicly acknowledging he had the disease. so yes from wikipieda
yuffie4ever 11 October 28, 2012 Share October 28, 2012 Great, great man. Amazing singer and musician. Some of the biggest songs ever are because of him. Also, he was found by Wolverine and is therefor even cooler.

Midnight Seeker 302 October 28, 2012 Share October 28, 2012 A true killer Queen. We shall never see his like again. These days it's just soulless crap that shat out by people who may as well be dolls and their money grubbing puppet masters. 1 Avatar of OC by the lovely Skullgal56

letterone 1,204 October 28, 2012 Share October 28, 2012 Freddie Mercury was one of the best rock vocalists ever. In fact... well actually, it's kinda funny, 'cause I notice a very distinct similarity between him and most modern rock vocalists. Did he, like, pave the pathway of rock vocals? Did he start the awesomeness? Anyways he was darn awesome. It's ironic how I fall just to get back up again...

Creamy Arty 6,252 October 28, 2012 Share October 28, 2012 Some of my earliest memories are of riding in the car with my Dad while listening to the music of that era. Queen was my favorite band even back then. I can vaguely remember when Freddie died and it being a big deal, but not fully understanding all of the implications. The arts define a generation, and I can't help but wonder how different things might be today if Freddie and many other beloved and talented musicians hadn't died before their time. Whenever I hear his voice I'm taken back to my childhood, to the late 80s/early 90s. For as much as I love the music of that period, Queen is the only band that induces that much nostalgia in me. 1 Kyoshi made this ^^ Come join us on Equestria.tv on Fridays at 6 PM Eastern for our weekly movie nights! Spatsi 151 October 28, 2012 Share October 28, 2012 Queen is undoubtedly one of the best rock bands in a history. I really wish Freddie was still alive. I especially like "A night at the opera" - masterpiece, the best Queen's album IMHO. 1 "When all the truth does is make your heart ache sometimes a lie is easier to take"
