If this doesn't seem familiar, you might not have watched the show. I encourage you to give it a chance.

 

I never actually watched Code Lyoko as a kid, but I saw it mentioned awhile ago and finally decided to look it up. I watched the prequels, which were good, then the first episode, and continued from there, until I watched all 97 episodes. And it was pretty good.

 

In the show, the main characters fight an evil artificial intelligence called XANA through a virtual world called Lyoko within a supercomputer in an abandoned factory near the boarding school that they go to. Was that a run-on-sentence?

 

Anyway, the show used to be on Cartoon Network, on Toonami I think, but it originated in France. The animation isn't that good, but it interestingly combines 2D and 3D animation. And the English dubbing for Season 1 is pretty bad, but it gets better as the seasons go on. So does the animation (well, at least the CGI, the 2D still isn't that good.)

 

I watch episodes of it occasionally since it's On Demand, under Kabillion, which apparently owns the rights to it in the US now.

 

Also get this. They're rebooting the show, entitling it Code Lyoko: Evolution as the 5th Season, and it's going to air--in France--sometime this fall. Dunno when it'll come to the US. But here's a trailer for Evolution, anyways. They unfortunately replaced the 2D animation with live-action sequences, and so far have refused to show the actor's faces, but it looks awesome nonetheless.

TL;DR Code Lyoko is an old show from Cartoon Network that came from France that I like and thought I'd post. Just watch the trailers. The second one is for a reboot coming this year (in French).

Static Shock was so good that I had to rewatch it three or four times after it was ended. I even have a whole bunch of comic books. I wish they would reboot that instead. But Code Lyoko was also a big part of my childhood. So I guess I am a bit happy. Although the live action scenes sceme kind of lame. You would think that the digital world would look worse then the world that they originate from, not better. Like how video games look worse than real life. I don't know, I am rambling. In short, it sounds awesome. But Static Shock reigns supreme.

Yay, people remember this show! ;D I agree, it is awesome. I'm still a little skeptical about the live action of Evolution, but I'm remaining open-minded until I actually see the live action in action.

I never watched that, it was good? I'm not the biggest fan of superheroes, might as well give it a try sometime.

Oh hey, Code Lyoko. I enjoyed that show when it was on, even if I often mocked some of its more silly aspects. It had quite a lot of those.

I LOVED THIS SHOW. One of the most epic shows of the time. I loved it because of the technology employed. You see, I have always been fascinated by virtual reality and this show really summed it all for me. I mean look at it, it used two forms of animation.

YES, YES! The show was awesome, in a nutshell. Implied they finished absolutely everything at the end of Season 4, but who knows, there's always a plot coupon.
