It's Halloween! And I don't Care.

This will not be my like my usual posts where I ask all of your opinions on an issue. This is about Halloween. Personally for me, I don't do anything on Halloween. I don't like scary things, and I don't like running around in the cold in a very thin costume. I just don't care for it really, and I don't understand why people 18 years of age are still going door to door asking for candy. My peers always argue, "who doesn't like free candy." I don't disagree with that part, I just don't understand why I still see 18 and 19 year olds dressed up asking for candy and chocolate. Let me know what you do on Halloween. Are you like me and you just don't care, and do think older kids should be going trick or treating? I guess this is kind of like an opinions thread, it's just not really on an issue. As always keep it respectful.

"18 years of age are still going door to door asking for candy."

I hardly think the majority or 18 year olds do that kinds of stuff. I'd say it's a very very small percentage. Those who acculy does it most likely have some sort of disorder or do it with friends just because the hell of it, and not because of the free candy.

Me myself LOVE Halloween. I'm the type of guy who loves mysterious and strange things, spooky things included. While i do not go around the town scaring other people myself, i love seeing other people get scared. Or just the town events of Halloween.

[Halloween parties!]

i find Halloween to be a very nice event for the kids and also us adults since we all can look back when we used to go around in some silly suit asking for candy!

Cheers for great memories!

I'm perfectly fine with adults and teens going to Halloween parties, I just don't see why high school kids still go trick or treating. Trust me on the 18 years olds thing, I'm a senior in High School and almost everybody I talked to today said that they were going trick or treating. Edited by rcollinz13

There have been people who have come to my house trick or treating and have been older than 18 years of age. That's what the basement is for. Those dead bodies pile up ya know?

Really I don't care about halloween at all, other than the fact that my parents are gone so I can do whatever I want!

And I choose to spend it here... with the best people on the internet...

Most people in their mid-teens or older don't do it anymore, or so I've gathered. Still, it's fun to do and I wouldn't think any less of somebody or think they're weird for doing it. It's more for the experience than for the free candy, which Pinkie would gladly remind you is something you're never too old for.

Some dudes I know up in DC were getting together to do it this year but because of weather and stuff I wasn't able to make it. I would have gladly gone otherwise just for the experience of it. Even if we weren't asking for candy it would be fun simply to walk around in our costumes and interacting with those who are.

Seeing kids going door-to-door is still a strange sight for me. Until last week I spent my whole life living in the middle of nowhere, way out in the country. Out there, kids need their parents to drive them from house to house because of how spread out people are, and it's not unusual for most houses not to see any kids. Having them ringing my doorbell every minute (literally) is a very novel experience. If they keep coming by at this rate it won't be long before I run out of candy.

When I was a little girl, my mother didn't want me to "trick and treat", but I really wanted to do it because my friends told me it was funny and great. Now, I like to wear costumes and to make up - I never do this in the "normal life", only for cosplay or other costumes, on but I just wear them in the streets and with my friends. I would like to trick and treat at least one time in my life but I am 16, I think it is too old!

Go for it. There aren't many things worse than looking back on a period of your life and regretting not having done something you really wanted to do when it was within your abilities to do so. It's especially true of one's teenage years. The most important thing you're doing at this stage of your life is building memories that you'll always carry with you. Make them good.

Late 20thager here and for me Halloween and the DIA DE MUERTOS time of the year is just fun for me. Here on my hood, more than 50 families including mine get the thing going and give treat to the kids. I have retired of my old candy rider role and now host the little ones (and not so little ones) by home in an effort to make their night more awesome.

Halloween is cool in my case because people use it to enjoy the time and in a way become kids again for a little time, they can be silly again. So in a way is a most authentic day even if everyone get a costume.

Also love to set my dia de muertos offering and bake some Pan de Muertos ;)

It is just one of those things ether you like or not. Some people enjoy dressing up and going to parties/trick or treating, While some others rather stay out of it. I really don't care for it, it is just not my thing.

I haven't been trick or treating in years, but I still like to go to Halloween themed events with friends like haunted houses or a good halloween party. I'm actually spending tonight doing homework though, but I wouldn't mind being out with my friends if I had the chance to. For right now though, I just want it to be thanksgiving already :)

Eh I don't really care about halloween anymore, I just hand out candy because my mom buys it, I feel like being 15 i'm to old for it, but I never really cared for it that much really. I can honestly buy candy for not that much rather then go around getting all kinds of candy that I may not even like spending a whole night.

In the magical land of ________ New Jersey, we cancel Halloween due to downed trees and live electrical wires spewing sparks all over the streets.

Sandy's a bitch.

Edit:I I'm 14 and I half-ass a costume (this year I was planning on wearing a tuxedo print t-shirt and sunglasses and telling people I'm a MiB agent) and ask people for candy... I still think it's fairly fun, especially when derping around with friends.

I personally won't go trick-or-treating if my costume isn't memorable. If it's something professionally funny or popular, I go. If nothing, I stay home.

I will spend a hundred bucks on a costume to make memories. It happens once year and is the only day of the year such a thing goes on. Tomorrow your not gonna go to a person's house saying trick or treat, have a handful of Easter eggs or giving presents with a Santa hat.

It's something's to do for Memories, Celebration, and beyond.

You know 18 year olds that go door to door? o.o

Everyone I know stopped trick-or-treating once they discovered the magical world of alcohol ~

I have citizenship in that world too. Most of my time is spent in Cidertown and Meadville.

Most people I know stopped watching cartoons shortly after they became teenagers. That's something else I'll never give up.

I stopped going trick-or-treating since I was like 12 or something but I don't think anybody who's 18 years or older that goes trick or treating is immature or has some sort of "disorder". Who the hell cares if you want candy? Just go door to door and get yourself some. Don't let peer pressure get the best of you.

Dude... You don't like Halloween?

Don't you know that it means that Candy gets cheep to buy in bulk? :P

Seriously that is the only reason I like Halloween, the rest just annoys me :/

Yeah I like being able to buy candy in the bulk, but I don't like Halloween for the things that it's really about. Such as, scary monsters, haunted houses, ect.

I live in Australia so it's not very common for people to celebrate it and go trick or treating here. Moslty people just whinge on facebook about how it's an american celebration and does need to be celebrated here in Oz.
