That awkward moment when a friend threatens to ruin a book if they don't know what it is you're watching on your computer...

Yeah, I need to be more careful.

Rarity is the best thing in my life.

Where would I be without her? Nowhere I'd like to be, that's for sure.

  • 1 year later...

A friend tags you in a brony picture on facebook...where all of your relatives are...and might be able to see...I should probably check something. Be right back.

Here is my ponysona Lee! An interesting character, by all accounts.

The split minded adventurer David Pocket is here with Poe to keep him company. (Both in need of very heavy editing :/ )

I have said everypony in public a few times, said canterlot instead of camelot several times, stalliongrad twice, brohoof in placeof brofist far too many times, and parasprite instead of parasite in a biology exam.

One time when my sister was over, she had some cyan-coloured fingernail polish on, and without even thinking I said "Ah, Rainbow Dash colour!" and she asked me "What's 'Rainbow Dash'?"; I mentally cursed myself, and I explained that she's a character from MLP (I kind of expected some kind of acceptance from her since she was huge into MLP when she was a kid and a teen. I know it was different back then, but still.), and she said "What, are you a brony?" and my mum walks up and she's all "What's a brony?" and my sister goes and tells her that "A brony is a guy that masturbates to ponies." I was just sitting there in silence, completely infuriated.

Ha, one upped me there. Some people were talking about the film Twilight (you know the really bad vampire film). With out stoping to thing I walked up to them and said "oh you like Twilight too, she's my Favorite pony." Their faces went blank and they all looked at me.I didn't even know them just thought they might have been bronies too, I walked off as fast as I could. That's just another of my... "moments"

thats one of the most common Brony embarrassing moments :)

I let my friend play on my phone during lunch, what does he do? He goes straight to my photos and shows everypony the image of a pony I have! Also on a later date he showed everypony my browsing history! I have loads more of these stories, pm me if you want to hear em

Per equestria daily's ponies around the world a little bit ago, I was spurred to take a twilight plush with me when I travel places and just take pictures.  Well I am among friends I havent seen since 2013 while on vacation this year.  They dont know I am a brony and I take out the plush when a geyser starts erupting.  I dont notice whats going on around me as I take pictures.  Boy was it interesting to see the looks.

on a separate ocassion I also just wore a very pony pony shirt and was serious the entire time.  was also fun

Shopping for my sister on x-mas,  which was a Derpy something and I got into line and the Cashier was "Oh getting this for your little sister?"  "Nah my older sister!"  Which she kinda looked at me in holding the pony toy and I only smiled.

Ah man, I love these threads... :3

I've got a Vinyl Scratch shirt, and it has happened A LOT, that someone walks up to me, and asks what kind of creature it is on my shirt. I usually tell them that it's Vinyl, and that she's awesome.

One time, when this happened, the person in question said: "Hah, that's cool. I thought for a second that it was a My Little Pony."

I told him it was one.

It was awkward.

It's kinda rare that I get moments like these since I really don't care what people think.

BUT!

Whenever I walk around town in a pony shirt, more than half of the people that say hi to me say that they like my shirt. I always blush :3

I don't really have a lot of awkward Brony moments, but I did have one recently. My girlfriend just started watching the show out of curiousity because I'm really into it, and she's been binge watching (she started about 6 days ago and is now 17 episodes in). When her mom and dad came back from their vacation, I was over at her place for a house party so she asked me if I wanted to say hi to them. One of the first things she said to them is that I got her hooked on a show called My Little Pony. Smooth.

The most awkward brony moment I had was I was home alone watching mlp and my step dad came in. I was franticly trying to turn of the tv, but my remote batteries died.

  • 4 weeks later...

I've never really had a proper awkward moment... But the closest I ever came was when someone offered me their hand for a brofist jokingly (they actually hate me) and I just said "NO, no brohoof for you." Luckily, no one really seemed to notice - and if they did, they ignored it. They know I'm quite strange and often make up my own words... And they most likely didn't recognise the phrase.

I've never actually had an overly embarrassing brony moment, but man, I get tonnes of opportunities to really mess up.

I work at a superstore, and oftern find myself tempted to talk about mlp to adults buying mlp toys...only to realize that they were buying it for their six-year-old daughter, and reconsidering my position.

There was a time when I thought that people would hunt me down if I showed any signs of bronydom.

One year later I'm just browsing MLPForums in the middle of the class, no one notices. It's amazing.

The closest I've gotten to a moment was a week ago, when I was drawing this really neat copy of a picture of Twilight, and I had the original in front of me, (Really big, really purple, really "feminine",) and I was just drawing that in the middle of class.

One said: "Isn't that really girly?"

I replied: "Eeyup"

End of conversation.

It could've been awkward, but I seem to have lost all my awkward on the way home from Germany when I was there on a school trip.

I just don't have any good stories to tell anymore...

Getting 'outed' for the first time.

Going away for a weekend generally doesn't cause much interest in the people you know. 'Going to Nottingham to see some friends' rarely elicits much of a response.

Informing them that you are going to the US for 5 days does however, and of course the questions start piling on. So you either completely lie or bend the truth. Can't exactly say you're going to a different state/city than you intend to incase they have been to your ficticious destination and have questions upon your return.

So naturally you say that you are seeing some friends in Baltimore. Which is technically true.

Of course you don't just fly 3000 miles for a 5 day holiday to see a few friends, two weeks maybe, but not 5 days. And given the recent events in that city, certainly not Baltimore.

So someone does some digging.

I get back from BronyCon '15 and arrive at the pub for the next petanque match andohdearlord does the ribbing begin.

Thankfully it only lasts about 10-15 minutes, we play the game and nothing else is said for the rest of the evening. And every other match since for that matter. Which is overall, rather refreshing.

Okay, this happened a few days ago. I was at Target a few days ago, and I was in the pony section, getting a Rainbow Power Pinkie Pie toy just because it was 5 dollars, and I had that much money. When I turn my head over to the right, I see 4 girls from my school, most of whom I had classes with. Instead of going "Hi there," I quickly hid. It didn't help that my mom was there with me, and I didn't want the girls to think I was some man child. I don't think they saw me, but I was pretty embarrassed  .

Oh god, I'm so sorry.....Its one of those things that are like "I think they saw it....But inside I know they did."

When I had my tablet in class (were aloud to play on them) when I got the MLP app notification. Now this would have been fine if it was only on, like, half volume, but it was on FULL VOLUME. So we're all sitting in class, silent, when suddenly the orchestral tune of the my little pony theme song comes out of my tablet. I got plenty of.....stares. Its just good that it didn't have lyrics.....

This other time I was at a concert (I was in chorus) and I got my phone out in the class before the show. My lockscreen was the mane 6 all derped out. My friend was looking over my shoulder and asked "was that my little pony?" My response was "uh......NO! Hahaha, it was....um....Adventure time!" And then bringing something else up...

Another time I was drawing MLP stuff in the kitchen (pinkie Pie, even) when my dad walked in. I immediately covered my drawing with my ENTIRE MIDSECTION, while casually saying "how was your day?".

Another time I was in the kitchen drawing, while my mom, dad, and brother were in the living room watching TV. The bobs burgers brony episode was on, and it was too cringy to listen to. Then my brother was explaining that those are real people, and I got annoyed and had to goto my room (It was THAT uncomfortable).

AHHH that would be soo awesome  . i would definitely do that, if my presentation outlines would allow it. Haha, converting my class into bronies, i can see that XD

funny story about that... I once made this awesome powerpoint during my freshman year of highschool with ponies and dubstep... and ponydubstep! It was literally about ADHD. So fitting. XD. It was truly legendary, actually I still have it on me somewhere :P. But after I finished, the class just stood in awkward silence. It was just.. too funny.

UPDATE:

I found it, but I don't wanna send it over because it might break the rules and stuff :P.

I was skyping with my friends once, when the call started no one was talking. After i while i remembered i change my profile pic to my profile pic on this website. It was awkward silence. Then i said "yes, i am a brony and i like my little pony." They all admit it was kind of weird but after a while they grew to be cool with it. Other than that, not that much.

  • 3 months later...

Tell my brother I'm a brony, the first question he asks me is as follows, "So, you like horse vagina then?" I just FACEPALM as hard as possible and then just awkwardly say "n, nooooo" And then curse the heavens that rule 34 is a thing.... >.>

That actually happened about two and a half weeks ago when I went to visit my big bro over in Iowa....

Sitting in the campus library, forget to plug headphones into my laptop attempting to catch up on S5 episodes a while back, theme song kicks in before i can urn the volume down in time so 30+ students turn to look where it came from.
