Hope you don't mind me writing Spike, since he's not the pony I'm gonna be asking. Also, I guess this is unicorn Twilight, since she's new to ponyville now.

 

Also, major cookie points to anyone who gets who's name I ponified for the author of that book. He's a real scientist, yeah, who's name I ponified. XD Know who?

 

 

Your post reminded me of some more issues I have with writing posts:

 

 

3. I don't wanna step over my boundaries. By that I mean I don't wanna be writing, in my case, Fluttershy's actions for even the tiniest of things.

 

4. I REALLY don't wanna type thoughts. The way I see it, since, in my case anyways, Fluttershy isn't a unicorn, therefore can never be a mind reader, I see no point to add pointless filler that will change nothing in the story.

Anyways, #3 is understandable, but I dunno, it seems Nightwing is a bit upset at short replies, so I went ahead and wrote Spike since the only thing I've seen issues with (in terms of players overstepping their bounds) in the 40+ pages of it I've read was when ponies tried to roleplay the pony they're dating.

 

As for #4, it adds character development. Developing the characters and advancing the plot are the two central goals in writing a story. More specifically, it puts the reader in the protagonist's shoes, so to speak, so works towards immersion, and immersion is also pretty vital. The more of it, the better; I can't think of any exception to that.

No offense, y'all, but realistically speaking, the first thing any Equestrian is going to do when they see your OC's, is scream, run, and probably call the royal guard/the princesses.

 

I mean, honestly, I'm trying to help you, here... Why did you make your OC's so scary looking? Freaky green changeling eyes in a menacing glare surrounded by black? Blood-red eyes, tall, and a coat darker than Nightmare Moon's? If you make your OC really edgy and scary looking, then ponies are probably going to be scared...

 

I mean, look at how the ponies reacted to a Zebra. Zecora's even kind of cute looking, but they were terrified because of how she looked; the entire town shut themselves in at her very approach. And then Luna; Luna is pretty cute looking, too, actually, but because she's so dark and a somewhat imposing alicorn, they were all so terrified of her in "Luna Eclipsed." Neither of these characters had unusual eyes, or an all-round edgy aesthetic, yet they were terrified of them.

 

 

Let me share with you an experience I had: I was writing a fanfiction, and I got a friend of mine to be an editor. He warned me, telling me he'd paint my draft red with corrections. Well, he was right: He didn't leave a single paragraph untouched. He butchered my draft. How did I respond? With all caps and exclamation points, because I was excited! The things he said made sense, and every scratch through my draft was an improvement that made the story better, and better to read. Everyone can improve, and the only way you can improve is if you seriously consider someone's advice, so I hope you won't be too offended.

They're not popular for the same reason, and the more confidence I had, the better I've got used to not caring what other people think. I just made this picture and liked the look of it :3 My OC's look less frightening. My scariest one is probably Shadowknight, but chances are you'd be more wary of him then actually afraid.

The rest are all, relatively, average ponies

 

I got Druids, Knights, Blacksmiths, Musicians, etc. Shadowknight is my oddball XD

While she can never read your mind, I am the DM. The DM knoows all, sees all, and screws with your world. If I know your thoughts, I can better screw with it. Throw you a bone, present you with a challenge, or understand why you decided to do something.

PS, lemme throw you a bone, Twilight says at one point her telescope is a "nine and three quarter inch catadioptric telescope," that is... ridiculously powerful. Well, not ridiculously, but she's obviously come from a relatively well-off family, and invested a whole lot in it. You should be able to make out planets with that thing quite nicely...

///And for the sake of keeping it relatively simple, I'm just throwing Equestria's science into the modern era. That way I don't have to wonder what I'd be interested in if I were alive in an earlier time period, and try to pin where Equestria's science is. Ultimately, the details of the science aren't really relevant to the whole dating thing, anyways >.<

I... I just can't do this anymore...

 

I just don't know it is a personal issue between losing interest, lack of detail, not being able to keep using my personal OC as an equestrian without it not being me, or some combo of the three, but I just can't date Fluttershy like this anymore...

 

HOWEVER!

 

I still wanna participate in this thread. Even when I had my falling out with this site, I could never stop thinking about when this thread would update, so to me, it would be a shame to just completely drop out!

 

Will I continue to date Fluttershy if she is still available? Possibly, but no more as 'DJ'. Will I date some other pony? Again, possibly, but I will never again use my OC that is just simply a pony version of me. Makes things too complicated. However, their is just only one other pony I would date, so... If not those two, then what will you do? If given the chance and if I really want to do so, need to think it over, I would LOVE to be apart of the staff for this thread, by writing for Fluttershy. I honestly can't see myself being able to write for anypony else, so...

 

But I digress. To sum it up and to add some detail: I don't wanna date Fluttershy anymore as 'DJ', I might come back at a later time to date her or somepony else as a new OC or join the writing staff if I'm wanted, but no matter what I do, I need some time to think and maybe create a new OC.

 

Also, may I say, I feel saddened to leave, even for a while. Like I said, even when I had a falling out with this site and thought I would never come back to it, I just couldn't stay away thanks to this thread. So when I do return, expect it to be sooner than you think.

Okay, I decided what I'm going to do!

 

 

For now, I'm going to date Applebloom! However, due to the OC I choose for this, I would like for her to not be aged up. I have a plan that involves my OC being of age to date her in her show age. Even if you wanna call it a play date or whatever, as long as she isn't aged up, I'm all good.

 

 

Also, If you don't mind, part of my plan involves the first couple of posts to be backstory, including, but not limited to, when he first moves to Ponyvile, the first day of school with Miss Cheerilee, and some scenes inside his home. The way I see it, the only way I can do this is if I treat this like a movie or something, giving the audience something to get them interested in what is happening to the characters. And I hope you can do the same. (I.E. when I do a post away from AB, you do the same with a post from Applebloom's POV.)
