  1. 1. Should Trixie be forgiven?

    • NO! Amulet or not, she belongs in jail.

Trixie was a little quick to beg forgiveness. I'm doubting her sincerity. I'm thinking she's gonna look for another shortcut to power and we will see the whole episode repeated in season four. And cursed amulet or not, she did commit serious crimes.

No. Overlooking the lawz gives a sense of lack of legitimate authority. No matter how brutal, laws must be enforced, consequences must take place, and people must get what they deserve. Trixie is no exception. She tried to enslave all of Ponyville. Frickin'. Slavery. That's not getting by if I have a thing to say about it.

She's evil, and a bigger bitch than Winona. I've hated her from the beginning, and I only loathe her even more so, now. She deserves no forgiveness.

Poll seems a little bit biased against Trixie. :x

But I do agree, Trixie acquired the amulet on her own, and ignored the merchant's warnings. She also tried to attack Rainbow Dash when she put on Twilight's fake amulet, after the Alicorn amulet's influence was broken.

After she realized she was screwed, she played the pity card, and fled.

Of course she should. For one, the amulet was corrupting her thoughts. Also isn't Equestria all about being kind and forgivness and stuff? If she does it again though then OFF WITH HER HEAD. ;)

Also, where was Celestia that entire episode? A crazed, revenge seeking unicorn with a powerful amulet is rampaging through Ponyville and why didn't she do anything? angry.png

Me? Forgive her??? Nope. I don't care if she gives Twilight 1,000,000 bits, or if she slays Gilda for Fluttershy. She still made stupid decisions that wrecked her reputation and the way I look at her.

Well it is sort of a... tricksy question ( Get it ;) )

It is kind of an open ended episode on some levels. Did she get the amulet because she wanted to put on better magic shows or because she wanted to kick Sparky's behind? When she tried to barbecue the best pony with lightning ( when she wasn't even wearing the amulet no less) had the corruption just not worn off yet or was she actually looking to seriously harm someone?

I'll say that it is hard to blame her for the actions of the episode entirely, but it did bother me that she only apologized to Twilight, when she treated the rest of the town comparably craptastically.

I'll say tentatively yes to the forgiveness, but I still don't like her all that much.

This post gives me warm fuzzies.

Of course she should be punished. She sought out power with bad intiention, enslaved a town, and when the so called corrupting power was taken, she still made an attempt to attack Rainbow Dash. The result? She got away with forgiveness and fireworks.

Im about ready to rant on how Discord and NMM also deserved punishment, but I dont want to get off topic.

Poll seems biased. But that`s fine. Can you add a ``I was never mad at her`option please? :3

I was never mad at Trixie in the first place. Being a street performer she has to have a personality to get credit. She picked arrogant which is much more common then you might think. So, thinking it was Twilight`s fault she lost her job, came back guns blazing. With her personality, and this being a kids show, that`s perfectly fine in my books! :D

On another note, the apologizing scene was so out of character that it negated the whole episode not breaking Trixie`s character, and keeping continuity with Boast Busters. I would have much prefered if she just stayed hated by everyone.

Oh. And for the record, I`m 100% biased. tongue.png

Ponies seem to be quite forgiving at times. Plus, Twilight did pretty much destroy her carrier so she had her reasons...

At least she isn't a Sombra character! There's a plus!!!!

It was an enormous baby bear that destroyed her carriage, the only thing Twilight did was stop it from wrecking the rest of the town.

I thought about a third option but with Trixie being great and powerful, I decided against it.

Cut and dry.

Truth or dare.

sink or swim.

Yes or No.

No easy way out. No undecided. No third option. But I'm not evil. Its all part of the Alicorn Amulet's curse.

Trixie's actions were the result of massive spite and rage being built up for a long time against not only Twilight, but everypony around her. She had been sucked into it so much that she forgot how to entertain her fans the proper way despite all the taunts and jeers tossed her way. Trixie herself wanted this to happen to begin with. Her boasting, although somewhat to be expected by a showmare, she went too far with it and it was the stepping stone to her descent to madness. She was cruel and mean, not the braggart and narcissist we originally made her out to be, but once again, she only acted the way she did because she could not control herself. The amulet had a lot to do with it, but she did want it... only, she was missing out on what really drives Equestria, the magic of friendship. Not having friends and someone to confide in really takes its toll over time, especially if you're being laughed and taunted just about everywhere you go.

All in all, she was nothing more than an angry mare seeking revenge as a means of self-gratification and it did her bad in the end, but she did come to her senses by realizing that revenge was wrong and she should have sought out Twilight's friendship/apology from their first encounter.

Me? Forgive her??? Nope. I don't care if she gives Twilight 1,000,000 bits, or if she slays Gilda for Fluttershy. She still made stupid decisions that wrecked her reputation and the way I look at her.

If you expected her to be something of a good character when introduced, you will need to watch both episodes involving Trixie and come up with another statement because you are horrendously off-track.

She was a very bitter showmare, not King Sombra.

Anyone who has ever lived cannot go by their lives without admitting that they have ever made some sort of big mistake. Sure, she may have been bitchy and unbearable from the start, but at least now she is learning her lesson - forgiving and perhaps forgetting, and redeeming yourself somehow, which is one of the ideals that Celestia holds dearly.

I agree that Trixie just played a pity card and realized that she need to find a new way to power and fled to be seen in a later episode

She should be locked up, if only because that will likely only increase her feelings of anger towards Twilight, causing her to do something similar to this when released. Maybe she can team up with some past minor villains, like Gilda and/or the Diamond Dogs, and destroy Ponyville during the finale or something.

I like evil characters, okay? I don't like seeing Trixie, who I think has potential as a villain, apparently feeling sorry about this. Hopefully, she was deceiving Twilight, or at least, she'll fall into her old ways later.

Allow me to go proclaim my dominance over an entire village/town and see how well they forgive me after I "learn my lesson". That just doesn't even make sense to me. I would feel differently if we were only talking about the first episode, but we aren't.

Also, I hardly hold belief in the phrase "forgive and forget" to begin with, because Heartless Plum is heartless. And besides, Celestia's ideals are invalid, as the title of the thread is, "Do you forgive Trixie", not, "Should everypony forgive Trixie".

And by the way, my previous post was pretty have-assedly thought through, so don't take me too seriously... :/

Or perhaps the episode wasn't long enough to fully play out what you could consider a "proper" apology rather than just leaving the town immediately on good terms.

Before jumping to conclusions, consider all the possibilities of one's behaviour before making an accusation.

Gonna have to say no. I can understand that she was angry at Twilight and Ponyville, but she just went too far in her quest for revenge. Taking over the entire town and enslaving the local population? That calls for some form of punishment beyond more public embarrassment and having to say "I'm sorry" If she had limited her revenge to just beating Twilight in the duel to regain her reputation, that would have been okay, but she went overboard.

Yes, i guess that is a possibility as well, being as there wasn't enough time to fully allow Trixie to redeem herself.  I hope that we will see more of her in later seasons, maybe even as an ally in the season finale or episodes of Season 4.

That doesn't make sense to me either, because that wasn't even her intention to begin with. Trixie didn't want to take over Ponyville for the sake of everypony wanting to forgive her afterwards. Her desire to reign supreme over all others was. Ultimately, she had a change of heart when Twilight stepped in to admit that those spells were just illusions made to deceive her, and make her look foolish. But Twilight didn't rub it in; she explained calmly that her friends were all the "magic" she needed in pulling off the big tricks. What was important for Trixie to realize was that real magic comes from yourself and those around you, not the desire to stand supreme over everyone else.

Also, I hardly hold belief in the phrase "forgive and forget" to begin with, because Heartless Plum is heartless. And besides, Celestia's ideals are invalid, as the title of the thread is, "Do you forgive Trixie", not, "Should everypony forgive Trixie".

But yet it sounds like to me that you haven't learned much from the show to begin with. Forgiveness and mercy aren't just Celestia's ideals either; we are taught to forgive because it can do wonders for both sides instead of fuelling more anger and hatred amongst each other.

How could anyone not forgive this?

post-8990-0-46260200-1354490585.png

All jokes aside, I probably would.  She was just acting off of her lust for revenge.  With her being a pony needing attention, and not receiving any, she'd be bound to go to desperate measures to try and get her way.

I'd like to think that she just made a mistake.

I guess so. I feel like the ending left opportunity for another episode with Trixie in it. I didn't feel either option, so I just put yes. I'm willing to forgive her.

True, but Trixie didn't know that. She had left when snips and snails admitted to luring the Ursa Minor in. From her point of view, she felt like she had justification as she thought Twilight had released it... Bronies: We over think too much!!! laugh.png Edited by Faceless

I haven't learned much from the show. I don't really want to. Besides, I just said that Heartless Plum is heartless, so fueling more anger and hatred is ideal, for me. c:

Also, I'm just not very smart, at all, so I just say you win, or whatever (was this even a debate or something..? I dunno).
