Finally finished my OC

Chales

Recommended Posts

So I've been just scribbling myself as a pony for a long time and now I've finally got around to finishing it.

Hes name is Wood Chuck and his cutie mark is a wood chisel.

What do you guys think?

Hmm, how much wood can he chuck?

I like the angular style, design, coloursheme and shading are excellent as well.

His right hindleg's anatomy is off though and judging by how wide it is opened, his right eye's upper outline should be rounded.

Also we should see where his left frontleg meets his body.

Looking forward to more.

It looks wonderful! I really have some strange love for ponys holding things in their mouth, Idk why but its always something I find so cute :D.

And he looks pretty good! the only thing I could complain about is maybe the outline looks a little bit thick? Thats not that big of a problem though, so idk if you actually wanna bother :P.

He looks good to me though! Great job!

How much wood would Wood Chuch chuck if Wood Chuck could chuck wood ... Ouch, sorry, that came out by itself and I couldn't have stopped it, no matter how unoriginal it was.

Either, that's a very nice work and interesting looking pony. Only thing I could possibly critique would be that your drawing style isn't really the pony style - Which both gives it the even more "original" design and makes it perhaps a little bit too sharp and grim to fit in. Which doesn't have to be a bad thing. Anyway, that's just my opinion.

I finally got a around to fixing up the drawing. I redrew the back leg because it really did look bad and I played around with the shading.

I've toned down the outline a bit and made it a less noticeable color. I reason I have the outline around the entire drawing is so it pops out a little more.

I tried to incorporate elements of my style into the pony style when I was drawing this. My style is very boxy and angled, a little bit like the style in Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends. I purposely chose to use a less saturated color scheme mostly so it wouldn't look like crazy neon color pony.

Seeing the edited rendition of this OC, I must say I find myself quite impressed. Your art style is quite charming, I must say. Something about the sharp angles combined with round sections makes it almost mesmerizing to look at, and your shading is a phenomenal touch, I must say. The color scheme on Wood Chuck is excellent, with each complementing one another well, and his goatee is expertly executed. The expression on his face is quite well done, though I think that his right eye is raised a bit high to still have a slant rather than being rounded at the top. Placing a wrap on his tail and giving it the chopped style is very creative and lends a lot to making Wood Chuck unique. The black outline around him does as you want it, as well, making him pop while also being subtle enough not to detract from his actual design.

Overall, I must say that he is an excellent OC. You did a great job creating him! I'd love to see more art from you in the future.  ;)

Wow... That's EXACTLY like my OC Rockshire... Geez. Small world, huh?

But either way, good work with the pics! Still a little freaked out that your OC's occupation is the same as mine.

Thanks guys for the comments :) I'll probably do a another drawing involving Wood Chuck but I'm currently working another one involving Twlight. I'll post the image once I'm done with it.

It's better than good...it's CHALESOME

Professionally drawn and colored, great idea for a character...this is one of those rare OCs that would not be out of place if he appeared on the show. Great job, sir.
