FoxyCryptid 4,330 July 31, 2013 Share July 31, 2013 (edited) You know, we could argue about this until doomsday and got nowhere, I'm going to stop right here and agree to disagree, no matter how much I could contest that post you just made. Thanks for the time everyone. I just want to leave a final statement as food for thought, faith and religion are two different things that aren't necessarily mutually inclusive. Edited July 31, 2013 by Shoboni 1 "You know, I don't know who or what you are Methos, and I know you don't want to hear this, but you did teach me something. rodrick 0 August 2, 2013 Share August 2, 2013 I'm one, but I don't do all that christiany stuff. Althogh we do take easter seriously, we also celebrate three kings day, and we also pray on our food, and yes we also pray on grilled cheese sandwhiches. But I'm still a person, who's a chistian, and plays the binding of isaac on a daily bases.
Jammo 986 August 2, 2013 Share August 2, 2013 (edited) I am. Christian Universalist to be specific. I freaking love me some Leo Tolstoy. I'm also the first to defend someone who gets attacked for being a non-Christian. Because it's the honorable thing to do and regardless of what you believe or don't believe, dwelling on differences and using them as an excuse for conflict is a very separatist mindset and had very bad results. SwigglySwiggly 359 August 2, 2013 Share August 2, 2013 (I'm a former/dissolving christian, I'm just here to put in my opinion) For the first time... I am posting about religion without anyone attacking me, if only if was like this everywhere else. Well whatever religion/race/creed you are I will always love you guys, because we're all bronies and that keeps us closer than anything else <3. I went to church and believed with all my heart, then I got hit in the head (literally and figuratively) and it hurt (literally and figuratively). I still believe in God occasionally, during tough times... I'm losing faith as one might say. Either way, we are all bronies and we will always love and tolerate the sh*t out of each other, no matter our religion Click on the links!: Here! & Here! takai 1,060 August 16, 2013 Share August 16, 2013 I'm Lutheran/Christian. I'm really glad to see others like me here. It's nice to see that's there's a safe place to admit this, because now a days you get attacked for it. Which is a very sad thing. I have to admit though, I've been slowly moving away from God. With having 2 jobs, school, other personal projects, and just growing up in general. It's just hard to find the time. It's something I really need to work on. On this site alone, I've seen too many people be so condescending towards religious folk of all kind, implying we're stupid, brainwashed or ignorant. Thank God there's a thread where we can just be, you know? 5 I am a Brony. I love being a Brony, Twilight is best pony.

We all struggle sometimes dude, don't worry, doubt and struggle is a nessary step in your road to growing closer to God. I think doubt is very important, me and my Youth leader talk as I ask questions about everything pertaining to the lesson for youth that day. I can start discussion and question practically every part of the bible. And you know what? I think thats good, because with doubt comes questions, and with questions comes answers, and with answers comes reaffirmation in your belief. So doubt can be good, if you seek answers. Good luck, I hope you can sort things out, I know life can be a busy and tough thing sometimes. If you ever need someone to talk, i'm here . God bless. Vertigo_95 572 August 17, 2013 Share August 17, 2013 Well I am another Christian brony. I am active in a church where I record videos of the services. Although my knowledge of the bible is not as great as others, I do know the basic stories. Haha, Baptists DO have the best potlucks! It's nice to see people claiming the name of Christ, with as many people online as there are who love to mock Believers. For me, being able to chat with those who truly know the miracle of Salvation is just awesome! (Chatting about Ponies just adds to the fun!) The potluck is so true. It sometimes is better than the food cooked at my home

Einsam71 1 August 17, 2013 Share August 17, 2013 *bows* Proud member of the local Church of Christ. My faith has gotten strong as I've gotten older as I used to be a heavy non believer. If I were to sum up my conversion it would be best to use Pascal's Wager.
Inactive01 5,299 August 17, 2013 Share August 17, 2013 In all of my roleplays, I try my best to incorporate Christian ideas. While they are very subtle, they're still there. The Bible has amazing images and symbols that literature has used throughout history. Gardens, blood, purity, perfection, and so forth! The language of the Bible is rich because it's from God! He used humanity to write it in their own way and express what God wanted them to express with the Holy Spirit. I hope you all understand this as you read the Bible. It was written for ancient audiences, but for us today, we learn how the ancients understand it and how that can be applied for us today. That's exegesis and hermeneutics for you all, and this is my Christian thought of the day.

Inactive01 5,299 August 17, 2013 Share August 17, 2013 Thanks! I attended a Christian university and they taught that to us for my interpretation of the Bible course. It transformed the way I read the Bible forever... nothing else had that same magnitude (other than my dad's sermons, to which he uses these same concepts for his Ph. D. program in theology).
FoxyCryptid 4,330 August 17, 2013 Share August 17, 2013 After debating here, I'm more convinced than ever that I don't belong to any denomination and "the heck with it, I have my faith and that's all that matters." 1 "You know, I don't know who or what you are Methos, and I know you don't want to hear this, but you did teach me something. Yellow Diamond 7,579 August 17, 2013 Share August 17, 2013 @Sterling Crimson Your father teaches theology? No kidding! My dad has his doctorate in theology -- biblical studies, to be more precise. He's keenly focused on how the Bible was, is, and can be interpreted. I credit him with profoundly shaping my own views on exegesis and hermeneutics. I was actually fortunate enough to take his graduate course in New Testament studies. 2 Domine, tu omnia nosti, tu scis quia amo te.
Inactive01 5,299 August 17, 2013 Share August 17, 2013 Well my dad mentors it to us in his sermons yes. He hasn't got his Ph. D. in biblical theology yet, but he's getting there. And that is amazing! You get to take your dad's courses?! That's awesome! A lot of Indonesians respect my dad highly because of the way he synthesizes different theological interpretations and make it his own. And it still holds because he does the above exegesis and hermeneutics really well!

I mean they probably won't know me by my sceenname so I guess that is kind of moot. Last semester I took a Jesus Life and Ministry course. The first 1/3 of the class we explored the case for the accuracy of the gospels. Wonderful class.
