What do you wish for generation 5?

I feel that Gen 5 is a little ways off. Season 4 just began so there's gonna be some time before the next one comes. However I think that soon, the writers will get working on it depending on the success of season 4. So Far I think that Season 4 has been great but there is still a long ways to go till the end of the season, so I'm saying that season 5 will depend on this one

What if gen 4 is thousands of years into the future after an apocalypse causing all humans to go extinct?

Then we'll be reborn as ponies! :)

I hope for more adventures and a bit of a higher age rating. I hope it have many successful seasons and maybe have the CMC as grown and the mane six with or some where else. What I like to be doing is working along side Hasbro on G5. I am so excited for G5 even though it's a LONG as time away, I still like to dream and hope for a great G5, but at the same time, keep the character and art design the same.

I too hope for a series that is a little more mature, but not a lot, otherwise it would wreck it.

About the being reborn part: There's no way you would not eventually end up being reborn as a pony. It took a little bit of time to figure out on top of the multiverse (which addresses materialistic things only) that your inner personality ("soul") is transferred in very simple fashion. As soon as you die, your mind is no longer capable of containing a personality, as it is dead. Your personality will then be transferred to the first available personality-capable mind anywhere whatsoever. Don't worry about becoming an ant or so, those literally don't have a personality. They are biological robots. Now, in the infinity of infinity, you will eventually end up as a pony, or at some point become omnilocked at which you cannot be killed in any way.

What if they actually made a MLP FOR a slightly older audience! I think it would be pretty cool if they actually made episodes based off of peoples fan fics!

This is the problem I have with this particular subject starting with how G4 will end:
Most shows like G4 can end in plenty of ways. The writers may decide to quit and new writers break the show. Hasbro may make a brainless decision that ruins the show then cancels it. Really anything.

Now to the part after G4 goes: Hasbro will no doubt pull a spongebob in which the recognize the potential money that can be made from their series based on the previous generation's success. One of two things will happen: they get a good artistic team like with G4 and make a good show, or hire a bad team that doesn't know how to handle it as far as recreating the previous generation (a.k.a. Pulling a spongebob.)

Oh god, if they pulled a spongebob, I would hate to even think how depressing that would be!!!

I don't know but seeing how our generation is they should make it for older kids: like Regular Show. Don't be afraid to say sucks and hold crap at times. And should have cooler enemies, like at least by 20%. Shows made by what the writers like, and not bout what they think children like, tend to be a lot better.

That's why a lot of us like MLP so much, it has the cuteness, and simple plots that little kids can understand, but also has subtle references to darker slightly more mature things that we can also relate to!

If I was in charge of a G5 in about 20-30 years time, I would want it to have plenty of appeal to all ages and genders, as G4 has had, and lots of nods to the past, to bring bronies and pegasisters into a new generation and bring attention back to the previous generations. Assuming I has the permission I would even incorporate elements from all the previous generations in as well.

Gen 5? I already know what a Gen 5 looks like!

Mark+Martin+NASCAR+Sprint+Star+Weekend+D

Oh... we're talking about ponies, not stock cars? Silly me. (NASCAR jokes fly over most people's heads anyway :P)

It's actually really funny. My English teacher and I actually had a debate on what the Gen 5 ponies should look like. Now, mind you, she grew up in the 80s, back in the, well, "First Golden Age" of My Little Pony. She says that the older ones looked far more like ponies, and the Gen 4s look more... human, she says. Of course, being me who just started watching MLP in Gen 4, I want to see, if there is a Gen 5, the ponies to have more resemblance to the FiM ponies. Of course, she wants the older designs to come back :P

Eventually a new generation has to come for toy lines like transformers.

But due to the success of MLP FIM is doing, I doubt we will be seeing G5 in a long time........

But when the time comes, I do wish they keep the trend of hiring the right actors, writers, and producers to keep the series alive and going for future generations.

You know that is a very good question actually...

I mean since this series it has never had a *fandom* quite like this nor as big as it has gotten. With how popular G4 has been I don't even know where to begin with what a G5 would be like? Would they keep it more or less with the same styling or change it up drastically?

Would they aim or a new audience? I don't really know what to think/say to this question just yet.

I'd like it to be the same type of show with different characters. They could do the grown up CMC as for of the new mane 6, or something like that, or it could be an entirely new cast. It, for me, just should be essentially the same thing. Different stories, different characters, different everything, but same basic outline and scenarios...if that makes any sense.

Well, in 20 years, it'd probably be G6 :P

All technicalities aside, something I see in this that wasn't really said out loud is that it could be something to bring the fans of all generations together which wouldn't only be awesome community-wise but also business-wise. The caveat being that it must still be something fresh. The concept on its own would -- I think -- need to be something new and unique to itself while working for it pretty well with the nostalgic references being the subtleties.

I would rather see the CMC become the main roles, after the inevitable moment of the CMC gaining they're cutie marks. seeing them at the same age as the Mane 6 now. And as the years go by the Voice actors of the CMC will be developed too so it would be fitting. Time to time the original Mane 6 will appear from time to time too, of course they're roles will probably be more influential to the story depending on how the writers display the  milestones and achievements, but  I definitely want the focus to be around the CMC. I wouldn't even mind Babs being part of the group too.

I think it's pretty much logical that if there a sequel with the current generations the CMC would play a huge part, the great thing about the storytelling of this generation is that there is a lot of opportunity for continuity that the writers and the fans can continue once this story is over.

I'm hoping for a more 50/50 split in male and female ratio. A more broad focus then Friendship is Magic. A more mature tone would also be fantastic.

Although the maturity of the content would be best stay at K+ or PG.

I'd honestly like it to stay the way it is, perhaps touch on a few more mature things perhaps around PG13 or so but I kinda like it the way it is :)

I seriously hope it's the same style as G4. More adventures, same characters, with an interesting twist!

With Season 4, I really like the way it's going. S4 is definately better than Season 3 in my perspective. Just my opinion.
