So, you all remember those popular cartoons, right? Courage the Cowardly Dog, Kids Next Door, Ed, Edd N' Eddy, etc? Well, most of the time when I look at channels like Nick and Disney Channel today, they turn into boring channels with Sitcoms, Game Shows, and lackluster cartoons. (Fan-Boy and Chum-Chum, Robot and Monster, Level Up) But I've seen Cartoon Network improve recently. That channel now holds some of my favorite cartoons. Regular Show for example.. That show is either my favorite, or tied with being my favorite TV show next to Friendship is Magic. I like how it's more of an adult type cartoon. Not on the level of Family Guy, but not on the level of kiddy either. All of the characters are interesting and funny. Another example is Adventure time, I love that show. I believe it won an Emmy or two as well. Amazing World of Gumball is, well... I'd say decent. Nothing spectacular. But if Cartoon Network kept having good cartoons like this, do you think they could match up to what they had in the past?

For all the horrible shows that have been out recently, there have been a few recent works that stand out to me as being, well, not failures. Look at Disney Channel. Look at the shows they have on Disney Channel. The ONLY good one, in my opinion, is Phineas and Ferb. That's the only show I can think of offhand on Disney Channel lately that actually retained my attention.

Otherwise... I'd have to agree with you on Adventure Time and Regular Show. Chowder was good too, not quite as good as RS and AT, but I think they canceled that anyway.. Although I remember hating Flapjack, and didn't they do something with, like, I don't know, Fish Hooks? And Almost Naked Animals? Those shows literally made me want to pull my brains out through my eye sockets.

The only thing I'm really a fan of from current cartoon network is Regular Show. I've seen a few episodes of Adventure Time, and I honestly wasn't a fan of its humor. (please don't hate me) I really love classic cartoon network, and believe it or not, one of those cartoons was the thing that got me into MLP. It was Powerpuff Girls. I was a huge Powerpuff Girls as a kid, and when I got a little older, (from 6 years old to 10 years old) I thought it was too "girly" and stopped watching it. As it turns out, I was actually right the first time, It is a great show. I began rewatching it on YouTube and than it hit me: I was watching a show for little girls. This made me think of bronies. That's when I began to think that maybe MLP was the new Powerpuff Girls, so I gave it a chance, and have been a brony ever since.

Oh, and I know a LOT of bronies like to credit Lauren Faust for creating Powerpuff Girls and Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends. While she did work on those shows, they weren't created by her, but by her husband, Craig Mccracken.

Disney Channel is just losing its show talent roster each and every year, the only show that is keeping Disney alive is Phineas and Ferb that's pretty much it.

Cartoon Network had the best old shows that you listed, but now they are running out of ideas the only shows that are keeping it alive are, Regular Show and Adventure Time, while The Annoying Orange , The Looney Tunes Show , and Level Up are trying to kill the entertainment that we have come to know and love.

Nick is well practically trading $ for new ideas because, Fanboy and Chum Chum + Robot and Monster are by far the worst shows that Nickelodeon can pull out of their butt, they just aren't the Nick I've come to know and love, but at least Spongebob is still around with lackluster second -to- none , garbage new episodes that aren't like the old ones.

Looney Tunes Show is bad? I actually really like that one as well. Forgot to mention it. I've been hearing people say bad things about the show, but I find it very enjoyable. What's so bad about it?

I think Cartoon Network may be starting to come back, I agree that Regular show is pretty damn good, and so is Adventure time, but Gumball is hard to watch.

Then, on Disney, Phineas and Ferb started out good, but it is falling off a cliff at this point. BUT! I do love Gravity Falls, even MORE than MLP FiM. But other than that, Disney has crap shows, and the worst commercials ever.

And Nick, oh dear... I don't like anything on that channel right now, other than Spongebob reruns.

I honestly think all three are improving on the animation department, or at least Cartoon Network and Disney is at least.

I'm going to go ahead and say this now, I still can't forgive Cartoon Network for cancelling Megas XLR. That said, I'm still willing to give them a second chance, because after the dark days of CN real, Regular Show is seriously one of the awesomest shows I've ever(it buts heads with FiM as one of the best cartoons this decade) and Adventure Time is also really great, plus they sorta brought back Toonami, and while it's just Adult Swim action with a Toonami skin, it's still a good effort. And Disney's no different, especially with Phineas and Ferb, Gravity Falls, Motorcity and the Avengers(this is probably my favorite superhero show)

As for Nick, after the abysmal Fanboy and Chum Chum, they've had really great shows(mostly Korra and TMNT, though admittantly, I think TUFF Puppy, Kungfu Panda and Penguins are also great). Problem? Spambob. Please Nick, just kill the Sponge already

Anyway, outside of my rage for you forgetting to mention Gravity Falls I should talk about CN.

Even though the overall cartoons on Cartoon Network have been bad for awhile, it has always been that way. Outside of one or two good shows, these days being Adventure Time and Regular Show (maybe Gumball), they have always had a plethora of crap being shown. I'm dead serious, too, it's just that we try our best to forget that they existed and often succeed. Remember the massive amount of old 60's Hannah Barbera cartoons (most of which suck don't kid yourself), that one cartoon with the canadian and his dog, The Moxy Show, The original Pac Man cartoon, Atomic Betty and even more crap that was shown 24/7? Of course you don't, and I only remember it vaguely but it happened.

Cartoon Network was started to deteriorate for a while but I think they may be starting to pull themselves back from the brink albeit more slowly than I would like. It is mainly the Loony Toons Show, Star Wars the Clone Wars, Green Lantern and Young Justice that is really carrying them right now. With Toonami back though unfortunetely not on prime time that is at least hopefully a good sign of things to come.

I stopped watching Cartoon Network after CN real. That is what got to me.

I recently retured and I can honestly say that it's getting back up. Regular Show is one of my favorites, Adventure Time is enjoyable, but I don't like the Amazing world of Gumball, something about doesn't make it appealing to me.

Any ways I think if they can keep things up they can return to its former glory.

I haven't payed much attention to the other two channels, but CN i stopped after chowder and when they decided to go live action. My faith is slowly coming back once Toonami came back. I don't watch it alot, but when I do I am very happy. Tenchi muyo :D cowboy bepop :D Inuyashi :)

Adventure time never really watched it alot but from what I hear is amazing and still trying to watch it. I'm just happy CN going back to their roots sort of. I like watching it here and there and sometime I still wake up for Saturday cartoons but recently stopped after watching the new pokemon series. I hate Ash.

Red made me dislike the series following idiotic Ash.

Cartoon Network's had its ups and downs over the years, but it's evident now that they're at least making an effort to get back to what people want. Regular Show and Adventure Time are immensely popular, and are something of Cartoon Network's modern fan favorites, as could be said of Courage the Cowardly Dog and Dexter's Laboratory, both of which can be seen on a new mashup show called Cartoon Planet, along with Cow & Chicken, Codename: Kids Next Door, and other classic CN shows. However, The addition of the live-action shows doesn't seem like a popular move. None of the live action shows seem even remotely well-received, and they really lessen the 'Cartoon' aspect of Cartoon Network. The return of Toonami was a serious crowd pleaser, and hopefully, CN decides to listen to the public and keep it this time, but with new shows on the way, public media tastes changing, and depending on the demographics the network decides to go after next, its quality is still up in the air.

I've got an idea! No..... No, wait; it's just a concussion....

Sorry, I forgot to mention Gravity Falls. Ok, Gravity Falls and Phineas and Ferb the only good disney shows left. Point taken.

The only bad things about the Looney Tunes Show is the boring plotlines and plus well its like a reboot/remake of the original Looney Tunes except, the Merry Melodies in the Looney Tunes Show are just weird and dumb.

Cartoon Network is pretty good nowadays, I watch Regular Show and Adventure Time (I like RS the best)

Sadly, I think Disney Channel was never good (even Phineas and Ferb, Gravity Falls, I can't stand either) and Nickelodeon lost it years ago.

Chowder and Flapjack are gone, so I see no reason to watch CN, and nothing else has caught interest.

I didn't get CN until 2005, so the channel was still pretty new to me. But I loved CN then, especially Adult Swim. Man, I miss Lupin the the third... anyways.

I loved the city bumpers, I wish they kept it that way, and just kept updating it with the shows

Good shows like KND, fosters home, PPG, Johnny Bravo, Ed Ed & Eddy,My Gym Partners a monkey (I might be a minority on that one)

I personally don't like the Regular show, and I don't care for Adventure time, but I do watch it from time to time.

I absolutely LOVE Regular Show. I decided to check it out (Mostly because nothing else was on.) And I was shocked by how good it was. Adventure Time is OK, but it's just not really my show, although there are a few funny scenes from each episode.

I think the reason why we think most shows on Cartoon Network nowadays suck is because we're not their target audience.

Hello!

I think it's pretty simple to say, Old Cartoon Network - Good. New Cartoon Network - Bad.

I've always been more of a Jetix fan that evolved from Fox Kids, though after it was bought by disney and shut down, i've quit watching any cartoon channels. <_<

I agree that Cartoon Network is coming back.  It was around the time of CN Real that I quit watching the channel entirely, and just started watching Boomerang when it plays all of it's 90's shows.  Nickelodeon is just in a grave they can't dig themselves out of (except for 90's are All That), and I only watch Disney Channel for Gravity Falls.  Phineas and Ferb is still a good show, but it just got old for me.  Anyway, I'm watching Regular Show, Gumball, etc. on CN whenever something else isn't on.

Hold your horses (ha!), and though I agree that Cartoon Network has the potential to become great once again. The first thing they would have to do is, stop sabotaging themselves when they have something good in their hands.

I get they're in for the revenue, but The Annoying Orange and The Problem Solverz? please.

The only shows i love in Disney are Gravity Falls and Phineas &Ferb (i've been rewatching it and my interest in it is back from the dead)All the other shows are crap.

In Nickelodeon i enjoy The Fairly Oddparents,TUFF puppy,The Penguins of Madagascar and a few others, but sadly SpongeBob has become an aquatic version of Ren&Stimpy.

As for Cartoon Network, well,it still has pretty decent shows like Regular Show,Adventure Time,The Clone Wars and Dragons:Riders of Berk.

In resume, all these channels may have fallen pretty down, but may have a little chance to achieve redemption

I agree that Cartoon Network has had quite the turnabout in the past two years. They've come out with amazing shows that I honestly think rival the older shows. I can't say the same for Nick or Disney, however, as they've both become stupid. I enjoyed shows like Even Stevens, or Life With Derek. Now it's all Selena this, Demi that. Shows that have live action actors like that get boring very fast, and it doesn't help that the actors usually tend to go unstable both mentally and physically.

Profit and quantity over quality seems to be the way forward with most things. When I was young I used to watch Thomas the tank engine and the original show from the 80s was made with model trains and cardboard sets it was brilliant but now its animated and looks like crap because its cheaper. :(

Thre only thing I watch from CN right now is Adventure time. Though I am still hoping they will bring a new season of the revamped Thundercats...that show was awesome and I cannot accept having to live with the cliffhanger never being resolved

I watched all the original Looney Tunes and then i watched this and i cried because they killed every character. Daffy Duck is a tool and he wasnt like that in the original. in the original he just tred to one up Bugs and failed comically..i could go into this character by character but i dont want to rage quit.

as for the topic, i think it has to do with Cartoon Networks demographic being mostly teenagers.
