Essentially, this is a specific form of self-hypnosis where you listen to an audio file to guide you into trance and through the "transformation." You see, pony hypnosis, as is being discussed in this thread, convinces your mind that you are a pony rather than a human. It is only meant to be temporary, though, and the file instills a "trigger" to allow you to switch at will. That's if you can get to the point of the supposed transformation actually sticking after the file ends. Most of the time, I just come out of it rather relaxed with an interesting experience fresh in my mind.

 

What is the point of all this? I honestly don't see anything that could be gained from hypnotising yourself to "be a pony".

 

Well, depends on what you want to get out of it. Personally, I've found self-hypnosis to be very relaxing in my past experience with it. People will have their own reasons that they may want to be a pony for a little while, whether it be they want to escape from their own life or want to know what it feels like to be one of the ponies.

 

I only tried it out of curiosity, honestly. I wanted to see if there was something legit to all of this, if I could really hypnotize myself. And I can. Like I stated before, I find it very relaxing. I used to do the pony hypnosis, but the "transformation" never stuck around after the file ended. But I still liked doing it, because of the experience. That's all it is really, an experience for people to try.

Honestly, though, it worked and didn't work at the same time. I didn't feel like a pony or anything, but I acted like Rainbow Dash. But I'm a lot like Rainbow Dash, so I'm not entirely sure if it worked or not.

That's odd, it shouldn't take that long... Only a day or so. You can email some of the admins... Or if you want, lemme know what username you picked there and I can send the message along. There may have been a snafu..

 

And as per my experiences with them, they were mind blowing. I need to do some of the files again soon. But, like anything like this... Your milage may very. Worth a shot for anyone interested tho!

How long it lasts may vary, with some members seeking more permanent effects through repeated file use. There are safeties, of course, that will allow you to revert to your normal self should you so desire. Keep in mind, your mind is wholly your own, and if you do not wish for something to take effect, you are within your power to reject it. These are only suggestions that you are being given, after all.

 

As for the effects, again, it varies from user to user. Some have experienced walking on four legs, others have simply experienced the physical sensations whilst maintaining their natural gait. Some do it purely for the physical form, and others are more appreciative of the personality shifts that can occur.

Courtesy of our resident Twilight, a new experience file is now available in time for season 6. Aptly named "Experience The Show," this set of files allow you to either experience the episodes through the eyes of a selected character as you watch them, or right beside them as yourself or your OC. As always, there are safeties in place should an experience prove too intense, and to the same end, neither pain nor harm can come to you regardless of what happens in the show.

It depends. Sometimes it can last minutes or even an hour or two.

It varies from user to user. Some strive for permanent effects through repeated use of the files, but this is quite an undertaking. For the most part, listening to a file once or twice will only grant you effects for the duration of the file, depending on your susceptibility. If you are feeling scared, remember this: your mind is wholly your own. If you truly do not wish for a particular effect, or for it to end, it is within your power to reject it. There are plenty of safeties in place to ensure this, as well.
